300 has worse overpen concerns compared to 5.56, particularly if you miss, so watch your shooting lanes if that's your hd choice.

Meanwhile you're paying 60 cpr for trash ammo so you're shooting less. 300 blk is a trap.
Name one gun that can do all I mentioned above better? None. that fps I stated was out of a 10.3 which is perfect. 2200-2400 is ideal for that shell and load and wrecks havoc. Absolutely does not defeat the purpose…that IS one of the purposes.

You can absolutely use supers and subs to do what you need to do. Supers good out to 300. Subs for quiet out to 100 or a bit more. No need for full auto either but if you want it you can do it.

That load I talked about being prime pen’d 12” and started to frag 2” in which is absolutely perfect. it comes down to the pill and the load And the 300blk can literally do it all. If I want 300+ ya I’ll grab a different gun…and it wouldn’t be a 556

Throw a silencer and some subs and you have what amounts to a .45 for home defense/close quarters with much better aero and in an AR performance out to 100+. Switch it up again and get some Barnes tac-tx and go hunt white tails, mule deer etx. Throw a silencer on and go shoot up some bacon that never saw it coming.

556 ya it can stretch out further. Who cares. If I want 300yrds plus I’m using another caliber. put a silencer on it and some subs and you can kill some squirrels….maybe.

At the end of the day it’s all about what you want to use your firearm for and what fits that bill best for your needs. Everyone have their personal preference…doesn’t mean any of the calibers are wrong.
Okay, so, you're building a 16" .300 blk. Throw a silencer and some subs on (better really be sub cause 16" barrel) and now there is a silencer hanging off the front too…how much shooting have you done with a silencer on the front of a 16" barrel?

But yes you are right you can have what amounts to a handgun (.45 ACP) except it costs way more money and is way longer and less maneuverable

Yes you explained you can build a 16"+can for home defense that's basically a .45 handgun but five times longer. yay?

Wuttt. Said nothing about 16”s.

Let’s see that .45 handgun shoot to 100+ yards with ballisticS/aero of a 300 shell and effectiveness of an AR yay?

Then do everything else on the list

If you want to shoot a whopping 100 yards (lol) with the effectiveness of an AR, just use an AR in 556.

An AR in 556 has effectiveness of an AR for home defense as well. You know what does not have the effectiveness of an AR for home defense? A .45 ACP aka 300 blk sub

Link to chrono test that that bullet/FPS in a short barrel?

I'm seeing like 1900 BTW

If we're talking shooting soft targets (deer in this case) out to 200 yards, using the same ammo, the win goes to 300 blk. But it's not a massive difference. The farther you get over 200 yards and the .223/5.56 gets all of the advantages of higher velocity.

Armored targets 5.56 wins at any distance.

Lots of variables here. Don't argue with me because I didn't mention some of them lol
The differences on soft targets are nuanced, not a massive difference between the two.

Ammo choice is everything for 300 blk. There is some nasty light weight high speed solid copper expanding ammo out there. And 5.56 of the same make is really outstanding as well.

Same ammo only 300 blk

So. Many. Variables.
It's hardly worth arguing about.

Nah. Nothing is wrong with that. I trusted my life to a 20” rifle for 10 years. I would love to have any of those rifles today.*

Lmao at you retards still justifying your range toy aka .300 BO. Just admit you fell into the gimmicky marketing and sell it to buy something actually useful. Suck it, nerds.

Fun day in the snow. Course was similar to ones we've run before. Movement of about 150m total with a variety of shooting positions throughout. Ran it for time and score (based on hits). The video here is of the last four positions on the course, engaging a steel target from 60m away with two quick shots. Mags were preloaded with an unknown amount to force sporadic reloads. I ****ed up on the last reload, moving to the last position before reloading. Probably a combination of the extra layers and being tired from running the course. I realized it after I had committed to the move.

https://imgur.com/oJbsGlU

This weekend we'll do the similar course, but essentially in reverse for a break contact drill.

Finally got to shoot my new setup yesterday, -7 temps did not deter me from going to the range. It shoots great, and is quite accurate with tight groupings even with pmc x-tac ammo. Only thing I don't like about it is that it likes to kick spent shells everywhere. I had to stop a couple of times to swat away hot casings away from my arm in a seated and rested position from the bench I was shooting off of. Is there a reason why my LaRue upper doesn't like to kick casings toward the front right of the gun?

Also what's a good quality leather shoulder holster to get? I had a poor experience with Alien gear, and galco seems to be expensive for what they offer. According to YouTube and forum comments.

I'm surprised there is still a debate over 5.56 vs 300 blk

Even if the terminal ballistics were marginally better, picking the round that is twice as expensive with 1/100th the availability seems odd.

Also, I know like 10 people with .300 blk rifles. Do you know how many have actually gotten the stamp and bought a can like they talked about? Zero. lol

BREAKING NEWS: NRA-Backed Constitutional Carry Introduced in Florida

Now what does this mean to the owners of a CCW permit/license?

Constitutional carry is open carry without a permit, but in order to conceal carry going to need a permit?

Is this how it works?

"Constitutional Carry" used appropriately refers to concealed carry without a permit. A number of states have had open carry without a permit for a long time, but it's not referred to as "Constitutional" until it includes concealed carry without a permit.

Currently, 25 states are permitless concealed carry aka Constitutional carry. Even if FL passes it, they'll be in the bottom half

I'm guessing that anyone with a criminal background caught carrying a weapon will go to prison.

So now if/when this bill passes we won't need a permit to conceal carry?

Now what does this mean to the owners of a CCW permit/license?

Constitutional carry is open carry without a permit, but in order to conceal carry going to need a permit?

Is this how it works?
