Black tank top, FTW. No emo kids are rocking tank tops.
Nice. I've done Judo as a kid too. Switched to Karate and eventually switched to a more direct Muay Thai and Boxing. The later two being kind of expensive tho, I had to do it on and off sadly but Boxing is definitely my favorite discipline. You got an amateur record in BJJ yet?

Where do you buy yours? I used to like the cheap Mossimo ones at Target but now that they are gone I had to look around more and its mind blowing how most t-shirt are tailored for out of shape body. Its either too loose around my waist or the damn thing is too short and is almost a crop top. Zara got some good fitting chit tho.

Massimos. It blows they aren't around any more over here.

American Eagle's got some too and it's less gay if you wear a plain T. Maybe I'll try Baby GAP until I get to a buck 70.

Hey guys, what do you think of this… I have been noticing that the past little while I have been

1) struggling to lose weight and slowy gaining
2) getting really sore joints. Sore hips, sore elbows, etc…

Then last weekend I was traveling, and I ate a sandwich from tim hortons which is a LOT more carbs/wheat than I usually eat. That night, I swear every joint hurt. Even my knuckles hurt. I thought at first it was because I stopped taking creatine.

But the more I thought about it the more I wondered if it was a wheat issue. The Christmas before last I got REALLY sick and ended up in the hospital multiple times. When I finally recovered, I appeared to have a wheat intolerance (There are a LOT of gluten/wheat issues in my family), but over time it seemed to lessen/ go away. That was last summer that I started letting myself eat wheat again and it was since last summer that I started gaining weight.

So I stopped eating wheat on Saturday. And I am down 6lbs. I never ate much wheat as it was, but I may have had it one a day or whatever. I timbit, or some crackers, a wrap, cereal…

This all in my head or what? Could something as small as that cause that much difference?

Nope. Only been to BJJ classes.

All the serious comps I've done have been wrestling (in school & college) and Judo.

Could be many things but here are my top guess:

-Estrogen level. You're a woman so obviously you have higher estrogen level and higher estrogen are linked to sensible joints. This is why women are much more prone to ACL tears for example.
-Diet. Maybe too high in sodium and carbs coupled with not enough water wil cause dryer joint. You stopping creatine could definitely have something to do with it. Did you adjust your water intake accordingly? Creatine's main role is to cause water retention in the muscle thus reducing joint pain by keep the muscles well hydrated.

Wheat and even dairy intolerance may also very well be at play. Many people think that if they don't puke their guts after ingesting it then it means they are not intolerant. This is so wrong its not even funny. There are definitely people out there who will experience mild symptoms when ingesting one the two or both and should therefore limit or eliminate their consumption of either products. If I were you, I would try to go a month or two without wheat and see if you can notice any difference.

I did that with dairy and then started taking it again and to my surprise I did notice a lot of differences. ie: Greasier hair/skin, facial redness, pimples on face/back, higher water retention, bloating, flatulence. I'm not intolerant to the point of it affecting my life at all and will still indulge in baked goods and pizza but its definitely good to know about its effect on me both fitness and lifestyle wise.

So, for the creatine, when you take it, you should be increasing water intake. Because, like you said, it needs to have the water to flood the muscle. I drink a lot of water whether I am taking it or not. I started taking the creatine again on Thursday. I am not using a product that has a loading phase, so I'm not sure how fast it is active in my system. I am terrible and only use it on days that i lift too… Eep…

I'm going to stay off of wheat for at least another month and see what happens. Its an easy elimination for me anyway. If that is the reason that i have been so bloated and gaining weight and sore, i'm gonna be stoked!!!

So I went to Windsor yesterday for a comp. Weather was holding up until I had to compete and the sky opened up and within minutes I was soaked, like jumped into a pool soaked. Well that was a waste of time.

How was everyone's weekend?

On dat dere poverty bed.

Also it does depend on how you sleep. Back, side, stomach, fetal position. Just go to a Sleep Country, ask around and feel out some beds.

True, but you got a good 8" (vertically) on me. I got my inches elsewhere.

Yeah I'm taller and wider (other then that fat wide).

No, no weight class so you could see a 100lbs difference between some guys at meets. Just have to throw a metal ball as far as possible.

You probably need to compensate for mobility or something too though, right? Otherwise it'd be a good reason to weigh 600lbs.

Yeah for a guy of my size I move pretty well. I'd move a lot better if I was a bit lighter. Each person varies on how they throw. For all of the guys on my team we all threw different but we all threw far which is all that mattered.
