The argument here is that your mindset is not the determining factor in succeeding in competitive endeavors. Everyone in the Olympics has a winning mindset, but only one person gets the gold medal.
The argument here is not self acceptance or happiness.
I never said to do nothing. I'm advocating for taking calculated risks without being overly optimistic like most Americans are brainwashed to be.
Even if all of were to set your minds to becoming CEO of a top fortune 500 companies, 99% of you won't make it because you lack the connections, the family history, and the smartness.
You're delusional if you think the contrary.
A top woman boxer can have whatever mindset she wants, she will not beat Tyson fury or Wilfred Dontay.
Most of you won't be millionaires inspite of your efforts.
Most of you will not experience upwards socioeconomic mobility . It's just numbers. I would bet all the money I have on it.
Nobody at the Olympics or the NBA is training to lose, but most of them lose in spite of their mindset.
This is the argument
Just FYI,

What you are outlining here has little to do with anything. Basically what you're saying is thatextreme cases of success are extreme.

But you're literally not putting forth much of an argument.

I don't need to be the next Bill Gates to consider myself successful.

My goals are as follows;
-Make enough money to afford all of my "no-frills" cost of living without stressing
-Be able to learn and participate in multiple hobbies and activities without stressing cost
-Be able to afford to own property
-Be in good shape well into my late adulthood

And if your goals are realistic, and you put in the time, research and effort... why should you not be able to succeed?

Maybe we can't all be CEO 10K/day. But if that's your only metric for success...Then you need to re-evaluate.

That's why you're getting a lot of chit ITT mang

FYI if you invest into your 401K and an IRA, I'm certain you can become a millionaire at the time of retirement so...

I don't even wanna go into how retarded cold approach is.
Most people successful with cold approach ( i.e Good looking guys) are not cold approaching. They are doing hot approaches because the girls are attracted to them and send them signals showing they want to be approached.
Why are people so out of touch with reality?
This is another non-argument, just FYI

Who are you to determine what is and isn't in line with his goals?

How can you determine whether or not he is successful enough elsewhere that he can or cannot invest additional time doing something else?

'All these chicks' - I'm 30 years old, and started talking to random girls during the day properly from maybe age 22. A lay count of 30ish over an 8 year period is like 3 or 4 lays per year, hardly impressive. Although they have all been above average in attractiveness, and a lot of them were regular semi long term f-buddies.

Also, I live in the UK. Most girls here (especially whites) will laugh at you if you look remotely Arab/Indian. We're seen as bottom of the barrel when it comes to dating market value. It's probably less detrimental in the US, since we could pass as latino.

I used to let that chit affect me hard - even ugly black dudes around me were getting action because they had the right look/vibe. But the sooner I took charge of my own chit, improved my mindset/physique/looks, and put in the work, I started to see results.

Now I show up to social gatherings with a new hot girl or gf, and my old slayer friends are settled with 6s and 7s, treating me like I'm some pimp when I'm nothing of the sort. I would've never improved my situation if I stuck with the old negative mindset and didn't make a conscious decision to change things within my control.

'Cold approach' is a gay ass term too. All you're doing is simply hitting on women in a direct manner, ideally when she's given you some sort of signal of interest - something which would be impossible to notice and execute if you're walking around depressed and hating the universe.
Never take it personal, even when it is.

I'm not white. I'm bald, 5'9, and Middle Eastern - I get mistaken for Mediterranean sometimes, but I'm still an ethnic. I'd say looks wise, I stand at the lower end of the sexual dating market in the western world. If I was white or even black, I'd be drowning in poon with what I've learnt.

Also, who looks like jar jar bings?? And why do you need to slay models? This extreme mentality is part of the issue with a lot of incels.

With some work, most men are capable of achieving the 6-8/10 range in looks. If they manage to develop some semi decent social skills, they can usually get laid with girls within a 2 point range. So a 5 who puts himself out there, and can hold a conversation, has a shot at 7s.

