Foques it sounds like the priority setting for the focus mode you're in (AF-C or AF-S) is set to focus priority and that lag is more noticeable with the flash. See page 260 of the manual.

I set all mine to release priority. You can always shoot a few extra frames to guarantee focus but waiting for the camera to think it's in focus before firing could mean missing the shot altogether. Congrats again on the D850.

That depends on what you're going for, but you need to submit some content first. Otherwise, you're asking for the history of lighting.

Forgot to ask, what do 45mp D850 files look like scaled down to 24mp like the D750? If noise is comparable then that's a win in my book because the D750 can't touch it at low ISO.

Hey chief! Thank you for looking out for me! I did make that change as soon as I got the body. Need to play more with it, it does operate differently form 750.

It is fairly comparable to 750. If you would like, I can shoot you a couple of test raw files to kick around, just let me know

EDIT:

I take it back. When scaled down, images look much better.

That's what I was thinking. If you resize a 24mp file to 45mp along with more noise you wouldn't see as much fine detail as the D850. 9fps with the grip makes it the most versatile camera by a mile.

Definitely going to pick one up in a few months. D800E is still going strong after 6 years but for anything that moves that thing pulls away like a Lambo against a Corolla. Mirin that AF, 7-9fps, and 4K video.

Also a D800E user. Still amazing IQ wise but for anything that moves it shows it's age Af is barely better than my old D700.

That is well done photoshop. Dont get me wrong the raw photos most likely look good but that is a lot of work to get them to that point.. I've done some shots that are like that (not nearly as good yet) and if you look at the file while its in photoshop there are so many layers (I had one that was over 20 layers since I was making adjustments to very specific areas using masks)..

The first one looks like it could be Max Rive…
http://www.maxrivephotography.com/index

Second one has a Elia Locardi look (its not his though)
http://portfolio.elialocardi.com/Gal...-Architecture/

Third one is anyones guess… that isnt really that much work involved… that you could most likely get done in Lightroom..

Most of that the saturation slider. I wish cartoon colours had died with fuji velvia 50.

I used to try and emulate Velvia and Ektachrome with digital because that's what all the top dogs shooting landscapes on 6x17 were using. And digital without any processing looks sterile at smaller print sizes. I was more interested in the way it rendered certain colors like purple and green which went beyond dragging a saturation slider.

My tastes have changed and I prefer a less processed image these days however you still need to print big or display it at 4K for it to have an impact. People have become desensitized to a point where HDR looks normal. And if your goal is to ultimately sell prints or attract people to a website then that could be a problem.

You only have to take a cursory glance at the comments on social media. Someone posts a beautiful landscape image that looks very close to the real thing and it gets a handful of likes and a few "nice photo" replies. Meanwhile the over processed images with "cartoon colors" that distort reality get far more likes and "OMG THAT'S SO INCREDIBLE!!!" comments.

I'm sure it will be excellent but I was disappointed with no res increase and no DR increase. IQ wise there is no real reason to change from my D800E yet.

I found this guy last summer hiding in one of my dahlias.

She approached with her hand extended,. I slowly stepped back. "No" she said. "I just want to shake your hand. You're amazingly gorgeous." As she walked by me she copped a biceps feel.

Can anyone recommend me a good beginner camera for traveling? Primary focus will be video, photos second. Budget around $1,500 max. Max weight around 1.5lbs but willing to go heavier if worth it.

The Sony a6500 looks great but no flip out screen which sucks. Also been looking at the Canon 80D and Panasonic GH4

The Sony a7ii is around 13.6 stops… the A7iii is around 15.. How often do you print big enough that you need more then 24 megapixels?

I like the Panasonic or the Canon 7D Mark II. Just keep in mind that the release of the Mark III is on the horizon around Q4.

What's up misc, was hoping to get some help from yp U guys on purchasing a camera.

I'm just looking for something pretty basic, and good for a beginner. Only gonna use it for stuff like pics of the family and pets so I'm not trying to break the bank. Preferably something 750 and under, if possible even sub 500.
