Hopefully we can get Darnold next year.

Really liking Kamara if he's available for the niners if he somehow falls to us. I'd be surprised if he falls to the third round though.

Nate Peterman and Kizer would be good picks in the 3rd round. I want nothing to do with Davis Webb. I'd maybe take a flyer on Dobbs or Evans in the 5th+ to develop and see what they can do.

But yeah, I'm thinking next offseason is really where we address the position whether the draft or free agency. The way it's looking Cousins, Garoppolo and maybe AJ Mcarron will be free agents.

I think Cleveland is going all in on him with all their draft capital. Hopefully they improve enough to actually not be awful but with no QB it's hard to see it even if their defense becomes beastly.

Doubt teams are zoning in on next years draft already. Prospects change drastically all the time. There's a chance he has a Hackenberg season next year although I doubt it.

I like Rosen and Browning too.

I'll be keeping a close eye on Josh Allen. Strong chance he's up there at #1 overall talks. Mason Rudolph will definitely be in next year's class and could be a very solid player.

Thank the Browns. Everyone wants to suck their dick because they ended up with 3 1st rounders and so much draft capital next year(will admit i'm jealous of that)

But really they fuked themselves by letting it leak how much they liked Trubisky. Myles Garrett at 1 was a no brainer but them telling everyone they were so conflicted meant everyone knew they would try to move up for Trubisky.

That told Chicago(who likely fielded calls from Cleveland in attempts to move up) that they could be calling SF as well(and they probably were) obviously Chicago liked Trubisky enough that they had to take him.

Honestly if he turns into a legit QB which he has the ability to do then it's a great move for both teams. If you think someone is a franchise QB you go and get him. Last thing you want to see is one of those guys go a pick ahead of you.

I don't believe Browns really liked Trubisky. If they did they would've taken him at 1. Nobody thinks a QB is a great prospect with the 1 and 12 picks and takes the chance that they'll fall to 12.

There were a bunch of rumors about who likes who and like every year the draft proved it was mostly bs.

Agreed. Bowman would be a great mentor…hopefully Foster sees it the same way.

For you guys not familiar with Thomas…this is a great vid. Shows the type of person he is and why I felt he was a great fit for what the new regime wanted in a player.

I disagree. I think the reports coming in were definitely leaks from the Browns and not smokescreens(why if you're picking at 1?)

Trubisky was thought of as the #1 QB by most people, had the local boy from Cleveland going for him and a franchise with a bad need at the position. There's no doubt in my mind Cleveland wanted him but I think in the end they just couldn't pass up a talent like Garrett where EVERYONE thought he was the best guy in the draft by a large margin. The QB value only gets you so far…as much as they may like Trubisky it's obvious the questions with him are much greater than Garrett.

They were probably hoping someone would give them the world for their pick.

Nick Wright said something that I thought was brilliant. He said if you did every draft over, knowing what the players are now, you'd either take the QB 1, 2, or 3 or they wouldn't be a first rounder. So if you're a team like the Browns and you have those multiple picks or you do what the 49ers did last night, why would you take the QB with your second first rounder? I know the Browns are thought of as a joke of an organization but they brought in some analytics people who I think would see it that way as well.

I don't think you need to announce that you're torn with quite the amount that was being reported if you're just looking to see the best deal you can get.

And of course that's what would happen in re-drafts but it doesn't work like that so teams still have to evaluate whether the importance of a QB is worth going with a lesser graded player with more question marks if he can reach that elite starter level over a sure thing at another position.

Mahones needs a ton of work because his playstyle leads to interceptions at the NFL level, it'll be interesting to see if he lives up to potential since he seems to be a high risk high reward quarterback. Alex Smith starting in the NFL 2 years from now will depend on his health more than anything else. We know how Alex Smith plays and nothing next year should come as a surprise. For all we know he could be the 49ers QB soon kek.

Mahomes went to the best place for him.

He gets to sit behind Alex and learn how to not turn the ball over and how to do the mental part of the game, all while being coached up by Andy Reid.

He then likely gets the keys to the team either heading into next season or the year after.

I'll confidently say that if the Browns really thought Mitch was a franchise QB they would've taken him at 1.

Don't know anything about Witherspoon, from talks around he's softer than baby chit. Hope they can coach him up, looks to have all the physical tools. Liking the 2nd we got from the Saints, would of been nice to grab Kamara ourselves though.

So we traded with the saints got a second. So that gives us

1sr, two seconds and two thirds. Looking good for next year too

Looks like we are going heavy defense this year and then my guess is all out offense next. We still have FA adding to that for next two. I am impressed with how his is going so far.

Love the Witherspoon pick. I thought he was the best corner prospect on the board. Super raw but played well in coverage. Excited to see him get coached up.

Bit lukeworm on the trade down, would've liked to get more this year cuz saints with Brees will always be in playoff hunt but i do think they're looking for ammo to move up next year.

I'm not going to question Kyle Shanahan on QB evaluations but to me taking Beathard there especially with Peterman still available was bad. Hopefully he proves me wrong. Still psyched about the first 3 picks and what we're building.

I like the CJ pick. I can see him being a Matt Schaub caliber QB, which is good enough to win you some playoff games.

Everything was going great until we picked cj instead of peterman. I still wish we got dalvin cook. RB isn't a need but his vision is ridiculous i think he's the best back in the draft and could carry a rookie qb. Still also need a #1 WR to help the new qb. Witherspoon and foster were both A+ picks. Solomon thomas is a good player and the bpa so it made sense i just don't like drafting dl 3 years in a row with the worst passing offense in the league. The defense is getting beefed up which is nice tho so that will help transition a new qb into the rebuild. I'm impressed by John Lynch so far.

I don't see the 'disappointment' of cj over peterman pick. I' m sure noone here actually focused on iowa games to really critique at this point. Rather put my trust in shanny who deals with qbs for a living.

We grabbed some offensive pieces during the FA. We are still rebuilding and it looks like next year they probably will go out for offense during the draft. Currently sitting
1,2,2,3,3 next year.