Granted, if you're a negative, 5'4 beta male, with no concept of social interactions, then your best hope is a fat wildebeest several points below you in attractiveness. This is why the OP is wrong, because a positive mindset can help MOST people better their situations, whereas a negative mindset is almost always a detriment.

Yes, some people are born deformed and will never develop social skills, thus will never compete in the dating market barring some miracle. But that's not most incels.
I agree with most of what you're saying, just pointing out that neither myself nor OP think mindset is totally worthless.

What we're saying is it doesnt matter as much as people think. Try your best in life but also dont be delusional. Positive thinking doesnt change the cold hard facts of life and your own limitations

You’re missing the point that even you concede is true.

“Everyone in the Olympics has a winning mindset, but only one person gets the gold medal.”

They are all in the Olympics due to their mentality, not in spite of it. That is a huge accomplishment that separates them from 99.999% of people who have ever existed. Just because they aren’t the 1 person that won that event out of the most elite of the 7.6 billion humans on earth doesn’t mean that the mentality to get them to that point is garbage.

If they had a negative mentality and gave up because they finished last in their first race, or never even made it to a race because they never focused enough to swim one length of the pool because it was too difficult, or never even made an attempt because they were a realist and making it to the olympics is such a long shot, they would have accomplished absolutely nothing.

The person who makes the decision to swim one lap, then swim the second one faster, then swim longer, and sticks with swimming may NEVER win a single race.

But along the way, they are healthier physically & mentally, they gain confidence mastering a skill and meet new people with similar interests, they engage in healthy competition which breeds camaraderie. They may have a lifelong activity that they enjoy that keeps them fit, it may lead to other activities like triathlons which may lead to friendships / partnerships that open up unknown opportunities. People respect their dedication, and their confidence in swimming bleeds over into other aspects of their lives. Their life will be better.

You've never seen an attractive girl standing outside in a public spot? Your reality isn't real, it's heavily filtered by your own confirmation bias. You're one of the saddest, most pathetic people I've come across.

Like I already said. Anybody with a brain knows that high level of sport is all about genetics and a lot of investment in development during early years. That's for 98% of top athletes. Confidence is the result of success. Not the other way around.

Yeah, look, if you're asking me to read 7 pages worth of thread the answer is no. The ROI on that is pretty much null.

Self-acceptance, contentment, and happiness aside;

You are still absolutely wrong.

You're talking to a human that ran 12 miles daily for months just to prepare for a fight, specifically because I did not have a vehicle.

I could have told myself "Well, fuk, the other guy has a car and access to the gym 24/7 because of his ability to commute, and I'll be no match for him as a result."

But instead I told myself "The other guy has a car, and he will be weaker for that because I'm going to build the mental fortitude byrunning all the way to my gym before practice."

And I was right. 12 miles a day + training paid off.

So yeah man, opportunity cost or not, mindset is huge.

If you disagree you haven't ever been given the opportunity to see how powerful your mind really is.

Yeah, so when these guys carry on about "the facts" of life and put someone on ignore because they don't like hearing something that doesn't fit their story I just laugh.

I have faced great loss in many ways and my father died recently. There are ways you face each of these events and just walking around talking about facts does no good.

Ok so if I'm not going to be a millionaire would it not be a huge benefit to adjust my MINDSET to learn to feel happy and successful with less? A millionaire can feel unsuccessful compared to a billionaire if they so choose to continually measure themselves against that metric. Thus making mindset a critical component to ones own perceived success and a direct contradiction to your overall argument. Can you understand this? If so, just apply to everything else in life.

And I agree that a positive mindset has limits, no one is preaching some The Secret type chit here. But you and the OP are really downplaying it. Delusional confidence over negative apathy any day, as long as there is a focused effort to achieve a goal. Countless military figures in history have proven this.

I'd still disagree. The rules have not changed. If you are above average in looks, don't suck the life out of conversations, and ask women out then you will get laid.

The better looking you are, the better your effort to success ratio will be exponentially.

