Disagree. Saw them two nights ago and he sounded fantastic. He’s clearly worked on his fitness and potentially with a vocal coach.

Lmao but who was appetite for destruction. One of the strongest debut albums of all time - 50% of the songs are hits.

Mercury didn't quit on the band, he happened to pass away. That he happened to do a couple of (terrible) solo albums wasn't even a big deal as the other guys in the band worked on solo or side projects as well. And to say he hurt them more than helped him, LMAOOOOOOO. He made the band.

Should add Seger to this list, srs. Prob get a lot of hate, but I just can't take his music. Easy listening mfer.

Nobody really cared from what I remember. Pretty much everyone suspected he was at least bi (same with Bowie and Elton--hell, quite a few people thought Jagger was bi) . . . they just liked the band. People can have various opinions on musical tastes and all that, but I defy someone to watch something like Queen at Wembley in the 80's and tell me that Mercury wasn't a phenomenal frontman or that Queen only played meaningless, top 40 pop or whatever I've seen here.

Someone may not like Queen's music or Mercury's sexual preferences or how he carried himself on stage, but saying he's the most overrated frontman is disingenuous at best.

Stevie Nicks. I can't stand Fleetwood Mac, and I think it's mostly because of her voice.

How many people in the 80s do you know who had queen or freddy mercury tee shirts? You don't think his sexual orientation hurt their fan base? Queen was a joke to everyone I knew. They may have been popular worldwide but not very popular among young men in America. I guarantee you anyone wearing a queen tee shirt to high school would have been ridiculed and possibly pummeled. We didn't play that homo chit back then.

You can have a distinctive sound, stage presence/crowd control or musical skill. Pick two.
Freddie Mercury would disagree, and take all 3.
