Been awhile and not much progress. Work has been hectic along with personal time being used for other endeavors.

I figured id update a few things.

Block was completely assembled then dissasembled to send every bearing, rings, pistons, wrist pins, oil pump gears and crank out for WPC treatment. This is basically micropeening but it increases surface hardness, and reduces friction. My friend has been using it for years on his drift teams motors and has seen a huge difference in the longevity of his race motors. It wasn't too bad at around 500 for everything.

Just paid the Invoice and it should be back this next week



And I decided to change my manifold to a sidewinder design

Big parts day today. Big ol 12.75 inch front brakes came in. Gonna need fat brakes to stop 550hp



Got the head finally assembled completely. Quick port work, Supertech valves, springs, retainers and OEM valve seals. SR16VE N1 cams bought from a friend and brand spanking new Valve cover with center piece and Mazworx billet hardware.









And also got the custom made radiator panel I had a friend do for me finally came in. Got some more parts coming in this week as well.




And finally got the final bits of internals back from WPC treatment. I'm super excited to try this out, it wasn't too expensive but everything I've seen shows it's the chit for built motors. Reduced friction, increased surface hardness and increased lifespan
and compression.






All in all a good day

Spent 12 hours today to drop off a perfect condition trunk off at VIS Racing to have them make a mold to produce 30 carbon fiber trunks.

Got to tour their facility and they had plenty of HNNNG cars in for RnD. New NSX, new Supra, two new Lambos, couple of S2000s,, etc

Hopefully I'll have a test mold in about a month or two then the trunks done by April ish.

Finally got the ring gaps set. Went on the looser side .020-.025 since this will be a high hp build. High temps, high rpm.

I'll put the block together when I get back from my week trip to LA

Pistons and rods assembled. Getting the wire locks for the wrist pins into the pistons was a massive pain in the ass.

I assembled one set in the block and spun it to check piston skirt clearance for the counterweights and the piston oil squirters. Everything checked out so it's all getting taken back apart to get the block resurfaced.

So after dealing with Precision and their bullchit after having two bad CHRAs I've sworn them off. I have a Garrett G30-770 but after doing a ton of research I've also decided to grab a VSR 6262 as well. It's a Precision clone but I've been reading hundreds on hundreds of positive reviews.

I have a friend building an 1100hp Camaro right now with one as well. I'll end up keeping whichever one I prefer the characteristics of better ( boost onset, top end, rpm range, power levels vs boost level etc)

On paper the Garrett has the upper hand however that a 2100 dollar turbo versus a 850 dollar turbo. The VSR is Dual ceramic bearing and Billet comp wheel so it seems like a huge bang for the buck. Nothing wrong with having 2 turbos

Got about 600 bucks worth of titanium bolts coming in to replace most the engine fasteners. Got a few yesterday and was playing with them and a torch to achieve different finishes. Do you prefer the blue or the raw titanium?

Still not much to report. Intake manifold is still MIA, bunch of OEM stuff is on the way, 5 lug conversion is complete, yada yada yada.

I sold the Stoptech brakes in favor of a 370z Brembo setup and mainly since it's only a few lbs heavier but this setup is about 1/4 the price. 13" rotors 4 piston aluminum calipers.

Stoptech was 1800 plus tax and shipping this was about tree fiddy.

Got a limited run of Octotat Fab Rear strut tower bar made up.



Massive 6 port-10an catch can, this will eliminate the PCV system and pull crankcase pressure via a scavenging fitting on the exhaust downpipe.



Decided to get 2 custom made coil pack covers made in carbon fiber. One will be a backup since only 5 total were made. Completely unnecessary stuff but I love carbon fiber so I couldn't resist



My Xcessive Manufacturing intake manifold decided to finally arrive well over a month late. Their excuse was they like to wait for a batch to machine them all at the same time despite the fact that there are not very many of this motor out there being built like this. This is also flanged for a Q45 bolt pattern for a 82MM Ross Machine Throttle body




And also I decided that the 1300cc injectors may not have enough flow for me on E85 if I decide to crank the boost up, therefore I sold those and changed to 2200cc Bosch injectors.

Also in the picture is the 2J racing handling kit. Includes taller balljoints and bumpsteer tie rod heim jointd which realigns the control arms and tie rods to parallel after lowering. This will eliminate bumpsteer and lower the cars CG at the same time.



Still waiting on the transmission to come back from vapor blasting which basically leaves a perfectly smooth better than factory finish. It's not a cheap process and took forever to find a shop that actually does it around here.

Tbh I love this portion of building. All the little petty details while I wait for chit to keep pouring in. I've spent hours blueing the bolts and it's tedious. If you do it even a little bit too long they can turn grey from getting too hot and some of these bolts are like 16-20 bucks a pop for the bigger ones.

Got more coating done, picked the calipers front and rear up today.

Got the front calipers reassembled. They came out beautiful. I love the color especially in the sun.




Picked up the subframe and arms last week. Got the TDMI subframe collars pressed in



Had to have custom sleeves machined up to fit the front Superpro bushings as there was almost a 1/4 gap since I have aftermarket control arms as OEM arms are discontinued.

Got the 2J extended ball joints pressed in as well. This is all just quickly mocked up to make sure that the calipers and rotors are centered up. I have to drill the caliper mounts out since the Brembos use a M14 bolt vs M12



These brakes are biiiigg



Motor is getting mocked up tomorrow so I can start making up the lines for the oil cooler, catch can and whatnot

Taarks Hall sensor kit to replace the cam angle sensor. These use a magnet and pickup as a sync/home for cam signal for the ECU. This is literally zero maintenance over an optical eye CAS. In addition it has a much cleaner signal at High RPMs.

Tossed the motor in to start mocking up AN lines and........the fancy 75 dollar hose cutters I got are as dull as a butter knife. Gonna send those pieces of chit back to the seller and grab something else.



Ordered a vise brake to be able to bend up the brackets for the intercooler, oil filter housing etc etc
