In the past such 'trolling' was considered joshing around - Why do you think Anachron is so high in reps? They're mostly from that age. I didn't partake which has kept me obscure and slowly earn reps over time, but I see the value of men just phucking around with each other and taking things in stride, potentially owning up to problems and dealing with them.
Now the 'victims' mope or double-down on their frauding. Because internet culture has changed irrevocably, and misc culture has been lost as a result.
You're a decent guy, so in the past when it was commonplace and everyone had guts you weren't phased by it. Now you're because you're seeing people hurt by it you feel compelled to step in and mediate. That's fair, and you still have my respect. But this stuff is not new.

I don't think that posters defence suffices. Everyone can recognize simple taking the piss or harmless banter. No one has a problem with that.
That's a world apart from the utterly vile and hateful toxicity a group of posters are displaying ATM. Constant insulting and bullying, continuous negging trying to cancel anyone with a different opinion, making the 100 page thread just whining about a single poster….
