Regarding the pistol brace stuff…

If you already have a Form 1 SBR as well as a braced pistol, would you be just fine taking the brace off and holding out to see the court challenges? The whole "constructive intent" thing wouldn't really apply since the stock and brace would be interchangeable for your SBR. So you'd have a legal use for the brace.

If you’re not comfortable breaking the law and accepting the risks that come with noncompliance, comply.

Nice! Congrats man. They seem to have been moving comparatively fast lately. I'm hoping they get to my 5/10 rimfire suppressor before they get bogged down again.

Seems like my question is "would this be considered complying with the law." Regardless….

I have no problems doing what I want regardless of laws. Everyone can choose what risks they want to take based on the reward/repercussions. But if court cases are expected and the whole thing could get tossed between now and the next time I would even use the braced pistol anyway, there seems to be 0 reward. So a risk, no matter how minimal outweighs the reward.

Right now, as it is, perfectly legal to own, I don't really use the gun. I have a lot of other guns I just prefer. If taking the brace off and having it collect dust is legal, how is it better or smarter to take a risk (however minimal) of a 10 year federal felony to simply have the braced gun (that I rarely ever currently use) collecting the same dust?

Got my replacement RMA'd Holosun 507c ACSS Vulcan from Primary Arms. This one seems better and will be keeping it. G19 is all set now…..just need to send the slide out to get milled (Battle Werx) and have them mount my tritium iron sites and this build is complete. (Notable mention Steamlight TLR-8AG for torch….it's like it was made specifically for this pistol)

Nice. Been wanting to send either a G19 or CZP09 out to get milled, but don't know what I want to put on it. I'm thinking either an RMR or Holosun.

There will be a lot of RMR blow-hards but it just can't compete with the added tech and features of this holo. Decent prices too

Honestly the biggest turn off for me for the RMR is just the battery location. I have a couple Holosun sights. I like them. I am not super fond of optics that adjust brightness on their own based on lighting and at least 1 of my Holo does it (not sure if the other does or not).

yea thats a prob (RMR battery replacement) that I don't want to deal with and its so easy for them to remedy….but they don't.

This one also has auto brightness and set-it brightness setting. Also the solar bits to help save battery, as well as shake awake that works fantastic (all these help battery life) the ACSS vulcan retical (which can be turned off if you want) with the chevron which is much more precise for longer shots than a dot.

The funny thing is, as I was reading this I was thinking to myself "yeah it's illegal, but surely that's a more easily correctable behavioral trait than a woman who is anti-gun, and lots of women are anti-gun". I'm going to go against the grain and say maybe she is a diamond in the rough.*

Hard to say for certain since nobody here is a expert or an attorney willing to give legal advice.

My guess is, it sounds like trouble. Remember that they have some language in their "ruling" indicating they don't even like bare buffer tubes because it has a flat end that can be shouldered. From all the stories I hear, it seems like the AFT just does what they want. If they feel like taking your guns they will and good luck getting anything back. I hope that bureau gets cancelled so hard. They are the worst of all LEOs and it seems like they answer to no one.

That's a good question for a lawyer.

On the one hand, I am not aware of any limitation like "only one upper per registered lower" RE: SBR's

On the other hand, the ATF has released stuff specifically listing what the options are for a person in possession of a braced pistol that they will consider and SBR going forward, and none of those given options include the "already have a different lower registered as an SBR" scenario. And, this is the ATF we're talking about soooo

You can probably set the Holos to auto adust or not at your choice.

The RMR design is retarded and Trijicon is a dinosaur ass company getting left in the dust NGL having a fraction of the competitor's battery life, in a smaller window, with fewer reticle options, that you have to (really should, even flannel daddy says) re-zero the optic when changing the battery and competitor no have to…Trij is years behind the market

Full disclosure my current EDC has an RMR cowitnessed to irons and I intend to, when I replace the battery, simply verify the dot is still witnessed to the irons and carry it like that and just be sure to check zero next time to the range. But that's not ideal

Thanks. Was hoping for your input, because I remember you previously talking about a couple different ones - RMR and Holo specifically.

I ordered a TLR-8AG today from primary arms. Looking forward to putting it on my FNX. Thanks again for posting that video on it, that won me over.
