Correct, this is an individual rather than one of the online stores but same difference except usually better prices since it's one off stock. He's one of the bigger and more known ones in the Northeast. Also know two others in the tri-state area.
Wait is it $3k of $4k? In the other quote it says $4k. Either way, I think you heavily overpaid for a redial without serial numbers or papers. And a vintage without serial numbers usually means it's stolen.

I'll post some of my DateJusts soon. I paid about $2k each, all in fully original and pristine condition, while two of them are very rare, one is even with papers. If you don't know watches, you're better off to come to the crew for considerate advise rather than try to get your ego stroked.

If it says it's a Patek but it's not, it infringes on their IP rights.

Don't really know how to verify, just assuming its a fake because its a rare watch from what i understand.
The watch is absolutely beautiful even if it's a fake. Just not my style.

I'd take it in somewhere to have it checked out before making any decisions. If it's fake, I wouldn't sell it if I were you (you don't get off the hook just by telling the buyer it's a fake).

Yes, it's illegal for you to sell, or even possess the watch. Whether or not anything will actually happen to you is a completely different story.

If it's real you sell it and CEO $10K/day. If it's fake, throw it out (I'd say give it to the cops but they probably won't bother with it).

Ok so if its fake and illegal to even possess as someone above posted, how am i going to get it verified without the jeweler that i take it to for verification calling the cops on me? This is not the predicament i want to be in. This sucks.

Pretty sure no one is going to charge you with any crime while you're in the process of verifying authenticity. No jeweler is going to call the cops on someone who says they found a watch and want it checked out. If you tried selling it to the jeweler and claiming it was real, he/she may not be as kind.

I wonder if I should just write to Patek Phillipe and explain to them how i acquired it and send it to them. Maybe they will be considerate and give me a Patek hat or keychain or something? On the other hand they might sue me. haha!

no one is going to arrest you bro, i see people hawking fake rolex's and breitlings on craigslist and offer up all the time, hell i went to a flea market last year and saw tons of fake watches for sale. its a civil crime meaning the official oem would have to sue you or the manufacturer of the fake, police have bigger fish to fry. go to the jeweler and have them check it out. go to a real jewler tho that knows his **** and tell him how you came to be the owner of it. easy as that.

You know, I'm sitting here looking at these Richard Mille pieces and I'm thinking to myself "why the f*ck would anybody spend $500,000 on one of these?"

I'm trying really hard to like a few of his collection pieces, but I just can't bring myself to admire them. Oh well.

If however the jeweler says it is fake and then tries to buy it off you, don't sell to him. One "easy" way to know if it is a fake or not is verify if all the functions actually work.

The easiest way is to take it to an actual Patek dealer, you'll know it's real or not in the 3 seconds after you hand it over just by waiting for the hammer to come out from under the counter…

I am actually after another good quality watch for decent price. I have a Orient Bambino (black face) for classy and a Seiko Sea Urchin (sub). I actually love the sub and still get a kick out of wearing it. My fav would be a rolex submariner.

I am wondering what the next purchase should be for building a collection. I keep wanting subs and wanted the Steinhart Ocean in black but it is too identical to my seiko.

TLDR: looking to build a nice collection. Have a Seiko sub what are the next ones.

Some looks that i love: Rolex Yachtmaster (the blue bezel, 2 tone) and Explorer 2 (all white)
Orient and Seiko are respectable watches in the watch community, they give you alot for the price you pay. Hence I already owned one seiko, and am now the proud owner of 2 orient watches (bambino/mako). As you already have a diver and dress watch, why not look into a pilot watch. I'm looking for a cool pilot watch aswell since I have the watch combination as you atm.

i think the watch is cool. as for it being stolen, i hope it isnt, and i would question the morality of the guy who bought it without verifying that it was not stolen, which you indicated that you wouldnt care if it was stolen. I bet you would care if it was your stolen watch being sold to someone else. you did how ever say that you knew the guy and i assume that he is a reputable seller. the shot was more at you than it was the watch dude.

edit: and generlly grey market watches has the external serial numbers removed so that they cant be traced back to the AD who sold them to the gray market seller.

Lmao strong rage. Calm your tits bruh. Grey market watches generally don't have serial numbers. Hmm… where did I get the idea… let's see… - it's actually quite ironic given what you said. Are you even aware bruh?
