Lol at marriage. It's a lose lose for the man every time. If you're with a woman that picks the stay at home and raise the kids route, you're totally fuked if she divorces you. Since you were the sole provider you'll have to continue paying her after the divorce to live very close to, or the same lifestyle she was used to while married to you.

Is the small perks of marriage (what's really the benefit? I see people always saying tax breaks?) really worth the gigantic gamble you take if chit doesn't work out? It's not even a gamble though. If you don't get divorced you don't gain anything that you wouldn't have if you didn't get married. I'm not getting married and never will. I think it's a waste of fuking money and it's not necessary imo. Common law is just as good. I'll still be fuked if we split up since we have a kid and mortgage together so what's the point of getting married? Are people really willing to gamble half of everything they've earned on the chance that the marriage lasts until you or her die?

Edit - I sound kind of salty. I'm not against marriage or hate women but I just think marriage is overrated and not necessary. I'm sure theirs miscers that are happily married and I'm happy for them. Just not my choice. But I'm gay so who cares what I think.

This is a good point. More and more often I'm hearing women in their 30's complain about American/Canadian/UK/Aussie men marrying foreign brides, including their brothers, cousins and ex-Chad FWB.

I have to laugh every time I hear some used up sloot say "I saw ANOTHER good looking guy with a (insert foreign country/continent) woman today, there goes another good one".

Very well put my man, frighteningly accurate for many women I've come across, and only getting worse with social media.

Women are by and large happier starting families and finding mates; much more so than men...it is simply biology. No one is stating that they can't do whatever they want. The argument revolves around the effect that social conditioning has played on today's generation of women who are being force-fed the idea that they don't need a husband/kids and can enjoy a fulfilling life of work instead (LOL). This may be the chosen path for some women (the minority); but you're seeing a lot of women who would be much happier with a man/children who have chosen to decline these things because of societal bull****. The reality is that for the most part being a "man" isn't all its cracked up to be; which is why men die younger, kill themselves at disproportionately greater rates, are much more prone to depression and mental illness, etc. The idea that "career advancement" can replace motherhood is a complete fallacy.

Men and women relationships here at an all time low and will get lower. as much as we all hate to admit it, chad is as much of an asshat for the 80/20 bullshyt. I said that once and they all went NC on me for a while. I think it's because deep down too many women are idealistic instead of pragmatic. That's the general reason fuk boys exist. If people stopped dreaming about and chasing people out of their leagues, 90% of relationship whining on places like the misc would be solved.

No one in their right mind would take working over staying at home.

I would stay at home in a heartbeat if I could find someone who would support me (ha). Instead most men would rather take my salary because how would I make up for $115K a year staying home?

I stayed home for 3 years and it was wonderful to have that time to bond, and SO much less stress. A lot of that was due to the economy, though, as I had a tough time finding work. Now to wake up and have to rush to work to be there on time, deadlines and people yelling at you, hundreds of emails an hour, if you make a mistake people yell at you, why would I sign up for that? Then the only time to work out is late at night.

Weekends you battle crowds to go grocery shopping and rush do laundry try to get it all done by Sun night.

But many of these women haven't met the right guy and they realize how tough it is to be. If they really don't want kids, then that's good news.

Better than many women I know who have children because they think they have to, and complain nonstop about what brats their kids are.

I also know many, many couples who are married without children and have no desire for them. They travel a lot, have high powered careers and most treat their cats like children.

Personally I wouldnt want kids before 35 at the earliest (so many things I wanna do before that) so I can't blame her. I know its different in America where people have kids far earlier and also have far more compared to Europe where it isnt uncommon to become a parent in the mid 40's
