Was in a cab with a 35yo woman

I like to strike up conversations with strangers to hear potentially interesting stories so we got talking. After a few mins we got to the topic of marriage since I mentioned I had a bunch of weddings coming up this year, and how I was 'at that age' where everyone was getting married.

She said it was funny because neither her or any of her girl friends (all around her age) were in LTRs and were all single. I didn't wanna get too personal about whether they wanted kids or not, but asked if the reason was because they couldn't find a decent guy to settle with. She said no, not really, they all just seemed content being single with their careers.

I guess it's a weird reaction, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for them. I'm sure at age 35 they're still able to hook up with (even) younger guys, but I wondered in my mind if they realized their biological clock was running out of time (they must right). She made it sound like there were 5+ of them in the same situation, so I can't believe they all are content with never having kids.

She said she didn't know if that was normal or not and kinda laughed about it. I said I think it depends on where she was from, and she said San Diego. I blame modern feminism and extreme liberal messages for this sort of outcome. I just sat there thinking she was gonna be pretty old and lonely in a few years.

The flaw in your logic is thinking that all career women want kids and a family. Some are so driven that the job and titles are all that matter. This is especially true of advanced degree( MD/jd/phd) women climbing the corporate ladder

Lots of people dont want a spouse or kids.

I dont want either one. How do you doom yourself to spending EVERY DAY of the REST OF YOUR LIFE with ONE PERSON? There's no escape. You even share the same bed.

I'm 99.9999..% sure that one day I'd be like **** it and just kill everyone in the house. Why? Because why not. It's like 50 years of not doing that.. What is one day of difference.

So I'm definitely not getting married or having kids

I know a woman who is a little over 60 and never had kids or held down a LTR because she focused on herself and her career. I'll tell you she is miserable. She looks at me like a daughter and my children as her grandkids. She's trying to fill the void

It's sad that it's the educated relatively higher class people (i.e. Successful businesswomen) who don't reproduce as much. More I get older, more I'm part of the MGTOW approach, if I do get married it'll be in my late 30s if that. So only the poor uneducated people will reproduce at faster rates. I just don't believe that careers can ultimately provide the same fulfillment as building a family could (especially for women). It's fighting an intense natural biological urge.

It's possible that she will regret her decision in 10-15 years, but it's also possible that she just doesnt want a husband and kids. I don't want kids but I do want to settle down in some shape or form within the next 5 years. I don't think it's the "liberals" who made me not want to have kids. In fact I would argue that it's the truly conservative choice not to have kids in 2016.

As a 31 year old man, you have plenty of time to change your mind. Even at 35, it isn't analogous to a woman at that age. And like I said, you can't compare men to women in this arena, apples and oranges.

there are 3 and a half billion women in the world, most/nearly all definitely want to get married and have kids or something of that sort but there will always be the exception. everyone assumes that these women are miserable but you'll never know for sure, they might truly be happy and not want kids but of course miscers will just scream and cry 'cope'

Ye, it's possible she was an outlier, but like I said she said she was in the same situation as a bunch of her friends. This scenario is getting more and more common.
