Congratulations on signing Pierre Garcon, he is a solid player, and puts it all on the line every play.

I think it was 103 before cutting martin, so 104 as of this morning? Garcon, Goodwin, Juczyk, Hoyer later added on. I'll wait for the contract details. Brooks would free 5.3 mill, Brock 3.5 mill.

I think they'll let Brooks compete for a spot in training camp.

looks like we're close to signing Malcolm Smith, and the Goodwin deal is pretty much done.

I'm liking the activity. Seems like they're targetting specific guys and SF isn't exactly the FA black hole most pundits were making us out to be.

So far we supposedly have hauled in:

Garcon - our new #1 WR. Not as dominant you would hope a #1 guy is and probably not going to command a lot of double teams but he should match the production of what Boldin did for us his first few years. We desperately needed this.

Goodwin - the new speedster. had a decent season last year under the Bills and hopefully will continue to get better.

Hoyer - honestly I'm not much of a fan but he's better than Schuab so that's a plus. Hopefully we still get Cousins but if not I'm fine with him running the offense for a year.

Kyle J - lol I need to get used to his last name. Dude is our new Tom Rathmaa/William Floyd. Ravens did a lot with him and I expect we do too considering the amount we are paying him. The fullback is back!!!

Malcolm Smith - meh. Hopefully someone beats hims out and he's just a quality backup. However he knows the defensive system so he will probably be starting.

Cant wait to see who else we will sign. I like how we are going after our needs so we can draft more BPA.

Let's just call Kyle Juice and make it easy on ourselves lol. I'm never learning that fuking spelling. Justzczyk?…Mister Mxyzptlk's cousin?

I don't think the plan is for Garcon to be #1 guy, at least I hope not. I think he'll be a solid vet #2 guy who may act like our #1 only by necessity. I have a feeling we may still try to sign Alshon or Pryor or target someone in the draft to be that #1 guy. I LOVE Corey Davis and would love to have him in a trade down.

This draft has some sneaky WR talent. Outside of Davis and Mike Williams there are some guys who may turn into very good receivers. I really really like Zay Jones and the kid is helping himself big time. I wanted him in the 3rd round but the offseason he's had we may be lucky to see him at our 2nd rounder.

Good for Torrey, classy guy.

I'm guessing Garcon will be the #2 WR and play that Boldin veteran role to help out the younger guys. If they don't take Alshon i wonder if there will even be a #1 otherwise I think it's a solid corp with Garcon, Kerley, and Goodwin, Ellington on the slot?

Heard they're interest in Martellus Bennett, I can imagine him blocking his brother twice a year, that'd be fun.

At this point I don't want Bennett. There is some serious TE talent in this class and I think Juice may be moved around and play some TE for us.

Also…has any player fuked up his career more in recent memory than Aldon Smith?

This may turn out to be nothing for him since he wasn't driving but this can't be a good look for him

http://www.ktvu.com/sports/240552017-story

Not driving but clearly still drinking and putting himself in stupid situations. What a waste of fuking talent.

LB Malcolm Smith's deal w/ SF a strong one: Five years, $26.5 million with $13m guaranteed, source says. (Up from his $3.5 per year w/ Oak.)
11:09 AM - 9 Mar 2017

Not sure what his real value is but it will be nice to have a decent LB to be next to Bowman.

Anyone have any clue on how much money the team spent or what is left?

It also sounds like Phil Dawson will go bye bye…

I was just reading about that… I am guessing Baalke? Sad to say it he did it to himself when he got work done on his ankle and didn't inform the team (or whatever happened).

I don't know how the contracts were arranged but on average Juice 5 mill/yr, Goodwin 4mill, Hoyer 6mill, Smith 5 mill, Garcon is front loaded so who knows. Probably around 75 right now give or take assuming it's distributed evenly.

Marcus Martin claimed by Browns. Man that was a disappointment I had high hopes for him.

Definitely Baalke. Seems like a lot more stuff than we thought was going on behind the scenes.

Blows looking back at how many picks we had and how little we have to show for it at this point.

I do like what we're doing in free agency right now. Definitely a lot more active than we ever have been under Baalke but the moves aren't over the top signings like the Jags/Skins/Browns. Solid vets, contracts that aren't crazy over the top. Basically adding players who won't kill us later salary cap wise but bringing in locker room guys who can add depth or start if need be.

