Just graduated with stem degree. Vast majority (75%+) of people in my class/major are unemployed or not employed within their field.

Then everyones obsessed/feels obligated to travel.

Exactly what I'm talking about. Glad someone else understands the insane society we live in.

I know people who literally do nothing all day long and get paid for it. I don't know where the money comes from or why they even have a job in the first place. Meanwhile most people in my profession have to work 60-80 hours a week to make ends meet. Crazy world we live in.

Dufug? $20/h for a jr sys admin? I know entry level desktop techs that make more than that. So if you are only making that much as a Sys Admin, no way you are coming close to $80k/year anytime soon. In my area Sr Sys admins with 10+ years experience make about $80k and Engineers make about $90K, which is why I commute every day.

It's a job that is required for society to function too. The pay is about 1-2 dollars an hour more than it was 20 years ago. Wages are stagnant for many professions. It's funny too because I have friends that have jobs like "synergy effective specialist" for startups and **** like that and they make 100k a year. Yeah man. Wages have not kept up with the cost of living because of terrible trade policies that destroyed American jobs and mass immigration that diluted the labor market and forced everyone to work for a pittance.

Have some jobs been fine? Yes, of course. Work in STEM. We know, we know. Everyone should be engineers and doctors. Then they would be fine. 75 million Millennial engineers is just what we need. That's only a 3500% increase in engineers. Surely that wouldn't do anything negative to the job market for engineers. Everyone would just be an engineer. Everyone would get awesome jobs at Google and be living the high life.

The reality, and I still haven't seen anyone even make an attempt to refute it, is that mass immigration and poor trade deals have completely destroyed the labor market for the Millennial generation. Good paying jobs that were readily available for previous generations are no longer there. The jobs have either disappeared, been shipped overseas or to Mexico; or they pay very little due to how many people we have in the country who are willing to do them.

What about tradesman jobs?

In the end it's all about supply and demand. You can adapt or LDAR because the world is getting smaller, human progress marches on, and the genie isn't going back into the bottle.

Gunpowder ruined the labor market for a generation of prospective archers, and all the struggles of those peasant boys are but a footnote in history.

The world doesn't owe you anything so you either go out and take it, or accept that you're collateral damage in the march of human progress.

Nailed it. I am a millennial as well, I have found myself reducing my overall monthly cost a ton. Dropped cellphone bill to prepaid, cooking in and eating healthier, saving bills here and there. (spending more upfront on items) instead of buying cheap stuff that breaks. I even bought a massive home and rent out 2 rooms to college guys and it pays 90% of my house mortage/bills/utilities also invested in firestick and loaded kodi. No cable here.

I make good money, but by myself i'd struggle just a bit. Not due to money but the price of things.
