It's not a bad choice at all. I shoot 300 blk a lot, and I use it to hunt. There is some really great ammo out there in that caliber.
Plus you can always get a 5.56 upper down the road.
Spoiler!

I mostly shoot subsonic ammo, which is usually regular old FMJ nothing special plinking ammo. So I buy whatever name brand is the cheapest. Mostly Federal, S&B, Ammo Inc. Subsonic 300 blk is NOT known for being accurate. Some brands are better than others. You'll have to experiment with different types to see what you gun likes. Lots of people say S&B subsonic is horrible, but my gun loves it.
For supersonic hunting ammo, my gun is particularly accurate with LeHigh Defense 115 gr controlled chaos.
I haven't shot groups with the DD enough to know what it likes.

Scenario for you guys.
You enjoy visiting your parents on the weekends. Your parents live exactly 30 minutes from your house but the most direct route requires you to briefly (10 minutes of trip) commute through a neighboring state that you don't have a CCW for.
Do you:
a.) just not carry the days you visit your parents
b.) take the alternate route that keeps you in your state of CCW but adds 15 min to trip
c.) carry anyway and chance a felony
d.) your a ****ing idiot, just get the CCW for the other state as well
I know my option 'd' makes the most sense. But this particular state is a liberal cuck mess and CCW's take a while. For now, in the interum, what would you do?
It isn't so much of me believing something would ever happen, but more of the principle of consistent carry as a habit.

Brownells has good deals on AR parts right now, I'm ordering what I can off of there for my Magpul stuff. My question left is what weight should I use for my A5 buffer tube setup? I think the choices were 3.7 and 4.8 oz? I think I'm going to order a BCM setup, I just need to know which one I should get.

Edit- On BCM's website, I had a choice between 4.7 and 5.6 oz, I choose 5.6 oz.
So I ordered everything except the lower receiver, which I'll get locally, and I need to order a Magpul STR stock. Brownells was sold out of almost every black Magpul stock lol. Too bad, retail is $76 and they had it on sale for $61.

And SOLGW makes a 9 position receiver extension compatible with the Vltor A5 springs and buffers. You get more fine adjustments for stock length. I like it a lot.

I'm not sure how people filing Form 1s is trying to get around the NFA when it comes to Solvent Traps
There are still a few places to source materials from. All of the places with solvent traps or kits either went F4 or shut down.

As a Canadian I'm very jealous creeping this thread but I finally got my firearms license late last year and have a few pew pews now and I'm mad I didn't do it sooner.
I also went shooting for the first time ever late last year and had so much fun even though I just had my .308 at that time.
Can't wait to go out again especially when my pistol finally gets to me hopefully in a couple of months.
Are there any other Canadians that post ITT?

A way to get a silencer without the NFA bs? Or you still have to register it? If you do have to register it what’s the difference in not just buying a traditional can outright?
What’s the process of making a solvent trap a silencer?
