You can make 50k and still live an enjoyable life. By far the persons mental state is far more important than anything monetary.

Relationship with themselves, being healthy, having a good relationship with their family, has their own life such as an agenda of maybe going to the gym, a hobby, something they have a routine with.

Adopting the mindset that you do not always need to be in a rush, things can wait, worrying only goes so far before it is toxic and counterintuitive. Worry enough to care, no so much to make you a nervous wreck.

Again, you need money....but there is waaaaay too much emphasis on it.

This is assuming your family will still associate with you if you only make 50k and that you can afford to pay for a gym membership, hobbies, etc (will be a struggle)

My hobby is viciously trolling Rust Belt internet forums while working from home, crunching Census data to tell everybody how poor they are.

Makes me feel like a big man.

Tip: when somebody says something revealing about their means or preferences, describe something just slightly above it as "what middle-class consumers expect". Nearly all adult Americans believe they are middle-class, and telling them they didn't quite make it is like slow poison. The thread will be dead by the time they realize they've been insulted.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

Dunno if your in law is cheap, frugal, or just smart with his money - you would know best.

Most successful people that have a large equity also don't make extravagant purchases. They basically live a modest life. Not much changes (other then spending flexibility) when you make more money. Only celebrities do that.

This is what most broke people say about people with high incomes. Isn't that funny that they always seem to be the experts on how high earners allegedly really spend their money? Its a bunch of cope, srs.

Not really.

People who built their wealth from the ground up generally know how to manage their funds, and don't require spending money on useless things.

I also didn't know that I had to show my wealth either.

The quality of suits coming from Suitsupply is pretty good quality. I was skeptical about most of their suiting being "Made In China" but they are a good mid-range suit for many men.
