it's more "lore" than story.

anyways, some of the best games of all time have essentially non-existent stories.

Finally tried this game for about 6 hours. Tried the Astrologer and Vagabond. It's alright for some casual fun and if you miss experiencing some medieval battles with monsters. I love the monster designs and the effects of their attacks, but as I suspected the melee combat system is lacking (or Ghost of Tsushima really ruined these types of games for me), and it's quite repetitive. It just made me miss how great The Witcher 3 is and can't wait for the free remaster. Witcher 3 is leagues above ER when it comes to monster-slaying genre. The only reason why people are not complaining that the A.I. sucks is because the game is very challenging, but seriously the A.I.s are stupid. You don't even need to be careful on stealth to be able to sneak behind them and lot at the guards that are just a few meters away but not noticing their buddy getting wrecked with a lot of noise. Would probably still play ER from time to time if I'm bored and just want to experience some quick medieval-style fights with some monsters without having to go through some dialogues or quests. Not a bad game, but overhyped and overrated.

How far did you progress?

I'd be curious to see this expanded on. "Best Games of All Time" is entirely subjective and if you're lumping MP titles in with SP titles its blurring the lines further.

Now that I beat the game I can comment on the graphics a bit more


Graphically they’re a bit outdated but the art design more than made up for it. For the first ~5 hours I was a bit distracted by the poor graphics but by hour 10, I was so drawn in that it didn’t matter anymore. By hour 50, I thought this is one of the most beautifully made games ever.
