I made the switch from my 5D II to the Sony A7R III and so far I'm loving it. Obviously the new platform takes some getting used to, but first impressions are that the autofocus is amazing (especially eye-AF, and the subject tracking while shooting video), it's much faster, the in-camera stabilization is very helpful, and the EVF isn't too much of a change at all. Here's just a snap of my pups on Christmas with the Sigma 85 ART @ 1.4. I can't wait to take a trip to a big city and really get some good shots.

Hey brahs! Sorry for the lack of posting and logging in. I have been super busy with work.
Anyways…
Sold my 35mm sigma ART and bought a Canon 100 2.8L macro and now looking for a tripod head. I checked out the 410 manfrotto head and really liked it. It was super heavy for a tripod head and was around 250 dollars. It was a geared head too.
Any recommendations for geared heads for around 250 dollars?

so I have a sigma 35mm 1.4 ART and a 18-35 1.8 ART…. kinda long story. anyways both are in excelent condition and work well. I havent used the 18-35mm that much yet but im thinking of selling the 35mm 1.4 since i dont REALLY need the wider aperature badly nor do i think the difference in sharpness or whatever is that big.
what do yall think?
might test the 18-35 more but ive loved using the 35mm 1.4. so far i think autofocus is better on the 1.4 but it might just be small sample size or just in my head and if there was a difference its miniscule.
im thinking of buying the 17-50mm 2.8 sigma (IS/OS)
mainly cus i need a run and gun setup for video work. both of my current art lenses are great but for video it gets shaky af especially since i use the 80d (no in body stabilization)
photoshop if i wanna remove stuff, add stuff, or special effects. but lightroom for 99% of the things that i do.

Been getting out in the woods more this winter, really letting me work on product photography, as well as my silly doggos. Need to actually use my DSLR instead of my phone, but one is much easier to haul around, need to look into a bluetooth attachment for the D700 so that I can more readily use my Nikon for my side business, just uploading to a computer to send to my phone is such a pain, can't make Instagram posts via computer.
Anyways this is my favorite from the last two weekends.
Designed a new logo in the bottom left as well, play off of my current logo just applied in a more modern way I guess.
www.etsy.com/shop/berensaxehouse
www.instagram.com/berensaxehouse
Have a small lightbox for head photography before the handle is added, used to have an all-brick background that I liked, the colors played with with the axe and I thought the Urban feel of the bricks with the rural feel of an axe played well. But switched it up and created an all-black background by torching some 100 year old floorboards and coating them with pine-tar and tung-oil after a wire brush and another flame coat. Also a good look IMO.
I think I would benefit the most, by using my actual camera next and get some bokeh in there.
Thoughts?

Hello guys…
I am in the market for a tripod without the center column. I saw a Benro tripod that was carbon fiber and had no center column that I was attracted to. The price however at the time was not attainable for me. I have two tripods I am selling right now (both manfrotto) and one sold on ebay, so now I have one left. Once I sell the second one, I should have money for a new tripod.
Any suggestions? I really like manfrotto, but they dont make one that I am looking for. Price range is 350 or less…

Oh boy. D850 is on it's way. so is the grip.
Need to get rid of my 24mm sigma, and pick up the Nikon version, and i'll be done for the year, I think.
Side note:
Paul Buff modifiers are SO MUCH HEAVIER AND BULKIER than Wescot stuff. ho-ly-chit

Looks like the D850 was the number one seller for DSLR's over the holidays.
I just bought the d750 5 months ago. Maybe I'll snag a used D850 this holiday season.
Who else on here has the D850?? Thoughts/opinions ?

d850 performed just slightly better than d750 over the weekend. Still need to figure out what is going on with the focus (it refuses to fire hotshoe flash unless the focus is fully acquired), but so far i'm a bit underwhelmed with the high ISO performance.

The 850 is a great camera. On the other hand, Canon has been dragging its feet now for half a decade now and that kind of conservatism won't benefit the company in these highly competitive (Sony, China, etc.) times. Just ask GoPro.
