What stopping the ATF from declaring all AR’s are easily convertible to full auto and declaring all AR’s as illegal machine guns subject to confiscation?

This does make one wonder, what exactly do they think their mission statement is? Every action they take is directly aimed at punishing the average citizen.

I'd prefer a traditional SBR setup over a pistol brace too, but I respect people's decision to get a pistol over an SBR. Most people have families and don't want to run the risk of having an SBR illegally. They also might not want to pay and extra $200 and wait 9+ months for an SBR.

I was planning to SBR my 7.62x39 AR Pistol. I will now be SBR-ing it for free. The federal government knows I own firearms, since I have 4 suppressors registered to me.
I hope this is overturned, and that the overreach results in the overthrow of the NFA, but in the meantime I'm taking the free stamp

Just pay the $200 instead of being a shining example of how the ATF ruling worked as designed. You giving them a W by taking the free stamp. Can’t even put up the smallest resistance lol.

Lmao at you clowns with mUh LisT!1!1!
Bruh if you’ve ever bought a gun online, bought a gun at a gunshop with a credit card, posted in firearm ******** groups…list goes on and on and on and on…you’re already on several fking “lists”.
Get a fking grip. Getting your free stamp is 100% not the first thing that will have gotten you on some fking list.
Or just be a bad ass and don’t. You have options.
- Put a 16” barrel on said firearm.
- destroy it
- turn it over to the ATF
- take brace and buffer tube off and have the gun be inoperable (if you read it, they basically word it in a way that since a buffer tube can be shouldered - it’s still a no go)
- keep it as is like a real bad ass and live life as a felon
I’ll just be the fudd who takes his free stamp and moves on with my life.

I'm not sure anyone has said that it's an SBR stamp for certain.
I could be wrong, I just haven't heard for certain that it is, in fact, a free SBR stamp. Last I knew it was supposedly a stamp for a brace.

It has to be for the actual serialized firearm itself.

It has to be for the actual serialized firearm itself.

Have you ever done a Form 1 for an SBR? There could simply be a selection in a drop down for a stabilizing brace.
The verbage is unclear.
"This rule does not affect “stabilizing braces” that are objectively designed and intended as a “stabilizing brace” for use by individuals with disabilities, and not for shouldering the weapon as a rifle. Such stabilizing braces are designed to conform to the arm and not as a buttstock. However, if the firearm with the “stabilizing brace” is a short-barreled rifle, it needs to be registered within 120-days from the date of publication in the Federal Register.
This rule is effective the date it is published in the Federal Register. Any weapons with “stabilizing braces” or similar attachments that constitute rifles under the NFA must be registered no later than 120 days after date of publication in the Federal Register; or the short barrel removed and a 16-inch or longer rifle barrel attached to the firearm; or permanently remove and dispose of, or alter, the “stabilizing brace” such that it cannot be reattached; or the firearm is turned in to your local ATF office. Or the firearm is destroyed."

It just says it needs to be registered. It doesn't say it needs to be registered as an SBR.

Ultimately it PROBABLY is an SBR stamp you get, but nothing I've seen actually say that for certain.
