Guys what do you think about Nixon watches. I'm currently torn between a Nixon and a Hamilton. I'm leaning towards the Hamilton as I have never owned one before and think it is a move in the right direction.

Long time lurker, first time poster

I just bought this Seiko mod created to look like a Rolex Milgauss (Dream watch but as a grad school student it won't be happening for a few more years). Mine will have the green sapphire crystal like the milgauss too. (Stock photo's from the website are below).

Just curious what kind/color straps to pick up for it? I was thinking about getting a grey or black leather strap and maybe a few NATO straps.

Will rep for any solid recommendations. Thanks brahs!

Oh, interesting piece, nice.

I would go black or a lightish brown leather strap. If you want to keep the Milgauss theme going, maybe try an Everest strap? They are used by Rolex owners, to keep the same essence of the watch.

You can't go wrong with a NATO, so choose what ever catches your eye.

The Rolex Milgauss would be a good present to yourself when you finish grad.

@poison, cool dude, I know you had your eye on that for a while, there is definably a cool uniqueness to that watch. I like the trident on the back of the second hand, and the large ovaled lume plot at 9 o clock.

@jimmysrustled pretty cool, had seen that a few times in the past couple of days in my feed. I think it would look pretty bitching on a cognac leather or camel colored suede strap with similar colored stitching to the dial. It would match without being over coordinated. The bracelet looks pretty cool tho imo. There are some pretty sweet looking stripped natos with blue and orange that aren't overkill.

just pulled the trigger on a 2254.50 on the "speedy" looking bracelet, looks to be in very good condition, complete with box/papers, pictograms, card sleeve, etc. Have had my eye on that watch for a LONG time.

Gaines' Wish List:
Spoiler!

Rolex "no-date" Submariner 114060

Rolex Explorer II

OMEGA Speedmaster "Moonwatch" Professional 3577.50 (From the Moon to Mars)

Precista Royal Navy Diver Re-Edition - PRS-82

Edit:
OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra 2503.34

Who wants to pay off my credit card?

The gorgeous '3551.20' will remain in my collection (thanks, Matt!), but she could do with a strap upgrade

As for the Seamaster, I'm not so sure Tempted to sell it to a good friend of mine, heavily discounted as a personal wedding gift from his best man! He's had his eye on it ever since I bought it, you see. I'd snag the '2541.80' (quartz) in its place, paired with a black leather strap. Too soon to say.

Edit: Why isn't there a single gold piece?
Criminal.

Fixed.

I've been wearing my Rolex date as my everyday watch lately. Notice that it's been getting way more attention than the tag GC RS7 or my Omega speedy. Like almost no one recognizes those.

Making me really contemplate my next watch purchase…

Anyone else have the same experiences ?

Inb4 I only buy watches for myself etc etc

Came here after I bought my first watch about a year ago (invicta 1263 sea spider), became aware Invicta was not a good brand. Looking to spend about $100 on a stainless watch. Something casual to wear daily. Im pretty open to all brands, will buy one today. Misc brahs plis

Honetsly, if $100 were my budget I would just buy a G-shock. If I were you I would get another hundred or two available and then buy something.

Maybe somebody else has a good suggestion though.

No one ITT buys wristwatches just to show off, mate. Certainly not a primary reason… If friends happen to 'mire, we take it as a compliment and leave it at that.

If the only reason you're buying wristwatches is for the attention, why not stick with fashion watches (e.g. Michael Kors)? You'll get way more positive attention from one of those than a Rollie, believe me.

4-5k is an awful lot of money just for a few seconds of admiration. Unless you're CEO'ing , it really isn't worth it.

Also, where are the pics…?

Even IF I recognize the watch on your wrist there is 95% chance I won't ask you about it just to avoid the awkwardness if they turn out to be fake. Still in uni though, one of my containermates has a speedy but it's one of those 12-9-6 with date a 3 models. Had never heard of it so assumed odds of being fake were high.

edit: if I see you wearing a tag I definitely won't say a thing

My dad took my speedy. I'll post it when I get it back. Here are the other 2

It's not the only reason, but I do like the watches to be noticed, like cars, suits, etc.

I want an IWC big pilot as my next watch but now reconsidering to just get another Rolex

I understand it can be awkward, but like that Rolex above gets noticed by everyone like a restaurants, cashiers, out at bars/clubs, the office etc… I can even tell people are mirin' it from afar…

Funny tho that the RS7 is the most expensive of the 3.

If you don't mind going used you can get a Seiko or Orient used on Ebay for less than $100

How much did the 16570 set you back? it's the best value in the roles lineup right now, other models prices seem to be going up daily.

Damn son, I like your collection.

I was tempted to pick up a Bell & Ross last year. I haven't seen much talk about them in this thread, How do you like it?

Please post a wrist shot of the Breitling Avenger too.

4,600 from Tourneau. Not the best place I know but I wanted certainty that I was getting a real polar. I wasn't going to get another watch but I jumped on the 16570 to get a rolex and get that itch scratched.

will post the Breitling as requested tonight when I get home. I like the BR but the polar gets all the wrist time lately.

Its difficult to photograph the different colors in a single picture and do them equal justice.

I LOVE that breitling. IMO it's one of the best dlc watches to come out in quite some time. Surprised it hasn't gotten more attention thus far. I'd like to pick one up eventually, looking at a PAM and a JLC first though.

I really like the avenger. I bought new so it was pretty steep. Still newer version so the used market isn't quite there, at least around me. If I had to do it again I would probably have bought the 16570 first. If you can stand the smaller size at 40mm you can get a real proper piece and have all the value at the preowned price. The polar was $500 cheaper than the Avenger.

HHHNNNNGGGGGGGGHHHHHH

I LOVE that breitling. IMO it's one of the best dlc watches to come out in quite some time. Surprised it hasn't gotten more attention thus far. I'd like to pick one up eventually, looking at a PAM and a JLC first though.
I hate how hard it is to photograph the titanium. The PVD on the Bell is easier to get good shots of. The Breitling website had me sold when I saw the pictures of the Avenger Blackbird 44. Look at the 360 view and you get a good idea of the statement it makes.

Wear My Rolex GMT BLNR daily and have never gotten a compliment on it. I don't work in a business environment though.

Since the Breitling seems to be of interest I have included a couple extra pictures.