Allows us to slow play Kirk Cousins and go BPA in the draft. I still wouldn't be upset if we grabbed one of the big name free agents but seems like we're going easy this year. I have a feeling some of these contracts are super front loaded so we pay these guys big early and have smaller cap hits moving forward which is a good idea to take the big hit while we have a ton of cap room and give us more room later for the big money contracts.

Boy talk about a busy first day. 9 free agents signed i think?

I like the Aldrick Robinson signing. Though I think the only guy guaranteed a spot from the receivers we signed so far is Garcon.

Matt Barkley is a decent signing as well. Obviously we needed to fill out the roster with nobody signed. Now we can head into the draft and pick our shots. Whether it's QB with #2 overall, QB in a trade down or QB later in the draft we'll be alright this year.

Curious to see what happens. Even with Cousins being a real possibility next year I'd hope if we felt strong enough about a rookie prospect that we pull the trigger regardless of what happens with Cousins.

I am extremely excited to see how this is coming together. One thing I like is that they are bringing in some people who have worked with Kyle in the past and know his system. Sure they may not be super great signings but the fact that they know what will be going on helps in the long run. You bring in vets who know the systems and help the new/younger guys adapt to it.

I remember how the Pats dynasty started. I remember my friends saying a lot of "who?" when Belichick started signing free agents and drafting players.

Here's hoping we come even close to what they were able to accomplish. Obviously getting Tom Brady was the biggest boost for them but adding guys Belichick worked with before who weren't exactly studs but understood the system helped them let Brady mature into what he became.

You bring in good locker room guys who understand the game and fit well into the scheme and then draft players who can give you youth and athletic ability who can learn from the vets and get you impact players.

We all want the big name players but it's clear we're not ready for "all in" situation where we go heavy into free agency.

So the more I watch these guys in this draft class the more and more I'm falling in love with Solomon Thomas at #2 if Garrett is gone(which he will be, even the Browns can't fuk that up)

While I want Thomas at #2 if he's gone I will be fine with us drafting either Trubisky or Watson, mostly because of Kyle Shanahan. If we grab one of those guys it tells me Kyle thinks high enough of them to take that high. I'm starting to lean more towards Watson because I was impressed with how he looked in his drops at the combine and the fact that he has that clutch factor which you can't teach. If we draft him I'd be excited to see what Shanahan can do with him.

I also would be cool with a trade down but I just don't see it happening at this point.

Some people are questioning whether Thomas is a scheme fit but while he may not be what is traditionally the "Leo" role fit I think he has the ability to do it despite not matching the typical type. That guy moves scary fast for his weight. Definitely would love to have this kid on our squad.

i'd be cool with Solomon Thomas at #2. I'd even be ok with Johnathan Allen. I'm of the mindset that you find a way to get talented guys on the field. If they can collapse the pocket, press the edges, etc, you find a way to make it work.

And I'm still not sold any of the QBs.

The fact that the got Hoyer tells us there is no hurry to take a QB in the draft. I say they build up that defense first through the draft and FA. I think Shanahan can do more with less on offense anyway so if they get anyone on offense I'm hoping it's a guard.

Agreed. I'd love for us to get Peterman in the 3rd or Mahomes in the 2nd(great development prospect)

I won't be mad if we grabbed Watson or Trubisky at #2 because that would tell me Shanahan feels strongly about their talent and future potential but if I had my preference we'd address defense.

I see more people in favor in drafting Leonard Fournette and honestly I don't get it. To me not only is the position simply not as important as it used to be but it's much easier finding quality RBs later in the draft and on top of it Carlos Hyde may have his health concerns but talent isn't the issue. We have so many other needs and Shanahans have history of getting great production out of any RB that it just blows my mind that with so many holes including the worst D in the NFL last year and people want to draft a RB at #2 overall.

Don't get it at all.

If we stay put I'm hoping Solomon Thomas is a 49er.
If we trade down then we can talk but even in a trade down I don't want Fournette.

If they take a QB at #2 i'll understand their reasoning, but if they're going to mold a QB in this class I say they might as well take Kizer at #34. That way if they don't like what they see there's always next years class. IMO Kizer is more or less the same as Watson, Watson had a far better WR corp to work with and offense in general.

I don't get the Fournette one. I think signing juice will help Hyde stay healthy. Out of all the holes in this team RB is at the bottom of the list.

Ravens have traded center Jeremy Zuttah to the San Francisco 49ers and swapped sixth-round picks. Anyone know about this guy? I assume he was gonna be too expensive for the ravens to keep

Don't know anything about the Ravens Cap space but I know that he was a probowl alternate this last season.