Who was statistics ?
Anyways I'm not advocating to give up. I'm just advocating for calculated risks.
I'm a broke premed student who has 4.00 gpa and who still manages to volunteer at an hospital despite being homeless. Just because I can succeed, it doesn't mean it's established.
The height of humanity has been it's tenacity, and here you are claiming n=1 on it

Calculated risks...Calculated. You're bringing into this discussion a concept that is outside of the discussion. Here is why;

Let's say Johnny is adept with numbers but really hates accounting, which is his day job. Johnny could, theoretically, continue to advance with his natural number talent. After all, that would be where Johnny is most successful, right?

But what if Johnny wanted to become a personal trainer? What if Johnny could make a lateral move salary wise, and become a successful P/T? He would be exponentially happier, and perhaps be more motivated to do more to advance. While he might not be the most adept at the concepts, he would have a significantly higher interest and thusly a higher rate of retaining info.

Where would the opportunity cost be for Johnny there? Would it be in the time it takes Johnny to rebuild? Or would it be in the time that Johnny could have been making more money? Or maybe it has less to do with money?

Feel free to let me know what Johnny is missing out on.

I have faced great loss in many ways and my father died recently. There are ways you face each of these events and just walking around talking about facts does no good.
Sorry for your loss Bobby, hope that everyone has been able to come together during this time of hardship. If I can do anything, please do not hesitate to let me know.

I think a lot of people have an interpretation of life that is biased toward whether or not they feel like they're being handed the short end of the stick if that makes sense.

Unfortunately with women it is that way. At least in the last 3 years.
A new paper came out saying that women ( mother and daughters) do not care much about personality if a good looking guy is an option. I will link it later when I get to the library.
Even biological speaking, women only reproduced with the top men.
It's believed that only 40% of men reproduced through humans evolution , 80% of women ...

Nah man, genetic filth can procreate just as well. Darwin was wrong.

This post is reality.

Like the post above saying "just hit on women bro it works", yea it works for men women find desirable, otherwise you get accused of harassment.

The minute a chick suspects I'm interested in her she runs like the wind. They dont want that from low tier men

Johnny would lose the money he could have made while rebuilding. If he were to never make the same amount of money as a PT, he would lose the extra money he could have made as an accountant because he was not too adept.
Being a PT has more to do with your communication and social skills than accounting.
If he's not very good at those, I would not advise him to follow the PT route if money is the only factor here. But if happiness is the factor here he could do his PT thing. In fact he can even do it for free if he enjoys it so much

But that's exactly my point;

From a success stand-point, measuring the metric at making X dollars is incredibly subjective.

Think about it; what's your "magic number"? What amount of money would automatically make you successful (in your opinion)?

I totally agree with your point here, but that's not the point of this thread. For 1 billionth time.
To go back to the point.
Talking about tenacity and the survival bias and the optimism ingrained in our brains.
Imagine your tribe has 1k people.
Your food is a little low until the next season, but across a river with dangerous animals there is a territory with a lot of food .
Crossing is dangerous.
In the past 100 people atempted and only 2 made it.
People keep on trying and the success rate doesn't go above 2%.
The 2 who made it are revered for their tenacity and courage , but the other 48 are forgotten. That's how it is with people most of the time

Uwotm8. I've lived in majorly white areas in the UK for a decent amount of time, think 85-90% white population. Seen plenty of pakistani, indian, and arab brahs slay.

The only ones I've seen that struggled were the brahs who didn't speak english that well and didn't interact much outside their community.

Even my indian brah, who spoke with a thick accent, did fine.

Most of society doesnt understand survivorship bias.

It's just basic logic. All As are Bs, doesn't mean B causes A

So your point is thatsome people are just elite and there is no amount of effort you can put in to match them?

Really just trying to clarify here because you keep going back to this.

I mean, if that's your point, sure. There's always a brah out there who is just way better at everything you're good at.

But what the hell does that even mean?

If it's not preventing you from living a successful and productive life, what's the point in even addressing it?

I mean, it kind of becomes asinine at that point.
