Fuark been a while but it's good to be back on the misc.

In the time I've been gone I picked up a Seiko manual wind from about the 60s or 70s in really good nick for about $150, and recently a JLC travel clock for about $350AUD (srs). The clock is working nicely but the alarm is kinda broken in that the bell thingo seems to be broken off from the actual ringing mechanism - the ringing mechanism works fine and just makes a buzzing noise now. Gonna head to a watchmaker bloke tomorrow and get it looked at.

Here it is (sorry for ant-sized quality):

Si vis pacem, para bellum.

Not a clue (EUbrah). But I can say you made the right choice of watch. These have been made since the early 70s (even then with VJ7750!) and are design classics!
Orfina(Porsche Design), Tutima, Heuer, Fortis they all made these cases and I love em.

$350 is a lot for these, nvm I saw AUD. carry on.

The alarm always just buzzes brah, there's nothing broken. That's why they call these cricket alarms.

Thoughts on seiko sarb033?

50 hr power reserve. For $300 I'm thinking it might be higher quality than a similarly price ETA. Looks plain but quality as fuk

They are generally good. HOWEVER, the Sinn subforum on WUS has had a ton of complaints about quality control. Many users are sending their watches in for service before the 2 year warranty ends. Their base model, the 556, isn't even a "real sinn", in my opinion. Sinn is known for their technology. That watch has none.

I prefer Damasko. Their base model has some nice qualities that deserves the price it's being asked for.

That's a good idea. Do they even make 16mm bunds? but I don't mind it so much, with my 7" wrists. It's just so far from these two:

Here's a big to little collection lineup. It even makes the vintage seamaster and the 34mm airking look decent sized.

I like it. Think it works, although I am a smaller watch fan. The strap looks pretty true to form as well
