It appears Aaron lynch is 20 pounds overwheight. And now there are rumors that he may get cut. At this point if he can't come in shape or take this serious then get rid of him.

We also just booted one of our draft picks. It am not sure why. He either wasn't what they expected or maybe something else. Or they have someone they like from there tryouts this last week.

Wasn't one of our picks. Cannon got cut(ironically after I just talked about being excited about us signing him in the post before yours) he was an UDFA though, an expensive one but still undrafted.

I hear reports he violated a team rule which would make sense. It must have been something related to that to cut a guy getting a guaranteed 45k before pads even come on.

Hopefully it teaches the other guys a lesson. Sucks though because talent wise he had a shot.

As for Lynch, I wouldn't buy that story quite yet because it originated with Grant Cohn. Lynch looked pretty good in some drills from the voluntary camps and didn't look that big. Some guys may come in from a bulk and drop some weight in camps.

Cohn as always is just speculating with nothing of substance to go on.

MY mistake….. I didn't read the whole article. I just passing along what I see.

The whole Lynch thing was just interesting. He was overweight last year too if I remember. His was was preggo and he gained a bunch of weight from that. Hopefully he can drop back down in weight.

Yeah…stupid. Sucks for us because he had the talent to make the team but I agree with the example that had to be made.

Hopefully the other guys I mentioned will make the team. Matt Breida intrigues the fuk out of me.

That response doesn't sound promising but what's his scouting report? He'll have to impress to make the team because there are already guys on the roster 5 or 6 deep the coaches are high on. Seahawks were so depleted at one point plenty of young guys got to show their stuff.

Real talk, what are the chances Foster is not actively playing within 3 years from suspension or discipline?

I love the guy and I like a little crazy on that side of the ball. But he seems like a guy that will constantly be on the brink of falling off the rails.

Probably the biggest concern of the injury is more time to get in trouble as you're not as involved in the team and activities.

Completely agree there is risk there of a Rolondo McClain sort of guy….I'd say 15-20%?

Concern is definitely there. I hope his love of the game keeps his stupidity off the field in check.

Fuk up off the field = can't play the sport you love.

Hopefully also Solomon Thomas rubs off on him as does Bowman who is a good example of someone who left behind off the field issues to be a perfect teammate post draft.

Good point about Bowman specifically. Bowman could be a great mentor for him. Strong leaders in the locker room are so valuable for young guys. It ends up becoming cyclical until you have a culture.

Looks like Kaep to Seattle is gaining serious momentum. All more reason for Niners fans to hate him even more.

Hopefully he never sees the field in the regular season beyond garbage time. It does make sense though. His skill set would mesh with how the offense would like to run if Wilson gets hurt again. Boykin can't be trusted anymore and he's lucky he hasn't been cut already.

Michael Bennett was on John Clayton's show and supports the idea of bringing him on.

Strange twist of fate that he could end up on the same team that mindfuked Kaep's confidence in some ways. Imagine 5 years ago ever thinking this would happen. lol

Pretty much this….. All the hate spewed between both teams over the years and now he may have a chance to play for them.

This thread is so dead these days

Damn offseason…

You guys see the story about Solomon Thomas asking for #94 since he wants to emulate Ware? Love the fact that he's working out with him instead of just twiddling his thumbs. Hate the fact that he can't be there with the team in OTAs due to the stupid rules but not worried about him when he's putting in work like that.

If he can be a Justin Smith or Demarcus Ware…he'll have a great career.

yup, the doldrums of the NFL offseason. its nice that most of the guys in my office are football fans. Most of them are Cardinal fans, but there are 2 49ers fans in here. The draft was fun, but now its just waiting for any tidbit from OTA, then more waiting for Training Camp.

Welcome to the club! We are pretty laid back in here and welcome fans from all teams to talk about football. The only thing we don't really like it trolling… Foster looks great and I can't wait to see him in action.

the DE/LEO group looks pretty crowded right now. probably means that Tank, Harold, Blair, Lynch? are likely to get cut. Part of me understands that these guys have all been given plenty of time to show something and they haven't or aren't consistent enough. It'll really be frustrating if they go to another squad and start lightning it up.

Don't know if all of those guys are the same position fit but no question this camp will be the best in a long time in terms of competition.

I'm not sure if there is a single position outside of LT which isn't up for grabs as far as starter and every position is up for grabs in terms of depth.

I do think the following guys will either easily win the starting job or take it pretty easily.

LT - Joe Staley
QB - Brian Hoyer
MLB - Navarro Bowman
CB #1 - Rashard Robinson
DT/DE - Deforest Buckner
WR #1 - Pierre Garcon

I could be having a brain fart but I think the other positions will have pretty strong competition. I do think Hyde ends up winning the starting job but those other guys imo have a clear leg up on the competition. Hyde has a lot of guys on his ass and going into a contract year he needs to really show a LOT to not get traded or be seen as a one year rental.

I'm not sold that Dumervil sticks on the roster but bringing him in makes a ton of sense. It adds competition and brings in a solid veteran guy who can help the young guys even if he doesn't make the squad. Though Elvis just 3 years ago had 17 sacks so if he's healthy he can still produce.

Can't wait til camp so we can get nearly daily updates on these guys. I just hope nobody gets seriously hurt. I want to see the best guys win jobs based on their play, not who gets hurt.

I think overall every position has a ton of competition. Some better than others. I think we will see a lot of familiar people lose their jobs and maybe even be cut this year. The only one that I wish had more was safety. Ward, Tartt and Reid. I like Tartt and Ward and hope they do good. Reid needs to prove himself this year. I like to think our defense does well this year. Not sure about the offense but I think the oline will look better that the last few years.

Hopefully we can work some trades instead of cutting guys outright but those are always hard. I think we have some talent at DL that could bring in low rounders in trades since guys don't cost a lot and have potential.

I'm back and forth on Cousins.

On one hand while he may not be Tom Brady he's proven to be a successful QB in this league and would be a more or less proven thing with experience in Kyle's offense. On the other hand he'd cost a chit ton of money and would be 30 heading into next season I believe and isn't a Tom Brady…

Plus last I saw people were saying he's 80% to re-sign. Certainly not a guarantee but seems more likely now that he'll re-sign with them.

Plus last I saw people were saying he's 80% to re-sign. Certainly not a guarantee but seems more likely now that he'll re-sign with them.
For some reason I thought he was younger than that… I would rather work with what we have and look towards the draft. There is no way I would want to waste that much money right now.
Free Agent…

This poor thread

Hate this time of year…

But I can't tell you how excited I am for the start of training camp this season. Hyped as fuk to see the competitions this camp and of course it will be the first time we'll see(hopefully) Solomon Thomas and Reuben Foster out there together.

Hopefully Foster's shoulder is good to go with no restrictions and he stays healthy.

Same for Solomon. If he stays healthy his whole career I honestly think he'll be a dominant player for us for a long time. I simply don't see a way outside of injury that this kid will fail. He's too talented, too hard working and too down to earth to fail.

While it doesn't automatically make him a HOF player by doing this…he's definitely going the extra mile trying to prepare himself for a successful NFL career by training with Ware, Sapp and attending Von Miller's pass rush camp.

Hopefully his drive, work ethic and non thug nature rubs off on the rest of the team, especially Reuben Foster and they end up being a better version of Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks with more SB rings
