I got a feeling Snyder is butt hurt over Shanny and will not trade him a franchise QB. I'd be stoked if he did though.

Honestly I'd hold firm on Cousins unless Washington lets him go for a low pick. At first I liked the idea of first round swap and Cousins but now IMO we'd be letting Washington off the hook.

Hold firm and see what happens next offseason. The draft next year has some legit QB prospects. Cousins and Garoppolo potentially hitting free agency. Who knows how a rookie we draft this year looks.

I don't mind dealing with another sucky year if it means we're in position to improve our team to playoff/SB caliber for the next 10+ years.

If we trade down a lot of people come to play. Heck just about everyone not named above lol. Honestly I can't think of anyone I don't want.
I like to add that i would put Mitch Trubisky as my forth option. If Shanny thinks he's the guy then im all for it.

Hard to say how we'll do this year…I think anyone expecting a playoff push is crazy though.

Honestly I'd be just fine with us winning 4 games max. I think as long as we show improvement even though maybe not so much on the win/loss column long term that may be a good thing.

Next year's draft should have some elite QB talent and if we don't draft QB in the first round this year and end up with a top 5 pick it can definitely be a blessing in disguise.

Sam Darnold, Josh Allen and Josh Rosen may all be declaring for the draft next year and if they don't have off years all 3 will be in conversation for #1 overall with Darnold having the inside track. I think if any of the 3 were in this draft they'd be #1 overall picks.

Looking at the schedule, knowing what we know now and how teams looked last year and how they may look next year at this point I'm thinking the wins come with the bold..obviously things will change as guys get hurt, guys come out of nowhere to play well..etc

vs CAR
@ SEA
vs LAR
@ AZ
@ IND
@ WAS
vs DAL
@ PHI
vs AZ
vs NYG
bye
vs SEA
@ CHI
@ HOU
vs TEN
vs JAX
@ LAR

I think the @ Chicago and @ LA are the other two games we may be favored in but at the same time after getting beat up by Seattle and going on the road for an early game on the East coast it may not be an easy game when it comes down to it. It looked like an easy game last year and we lost.

Rams are a toss up but on the road it's hard to pick them as favorites. And honestly while the Tennessee and Jax games seem favorable since we're at home and they're not great..wouldn't shock me if both of those teams put it together and kicked our ass. Tennessee is very close and Jax has the talent but it depends on how Bortles plays.

Our schedule looks really easy this year. I'd say it could be an 8-8 year with our offensive minded coach. Guess we'll have to see what happens in preseason and how any injuries play out.

This is so random but the Niners released Glen Coffee because he's trying to make a comeback. It's been 7 years since he last played and was an army Ranger for 4 of them.

Yeah that was bizarre lol. 49ers have got to get out of habit of drafting dudes who are retiring way too early. Hopefully new regime will make some awesome moves.

I'm excited and nervous for the draft Thursday. Gonna be bummed out if we don't draft Solomon Thomas but I'm starting to get the vibe that we won't. I think Cleveland ends up moving up to #2 to take Garrett 1 and Trubisky at 2.

Thomas will be long gone by 12

When he retired he said he wanted to be a preacher.

Maybe they released him so he can sign with anyone he wants? He clearly didn't like being in SF to begin with so maybe they are doing him a favor.

So assuming we aren't taking a QB at 2, if we were to trade back into the 1st and took any of the QB's, who do you guys want?

Would be legit stoked for our team if we took Thomas at 2 and traded back in and got Watson.

Edit: Actually I wouldn't lol. Just realized that'd cost us a 2018 1st rounder which would mean we'd have no chance at Darnold or Rosen.

Strong first post… What happened to you?

Excited for today! Overall in the draft do you guys think we will load of more on defense or offense? I am thinking are earlier picks will be defense.

Also just read that Bowman was back at full speed at practice yesterday.

iamgenus I am sorry to say but Ellington did not practice to a minor injury to his hamstring he hurt a few years ago…

Why would you draft a QB in the first round 2 years in a row anyway?

Never herp before you derp. I didn't say that.

Also if I were a GM I wouldn't be afraid to do that. If I were the Rams and had a 1st rounder this year I'd draft a QB again and let him battle it out with Goff.

Well you did say that. Because you'd be stoked to trade back into the first round for Watson. Except you wouldn't have that pick to draft Darnold next year.

Was also reading a bit and I think I saw that Aaron Lynch is still hovering around 270? I think it is safe to say that this will be his make or break it year. The same thing can be said with Tank. I am really hoping our front 7 gets improved. Need to stop the run and have a pass rush.

I am curious who they will be moving around the corner and safety positions. Eric Reid is on a contract year and I am not sure how he will play. He started strong as a rookie and fizzled out. I See Ward playing a bit up there and I do hope to see Tartt get a chance. Not sure how the corner role will go. We have like a million people in the position right now.

I think the LB position will be better with Bowman and Smith.

I'd take Mahomes in a trade back in depending on what we give up. Nathan Peterman would be a bit of a reach if we stayed put but I'd be ok with it.

Our secondary will need to be addressed. Losing Brock hurt more then I think we liked to admit. Ward is an unknown at FS and Reid is concussion prone. I really hope Tartt can unseat Reid and if we do go Hooker or Adams I'd consider leaving Ward at corner for now.

I'm not sold on Malcolm Smith at LB. Maybe going back to the system that made him good will help but I don't think he is the long term solution.

My edit was saying that I forgot about the strong QB class next year so I'd rather just take a shot on a 2nd round guy. That's what I meant.

But ya I'm not opposed to back to back 1st round QB's if the first guy looks like Jared Goff or EJ Manual. Especially if it's a legit stud like Luck or Darnold.

Yeah, never bought into that Trubisky at 1 chit.

As long as we get Thomas or trade down I'm happy as a pig in chit.
