IMO it's fine. Perfect? Nah. It reminds me of when I played some of the fallout games for the first time. Everything looking aight, and the gameplay is solid.

Co worker has a 2070, but he's only at 1080p. He can play on high/ultra, but with RT on he dips into the 30's. It's fine with RT off for him he says.

Edit: He is at 1440P, not 1080.

BTW: If you aren't locking your frame rates just lmfao at you. Lock your frames and you'll get a wayyy smoother experience. I was getting 60-70. Just locked it at 60 and it never dips. Smooth AF locked 60 no matter what.
If you're getting 40-50, etc, lock at 40.

Edit: Use Riva Tuner to lock frames. (You can d/l it with MSI Afterburner.)

PLAYING WITH RTX ON IN THIS GAME IS 100% WORTH IT, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO PLAY IT AT 30FPS. 100% SERIOUS.

If you have an RTX card, you're 100% fking up not playing with RT on. It's fking amazing, and absolutely no screen shot will display how good it is like when you're actually playing with it on.

It's not a game that requires 60FPS. Not quite as smooth at 30, but definitely playable for an RPG.

Just woke up and played a bit, Im oficially in the open world area I suppose, finished the prologue. Felt a bit loss as what to do, what side quests to do without just going straight to the main mission. true be had I do feel a bit sick and havent had breakfast so thats affecting my perspective of the game. Even all the neon lights annoyed me right now.


Also did a mess with my points and perks, just randomly spent it without really putting any thought into it, level 8. anyone got a guide to follow for the perk system?

Turn off Chromatic Aberration, Film Grain and Motion Blur and turn down Cascaded Shadows Resolution. Seems to be the recommended route.

yeah right side is with it turned off. Guess these are artistic filter type things, creating a ambiance or w/e instead of just going for clearest visuals possible.

is that the max framerate on option?


so if I turn on max framerate and set it at 45 or 60 it locks the game to that framerate outright or its more a thing where you get variable framerates?

I havnt played around with riviatuner yet because I dont understand the base settings for framerate setting in the options

Also this haha, first things I've turned off.



Chromatic aberration, film grain make every game look horrible. I hated it in mass effect/tlou.


My eyes cant pick up motion blur, but I turn it off regardless as a rule.

Max in options will set a cap. But if you can't hit that cap you're going to jump around. Riva Tuner can set it to anything you want. So if say 55 is your low anywhere in the city, you can set your cap to 55 and you'll just stay locked at a solid 55 anywhere/anytime.

I'll mess with this tomorow. I'll set rivia tuner to 45 and just turn off max framerate in game. I'm happy with 45 fps … So if I can lock it and maaaaybe add in rtx at medium again, I'll be more than happy.




It is a bit annoying that the game doesnt seem to have a benchmark setting or a slider that lets you see how much your gfx options are affecting your gpu though … I'm sure it'll get patched in eventually (hopefully) but for a noobcel, stuff like that always seemed like a indicator. Even on a 2060 super which as 8gb vram, I've noticed if I go above 6gb vram, it definitely affects performance and stability in a big way. 5k/8gb vram seems to be the sweet spot.

I think if this game does up delivering some powerful moments, it will all be music driven.

I hope the music has the ability to carry this game to moments of nirvana and spectacle.

That is it’s final device it has to be latching onto to deliver greatness. Like they need to bombard us with crazy visuals and insanity synced to the perfect music. There needs to be a series of exotic feeling music video esque action sequences like an action movie on steroids.

Gonna play it some more the technical achievement of the piece is enough for now, hoping for the best.

The being better than or as good as Witcher 3 ship has sailed but it can still be “freakin awesome”

Buy a high end pc or wait for next gen upgrades.




I legit cannot reccomend people to play this on PS4 or even PS5 at its current setting. I mean if you dont care about graphics or you just wanna test the game out go for it…. But as an experience, nope. PC is the only way to play this game right now.

I cant believe I'm agreeing with your retarded trolling ass, but kinda agreed. I dont quite get the "magical" feel of playing Witcher 3 for the first time with this game. But I'm relatively pleased with what I've been given so far and hoping the game really ramps up because the "set up" for the game is kindaaaa meh.

I didn't get that feel with TW3 until I was a solid 10+ hours in, so I'm not worried in the slightest. Several early reviewers said that their are in fact a lot of very incredible moments like that in the game.

Yeah I kinda agreed with your assessment of how short the intro variety was. In a game like this stuff like that (Divinity-isms) matter since that Deus Ex complex RPG angle they are going for is what is on offer here.

Hoping for the best as well and keeping an open mind though.

Jackie is amazing. I went corpo and the early moments with him set stuff up nicely.

I have a 35 monitor and a 1080 TI. Running at 1080P ultrawide on high settings and it looks pretty good. I really cannot tell the difference between high and ultra visually. Ultra is not really playable at 1080p and 1440p is not really playable at high.

Of course no RT. Still waiting for 3080's to get in stock.

i think hes cool but his dialogue is so wacky. Mi madre! yea let's go!. Pendihos! come on let's go get the [insert spanish word]! they always over do it with spanish speaking characters in fiction.

I definitely feel like I HAVE to play mouse and keyboard because the shooting is weird when the enemies are hiding and auto aim doesn’t quite work as seamless as it does in GTA it doesn’t pop to them as hard.

I believe it.

The music pedigree is definitely there too, they literally picked out the coolest "indie rock" artists that were popular 8-10 years ago. They might be out dated but back then, those were the cream of the crop. Anyone who puts Grimes in their game is a legit indie music fan.

Only problem is that genre died around that time.

The industrial techno is solid even by modern standards.

So someone is a huge music fan at CDPR and I can see the music seems to be their main device in this game.
