I support cops in most cases but this video clearly shows he's a retard who shouldn't have a badge. I have no idea why some people support this sort of thing. This hurts cops, it makes people hate them and distrust them, it harms the community. If that woman and her baby died it would be a national incident and if she was black there would be riots that destroy entire cities.

On a car group I'm on there are regular posts of cops killing speeders with pit maneuvers, but at least they didn't break the speed limit again!
The Texas cops who don't gaf about speeding on the toll roads are the only road cops who are bros tbh

You have no idea who is in a vehicle or what they might be doing, she could be stalling while swallowing bags of heroin or trying to hide weapons or something

The kicker on this was that after he rolled her car, he didn't rush over to help, he kind of stroll walked over. He didn't ask if she was ok, he immediately wanted to know why she didn't pull over. Then he ordered her to get out instead of waiting for medical attention.
Moving when you're injured can make things a whole lot worse. This cop just wanted to hammer into her that she should have pulled over, he had no concern about her safety whatsoever.
Then again, it's a cop and it's Arkansas. Is anyone really surprised?

But if I was her husband, and that guy keeps his job, I will make sure that it "accidentally" happens to him one day on his way home. And I will pay enough so that it never comes back on me.
I don't think he'll keep his job though. Written law is on her side. And these redneck police can't get away with the same chit they used to bc social media.

Put acab, BLM, and defund the police aside. Just look at this one specific incident and nothing else. There’s no justification for the officers actions

And if by unemployed loser you mean successful with a healthy 6 fig income, a sr. Management position in a stem field, and a robust investment/retirement portfolio. Then yeah. If you like reading my posts so much go back and look at how many Misc'ers I used to coach on how to climb the corporate ladder and increase their income and earning potential. You're seriously in over your head here and looking dumber by the post.
This woman is 100% going to win a lawsuit. She followed the law. Tax paying citizens shouldn't be punished for that cop's ineptitude.
Jerry would be disappointed with you.

Talked about this in some IG pages and was astounded at peoples reactions.
1) the officer should lose his job and should have his license as a LEO revoked because his judgement to do a pit maneuver in this situation was reckless and dangerous.
but to say he should face criminal charges is where things are VERY wrong.
Was his action intentful to cause harm or destruction? No, his intent was still as a law enforcement officer to end a pursuit and enact justice for someone evading arrest or detention. What he failed to do was use his discretion.
If we start charging people with crimes for the result and not the intent we are in for a mess of a society. Imagine if we started finding people guilty of crimes regardless of their intent and only because of the result of their actions?

Based on your description of his actions and lack of discretion, couldn't you make an argument for Reckless Endangerment.
Attempted Manslaughter also could be relevant as he didn't INTEND to kill or commit grave bodily harm. This would be a stretch to prove though.
The issue here is intent, as you mentioned, but even without intent there are still options for felony charges.

This same "reckless endangerment" then can be used for every single vehicle accident and say the person was being reckless and endangered people and every fatality accident is then manslaughter.
So no you are 100% wrong in saying this could be reckless endangerment or manslaughter, if this was not a police officer that wouldnt even be an argument.
What the officer is guilty of here is poor discretion and decision making, plain and simple, that is not a criminal offense, but it is easily one he should be fired for and possibly face civil issues.

Are you against Qualified Immunity?
Fyi, not arguing any specific point against you, just laying a framework to understand where you're coming from.

The fact of the matter is, pull over. The cop will know how to handle himself on the shoulder of the road - majority of the time approaching then passenger side (away from traffic lanes).

If it turns out she was in commision of an actual crime I can support the action. But if it really was just a moving violation or something similar, this is beyond dumb on the part of the officer. But even more dumb are the people who will support the police no matter what.

Didn’t watch the video, but on my agency we’re not allowed to follow or pursue unless a violent felony has occurred or the person is a threat to the safety of the community.
So if they don’t stop right away for a traffic infraction after a reasonable time we discontinue visual of the offender.
PIT maneuvers on my agency can only be used after an offender has met the above criteria and presented and intent to harm either the officer or the citizenry
Now I work for one of the best trained agencies in the country.
Look at smaller sizes or even rural departments and ask if they weigh those options with their own department policy and separate state laws
