Yes.

Pretty much any camera from the last 7 years (or more) can take decent pictures (and the micro 4/3 25mm options are all very, very good)

What does the misc think of this?

https://photologo.co/

Signature watermarks, made by someone else basically. My signature is absolutely horrid, yet I find signatures as watermarks to be much classier than a logo. However how legitimate is a watermark signature that you can't actually sign to match?

Sigma Art all the way. Presently as good as it gets. Not sure how you feel about filters but I'd budget for at least one – of high quality – for good measure.

Just my 2 cents…

It's always a good idea to eyeball the background and either hide something distracting with the composition or clone it out later. It's not like a famous landmark or a landscape where cloning distorts reality.

In this case it's just a door on a wall in a car park that could be anywhere. For me the white door takes the eye away from the mirror. I'd clone it out.

Thanks for the suggestions. Makes more sense to pay more at first then to have to buy another one when I'm not happy with a $100 or $200 one.

Good call, I agree with you and didn't really even get caught on it until you said something – I also deleted the secondary mirror as that thing bugs me too, simple 5 second content aware fill so it's not perfect but if you're not looking for it you won't think about it.

Here are the rest of the photos from yesterday, the album is about 30 photos.. I was just practicing around with car photos having fun, getting to practice with a Lamborghini Aventador doesn't hurt though, I wish I had that kind of money!

And here's the shot without the door, nice catch. Since I already had the album uploaded and was worried someone might like the photo I edited it very quickly, it's not perfect in either edited location but not really something that sticks out.

I sort of feel like I'm spamming this thread posting photos this often but I was happy to find it… I wonder if we started a fresh one soon if it would be more active.

Anyhow, I Uncle Bob'd a friends wedding the other day… I want to get into shooting weddings and I knew beforehand they did not pay anyone to shoot it so there was no etiquette issue in bringing my camera. I didn't get perfect shots or much of the bride in the ceremony (I was sitting with everyone else and staying out of the way) but I think some of these turned out pretty decent. I have been trying to find ways to have some wedding related photos in my portfolio before actually shooting one, I haven't found anyone I'd like to second shoot for yet but I am going to take the reigns at my friends wedding in October, he's super chill and laid back (entire family) so it's a perfect opportunity to get my feet wet with less pressure (and still make a couple grand at the same time). I lucked out with my friend's too because it's a pretty scenic venue that I can actually pull some awesome photos out of no problem, I had always worried my first would be some ridiculously cheap looking banquet room somewhere or the court house. (lol)

The entire idea of shooting a wedding terrifies me without second shooting at least a few times but I honestly think I could nail it pretty well it's simply getting the courage together for the first knowing it's possible to blow someone's big day.

Here's the album (Color and Black & White versions for most photos, I'm more obsessed with black and white than most people I know so I had to include both).
https://www.********.com/media/set/?...1&l=2750c04f97

Here are a few shots from the album, ******** photos so they've lost some quality.
All shot with Sony A7Rii and Sony 90mm Macro G lens.

I did some studying on wedding photography and can suggest this: you can offer to assist an established wedding photographer and learn from him. Just be reliable and do as you're told. It's also a good way to get references and gigs.

Also, if you only learn one thing about wedding photography know that weddings are ALL ABOUT THE BRIDE. Always make her look good and there are also techniques on how to "slim down" the larger individuals. She is the STAR of the show.

B b but, RED RING!!?!?

I'm srsly considering getting the 6D mk II. Already have a FF fiddy, fisheye and 70-300, but will need a wide angle. Not sure if a 24-105 is a priority, as I hardly ever use my 18-55 on my 700D. FF wide angles are not cheap. :'(

Agreed, I mentioned second shooting for other established photographers around here but haven't found any I particularly like yet… I'm friends with one of the most popular and established in the area but he's already got his wife as a second shooter / partner and to be honest I think I take significantly better photos than they do and they've been doing it for over 10 years / make their entire living off of it. I'll have a good time shooting my buddies coming up I think but would really like to seek out the big $3000-4000+ jobs in the future just don't have the balls to go at it without second shooting a couple times first (and that's just smart in general) I've done a lot of research and know a lot of the ins and outs but nothing prepares you like actually DOING it for sure!

Exactly why there's a lot more here to learn than just photography. Its about environments, situations, organization, circumstances and mostly how to deal with people. Good luck.

thanks for the advice, don't go forums as much as I used too but its always nice to read up on everyones adventures and such.

found a used one for 600 around here but maybe he has some leeway on the price but 600 is still very much a deal for the sigma

Edit: went to a camera shop in my area and they had the new sigma 24-70 and FUK it's so nice. They're quite bulky but man the quality is unbelievable

Years ago I would have said spend some time learning the ropes as a 2nd shooter but these days every weekend warrior and their dog is doing wedding photography and charging peanuts. Might as well just back yourself to deliver the goods.

The most important thing IMO is to have a backup camera. Even if you're doing it for next to nothing no one will want to hear your excuses if your camera stops working. Also a good idea to have a backup standard lens like a 50 prime which doesn't take up much space in a bag just in case your workhorse zoom smashes all over the pavement. And the usual extra batteries and memory cards.

Unless you're quite skilled shooting candids from a distance with a tele and still getting nice framing without people's heads in the frame don't be afraid to assert yourself on a paid shoot. Step in front of people dangling their phones in the aisle to get the shot. No one will care about their blurry low res hit and miss efforts — they'll want to see the pro photos. Group shots also require some planning so it's a good idea to get a family member or friend to help you there and get the largest group shot first before everyone leaves. Then go through all the combinations.

Lastly spend some time thinking about posing. Unless you want to make some brides look like a linebacker don't shoot them with shoulders square to the camera. Ditto for shooting subjects too low and accentuating a double chin burger. If the groom or his groomsmen don't know where to put their hands, tell them to put them in their pockets. Many wedding photos have that Weekend at Bernie's look with arms hanging straight down.

I could go on but I'm sure you'll figure it out. Just be confident and if you don't know what you're doing never let anyone know that. Try to think a step ahead so you're always giving clear instructions while still interacting with the B&G and keeping things friendly rather than constantly having your head buried in the LCD chimping and tweaking settings.

I've never photographed people before, she said they would appreciate me taking some pictures even if they do find someone to hire in time, she is worried that the 3 minute time window of the solar eclipse will make it hard to get all the shots they may want.

Example of work www.500px.com/chadberens not sure where she gets wedding photographer from.

If the wedding photographs don't hinge on me, I think it would be a good challenge to diversify a little, or reaffirm my landscape focus. Anyone have any advice/tips for shooting with an eclipse? I have a couple shots in mind but have no idea where the venue is or much of anything about the wedding, so I can't plan out anything, I figure I will just hover on the outskirts taking shots, more large scale focus rather than an individual focus.
