yeah but even the biblical aspect applies as it is a lie we tell ourselves and want to believe for comfort and to come up with an explanation for the unknown (no nyc lib atheist). The flood, and everything else were all just made up like when people prepare for the end of the world according to the mayan calendar. Its stuff people do for comfort or to explain that which can’t be explained. modern cave paintings to explain contemporary mythology.

and like I said I don’t think nora ever went into the machine. The machine was also a lie and the story she made up was just a story.

We will never know what happened to those people. The same way we can’t know a lot of things about how we got here and what happens when we die. We can only make assumptions based on things in this world. but we're here now and that's all that matters. be ok to live in the moment without having to understand everything, even bad things that can happen in life at any moment.

When I explain the show like this doesn’t it make it a lot better? I can’t do the same for sports tho.

White water rafting it is. we'll turn the Deerfield river into the rio grande

I tend to agree with your points about the things we tell ourselves for comfort, ie the flood, etc

BUT then that explanation just kind of ignores the fact that 10% of the human population just vanished
so it just seems to me like all along, the show played into the other-worldy, biblical aspect of things, but then when it came time to wrap everything up, it fell back on "belief" even though all this crazy chit had really happened in the show

you think the machine was a lie? what about Matt being there with her? I thought she actually did go into it, but then backed out at the last moment

im writing my responses as im reading your comments, and your explaining the show really does help and make me enjoy it more lol
youre like my comfort blanket <3

I think the machine was real but it was a lie that it worked. The dutch women had no idea if it worked. I think they believed it may work but there’s no proof. I think the dutch woman who kept laughing was a believer but a skeptic. And I think nora backed out at the last second and the story she made up was a lie. her job in the show was to dispel fake accounts of vanishings. and in the end she made up a story to justify it. and the story also helped her justify the loss of her children. i think she even believed the story after going over it in her mind so many times and making it so elaborate.

Nobody knows where the people went and that’s just one thing in the show you kinda gotta accept. Just a freak event. Maybe it can happen again or maybe it never will. nora’s explanation was as good as any but I just don’t think it was factual. But there’s no way of knowing- if you think she was telling the truth that’s a possibility too.

Think about all the stories the people told about the guy that vanished in texas. The guy who was on the tower in miracle. The people and “witnesses” all had unique accounts. And it made them feel good. but once it was proved that he fell down that lie was quashed. Relates to nora’s story. And there’s lots of other examples in the show.

Was it a near death experience or did he die and go to the afterlife? And they showed the scenes of him in that state of consciousness so the show wants you to believe it happened.

As far as nora’s story, you aren’t supposed to know whether it was true or not. A lot of things in the show (the guy hugging people and healing them, the town in texas, the guy that speaks with people in the afterlife, hoaxes, lies, etc) are about making people feel better wheter true or not. “youre here now” and that’s all that matters. They fact that they didn’t show nora’s scene in flashbacks or cut scenes makes me think it never happened which is kind of an underlying theme of the whole show.

I agree matt’s episodes were the best. And he has a cool name. and yeah I would have said the lion’s name frazier about 5 minutes into the boat ride so I could get my free blow job lap dance.

Also it was kind of cool to see nora naked at the end. But I’m too scared to look online to find out if it was a cersei lanister body double type of thing.

i was listening to a podcast last week and thought about you. i can't remember what it was but it was a good thought.

hope you aren't getting into any more fights in church parking lots, but if you are getting into fights i hope you are winning at least 50% of them.

when is someone "too old" to go river tubing? i don't think men can ever be too old to be in a hot tub together tho.

I thought it was a cheap out and pretty corny. "oh yeah I passed thru, and it was just an alternate universe where all of us disappeared" Especially the part about her finding the guy who made the machine, having him make it again, and coming back thru again was cringe to me
I guess I see your point about not knowing if it's true or not, and actually if she did make it up it makes me feel better about it

Can confirm his name is pretty sickening. LMAO Frazier

When it showed the nudity disclaimer before the show I got pumped and said to the wife "I hope its Kevin one last time"
she just shook her head. I mean that thud when he did the dickprint scanner? cmon…. (no homo)

Maybe the Cavs are just in for the long con.

Cavs get the finals win down 3-1
Cubs match by being the Indians after going down 3-1
Pats blow past them both with the insane SB comeback

Cavs confirmed to one up once again with the sweep after being down 3-0

I basically don’t watch tv anymore. I mainly listen to podcasts/watch podcasts on youtube (no yt fitness videos tho)

I never miss an episode of rogan even tho sometimes he’s ridiculous. My favorite ones are the fight comapnions he does with Brendan shaub, bryan callen and edgey bravo.

The Jordan Peterson one was probably the best rogan one in a while. I think it was like 4 hrs and I actually listened to it twice. Guy is awesome. iirc correctly (and I always do) at the end of the episode rogan said that was his favorite podcast as well.

I also listen to the fighter and the kid podcast and bill burr podcast- never miss any episode of any of these.

Steve, me and the girls actually went to see bill burr a couple weeks ago when he was filming a live podcast promoting his Netflix show. I sat a couple feet away from that freckle faced ginger bastid. Bill burr actually threw an F is for Family condom at me.

yeah tfatk it is probably the podcast I look forward to the most. callen in a funny dude and altho he's married I think he's at least 15% gay. I respect shaub a lot, guy went from football to mma and now stand-up AND he uses hair product. and he's 33. he's a true renaissance man. def much more accomplished than walas or someone else at that age (not me because I have lots of insurance certificates and high rep power).

did not see the fight last weekend because I was upstate but I did listen to the fight companion a/k/a flat earth debate hour.

k guys I'm checking out work was cray today per usual.
