Either you are sadistically trolling, or you genuinely do not understand why people cry or grieve about anything, because you are incapable of feeling those emotions yourself.

To be honest... This is a forum where a group of miscers encouraged someone to commit suicide of live stream... So maybe I am an idiot for hoping for more from posters here. The fact that you (and a number of other posters ITT) aren't red yet, probably speaks volumes about the overall culture of the misc.
Sorry but it’s not lack of empathy.

How you respond to things can make a world of difference.

If you want to cry about it then of course it’s going to suck. You can grieve a lifetime and make yourself miserable.

There’s good advice in what I posted. Maybe you don’t like the way it was delivered but far from sociopathic.

Bitching and moaning and whining and crying solves what exactly? Nothing.

Getting mad at people out and about not following recommendations because someone you know died from COVID solves what? Nothing

You can play the blame game all day long. Scold and be bitter and resentful against anyone not staying home forever if you want.

Who does that hurt though? Only yourself.

Or you can stop blaming people, pointing fingers, crying about how it’s all unfair and you don’t deserve this and instead be appreciative of the time that person did have and not waste the moments you have left.

All he’s doing is hurting himself. And if you can’t see that my post is actually trying to help him then I don’t know what to tell you.

Choose to be miserable and resentful against the world (which by the way is completely unintentional... even if they aren’t following stay home recommendations none of those people are actively trying to infect others.)..... or choose to accept we all die and to not waste your time sobbing about the certainties of life to maximize the time you do get.

But you know what, most of you are totally content wasting your f*cking time away which is why those comments in that post you quoted will fall on deaf ears

Being bitter and resentful that this shouldn’t have happened is the easy way out.

Moving past it and making the most of your time each and every day is the harder way.

Every day you have the choice to choose the easy path or the hard path. Cry all day and waste that time, or pick yourself up and focus on the good.

Your choice.

Sorry but I think it’s more irresponsible to hug him and tell him it’s ok to be upset because all that does is encourages him to continue with his same sh*tty perspective making fewer of his days happy.

I’d rather challenge him. Even if he hates me for it. At least I’m not doing him a disservice by perpetuating negativity behaviors that leads to greater unhappiness and wasted time in his life.

Think long and hard. Who is the real villain here? You’re robbing him of moving on with his life and I’m encouraging him to move past it.

Sometimes saying what someone truly needs to hear isn’t the most fun thing to do. So if you want to spin the cookie cutter I feel so bad for you OP I know it’s hard response go right ahead. But ask how much have you helped him?

Me? I’d rather offer him some constructive advice to improve his life by offering suggestions for what he is able to control.
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

One final comment

It’s perfectly fine if you disagree with my approach in that post but if any of you think there’s anything less than good intentions in that post you need to go read it again very f*cking carefully.

1. I’m telling him to stop focusing on the negative
2. I’m telling him death is inevitable and out of his control
3. I’m telling him what’s in his control is not to waste the time HE has sobbing and instead to make the most of it.

Don’t like the delivery? Fine

But there’s no good way to put this next part, you’re an idiot if you dont think that post was made with good intentions.

The fact BetaAsPhuck is zeroing in and bolding anything that might be remotely negative instead of focusing on the message itself shows the perspective he has on life. Just 100% laser focused on the negative. It’s all he sees. Even in forum posts.

Really sad. That’s worse than death tbh, to live in a constant state seeking out negatives as much as possible.

Between the two of us I’d say you’re the more likely to need psychiatric help. And no that’s not a criticism (I know exactly the way you’ll interpret this given your post above).

It’s more about me asking you to take a long look at your own behavior and why you came to the conclusions you did when you read that post. Even the username “BetaAsPhuck” is unsettling. That’s a very negative perspective to hold of yourself. Even if meant as a joke username it’s strange.

Again trying to be helpful, but I fear you’ll only respond negatively even to this. Get well man.

Grief is a normal response to the loss of a loved one. The fact that you can't understand that (and that you asked the question "what does it solve?"), further leads me to believe that you need to consult a psychiatrist and get tested for Anti Social Personality Disorder.

You don't seem to understand normal human emotional attachment. You seem to think that everyone else is abnormal.

Again... Immature Cluster B personality disorder people (those not in therapy) say very similar things.

I’m sure you’re a pretty smart guy but this post just really shows that you don’t understand basic emotions and BetaAsPhuck may be onto something.

Grief is a normal and HEALTHY reaction to a death of a loved one, it is the first step in the healing process. Bottling up your emotions is only going to lead to bad mental health problems down the road. There is a reason male suicide rate is so high compared to females.

Grief, resentment etc are all steps on the way to acceptance. Trying to forcefully rush it along will help no one.
