Some quick points:
1. Shooter is not on "his property." Shooter is on his mistress's property.
2. Shooter is actually married to a federal judge.
3. Victim arrives legally at property; court order for visitation nullifies any claim of trespass.
4. Interfering with parental visitation is a felony in Texas.
5. Shooter does not retrieve firearm until victim states his intention to take legal action against the shooter and his mistress.
6. Victim's statement of intention to take legal action included a statement regarding public exposure of shooter's affair; victim specifically names shooter's federal judge wife.

This is not a self-defense shooting. You have witnessed a pre-meditated murder. The motive for the murder was silencing the victim to prevent exposure of the affair. As the shooter and his mistress were committing a felony by denying lawful visitation, any potential claim of self-defense is nullified. A bank robber cannot claim self-defense for shooting someone who tried to grab his gun while he was robbing the bank.

He escalated the situation in the first place by pulling the gun anyway. You can't pull a gun on someone just because they disrespected you.

They act like trash. Their history also seems to align with the fact they're trash.

But I get your point, it gets far worse.

I'm struggling with the legalities of this one. What state was this in? It's difficult to make a judgement call based on morality because we don't know what the entire story is, however, based on the video alone, my instincts and values tells me this was immoral.

This is an easy one to Monday morning quarterback, however, it's always good to have a plan. Circumstances like this are more common than we realize in custody situations. A plan would greatly reduce bad decisions. Everyone get in and stay in the house. Tell him he may wait in the vehicle and give details that his son wasn't home. If it was his legal right to have him, then that's something to take up with the courts. When you have a child with someone and the relationship fails, one must understand that your self interests have to adapt according to what's best for the child in development. If a parent is not good, then thats a case to present to the courts. If there is a physical dispute, call the police. If he attempt to invade the house, well, that's a different story...

Based on the information we have in this thread, something tells me the court issue runs deep. An attorney and a judge being involved can muddy the ethics pool, so to speak. It would require strong character and values to get through that without becoming corrupt, srs
