I used to shoot some USPSA.

There’s a club down the road about 2-3 miles that shoots IDPA once a month so I’m going to shoot the January match. Not super familiar with all their rules but I know they are pretty lame.

Think I’ll shoot a Glock 17 for it. I guess I need one of those gay vests for concealment. Any recs?

Shoot what and how you daily carry, that's supposed to be the point.

And that’s why I’m shooting a Glock. I usually carry a 19 but that fits in the BUG class. I’m going to shoot SSP hence why I’ll use one of my 17s.

But I don’t wear one of those boomer vests and you need one.

I’m sure Meatie will be the one actual helpful person and recommend something badass.

It just has to be concealed. Wear an unzipped hoody.
Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.

You don't have to buy a "I'm not carrying a gun, I swear!" [not]concealed vest to shoot idpa.

Just started the process to get my pistol permit last night, here’s how I did on quals

Spoiler!

10 rounds seated, 10 standing. Never fired while sitting down before so it was awkward af, rounds all over the place. Standing, I managed to aim a lot better and was far more consistent. Still need work tho

You should have just taken the evaluation from like 3 yards in front of the target. You probably would have grouped closer and I guess moving distances doesn't count as modifying it at all.

FYI the 15% off part dropped away, mine shows $108 shipped for the 4 now. Still...these things were pushing $50 each back shortly after the VP9 came out. So...yeah. Now is the time...HK mags at Glock prices...yes please

Yeah I ended up not ordering those because as I sat them in my cart wanting them for the deal but knowing I don't need them, the code stopped working on them. I suppose they did not intend to stack such a deal with the 15%

Have you ever heard of Promag? Worth a damn? Apparently there are VP9 mags for $19 on gun mag warehouse. Rando search popped them up.

Target says Connecticut.

CT is May Issue for carry and requires proof of (specific) handgun training to quality. So probably that.

I saw that (Connecticut), but apparently they need a class to get a pistol purchase permit as well. Unless I'm reading this wrong..

https://portal.ct.gov/BFPE/Common-El...y-Certificates
5. What is a gun eligibility certificate and how does it differ from a gun permit?

Anyone buying or acquiring a handgun in Connecticut must present one of three credentials. One of these is an eligibility certificate; the others are a permit to carry and a dealer's permit. An eligibility certificate authorizes someone to acquire handgunsbut (with very limited exceptions) not to carry them outside of his or her home or business. A gun permit is required to carry handguns (CGS §§ 29-33 & 29-36g).

6.What are the criteria for getting an eligibility certificate?

As is the case with the gun permit, an applicant must pass a state-approved course in handgun safety and use, pass state and national criminal history record checks, and meet other criteria specified in law. But unlike the case with the gun permit, there is no requirement for the official to determine that an applicant is suitable or wants to obtain firearms for lawful purposes (CGS § 29-36g).
edit: I initially asked because he said he used a .22, and the Concealed class near me doesn't allow .22 (though that may just be this facility, not a regulation)
