Not bad. Probably carry another ILB though which would be Wilhite.

Bruce Miller might not make it especially if the other tight ends show up. Unless Chip alters his offense some to use a fullback.

Pretty cool site i just stumbled on trying to find what Driskell got on his Wonderlic

http://www.playerprofiler.com/team/san-francisco-49ers/

Cool to see where each guy stacks up vs other players in the NFL.

A lot of focus on this years draft but I think this year we'll really see how good last years draft was.

Armstead showed promise. "His 12.3 pass-rushing productivity rating was the highest of any 3-4 defensive end who played at least 155 pass-rushing snaps in 2015." -PFF
Tartt at S. might be starting sooner than we thought
Harold Has been working hard this offseason, hopefully it pays off.
Bell will compete for the TE postition
Smelter could be a starter.
Brown our best option at RT

Let's hope. We need the final few drafts to come together.

Carradine & McDonald need to step up
Patton and Lemonier are fighting for roster spots - last chance

the DBs form 2014 - Johnson, Acker, Reaser and Ward(he was looking real good at the end of the season) and the OLmen from that draft in Martin and Thomas and Ellington.

I'm not a Baalke hater but it's time for some of his picks to step up. I think the main thing is they just need playing time.

With how the NFL is today, you need 2-3 solid contributors per draft class.

I think that has been a problem. A lot of out younger guys were misused or hardly stepped on the field. We saw that a lot under Harbaugh, not so much last year. It also doesn't help any of the guys who are red-shirted for a year because of injury.

Yeah that's what stinks…we don't really know wtf we have.

Look at our WR position - total unknown outside of Torrey Smith.

Ellington - I feel like his development was stunted, partly due to poor coaching but also do to his injuries. Hopefully he can stay healthy and this coaching staff finally puts him on the field and puts him to good use
Smelter - total unknown
Rogers - total unknown in the NFL
Patton - hard to say where he's at

OLB is unknowns behind Brooks and Lynch - Tank is making a position change and Harold didn't get too much time last year.

Can't wait til camp starts so we can start getting more info on how these guys look…of course it wouldn't be mini camp/training camp with somebody getting a ton of praise only to do nothing in the regular season

He's shown flashes but hasn't had much opportunity. I never expected him to be a #1 level receiver but if used properly I think he can be a great slot guy.

I'm kind of glad we didn't re-sign Q as great as he's been for us. I think it's best to see wtf we have, or don't have.

Need the two rookie OTs to show up to boot Pears off the roster.

I have no problem having the young guys show what they're worth this year but they have to show something to the coaches in camp in order to do so. If they're totally overwhelmed they'll stick with the vet.

At least he would be backing up Trent Brown, also didn't Brandon Thomas play tackle in college, why not let him try to play RT instead of guard.

I think Thomas is better suited at guard but I'd definitely be in favor of him giving it a go.

Kind of cool, we brought in Parys Haralson as a way to try and make the young players not be so stupid.

Hopefully it works out.

Jeff Driskel turned down the NFLPA Rookie Premiere because it would mean less time in Santa Clara at the ‪#‎49ers‬' headquarters learning the offense.

Good to hear…hopefully he gets his head right and puts it all together since the physical talent is legit.

Cool article

Yeah curious to see how he goes. I don't want to get too excited about a late 6th round QB considering the odds of success for those guys is slim. Everyone wants the next Tom Brady but you look over the starting QBs in the NFL and very few were picked outside the first 32 picks. Even less outside the first 2 rounds.

Driskell just like Kap will only be as good as his head will take him. Physical tools are all there but can he do the right things off the field to get himself into position to succeed on the field.

Can he handle the pressure of being an NFL QB
Can he handle the pressure from the opposing defense
Can he learn the playbook
Can he lead the team
Can he perform in clutch situations
Can he read the defense pre and post snap
…etc

We know he can make pretty much every throw in the book in his shorts. We know he's athletic and we know he has good size.

He was pretty bad in Florida against top competition. He was much better last year in La Tech vs inferior competition. Lots of questions with the kid but at the same time all of the things I said above can also be said for Goff/Wentz and any of the top QB prospects.

The bad thing is looking at his stint in Florida is that he didn't handle things well but sometimes the situation breaks people down. Hopefully for our sake he learned a valuable lesson and will work with Chip Kelly and the coaches to do the right things moving forward.

I liked hearing that he chose to stick around the 49ers and the coaches rather than go to the rookie thing and get an extra $100k. $100k isn't chump change for a 6th round pick and granted I believe he comes from money so it may not be the same thing as a poor kid giving up that cash but it still showed me he's trying to learn as much as he can.

Tom Brady is an extreme scenario that may never happen again considering the guy is arguably the best to ever play the position but if we can get him to even half of what Tom Brady is then it's a steal.

Nothing would be greater than having Driskell take to Chip's scheme and realize all that potential coming out of high school and remove QB from our list of needs next year. I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can do in training camp and preseason.

I don't think any of us are expecting anything big from Driskel. At best I think we're looking at a solid backup QB for years to come.

Good for Hayne, but with all the RBs on the team I doubt he would have made the roster.

Yeah I don't know if Hayne would've made the team but I would've been curious to see how he's improved in camp.

Can't blame the guy. Having a chance to be in the Olympics is pretty huge.

Anybody been checking out the pics from OTAs?

Trent Brown looking swole as fuk…in the midsection. Hopefully he gets himself into shape because everyone was kind of counting on him winning the RT job.

So many unknowns on the team right now. Kind of exciting but kind of scary.

Thread ded

Nothing too exciting from OTAs yet but does look like Jimmie Ward has been impressing coaches, hopefully he keeps growing as a player after a very good season last year. Seems like they're going to try and keep him on the field on D no mater what package is out there.

Also while keeping in mind it's OTAs it's still nice to see Brandon Thomas getting time with #1 OL unit. For anyone not paying attention Garnett isn't at camp due to Stanford's quarters system(similar to Armstead last year)

Eric Rogers has also been getting a lot of positive mentions. Given his size it would be great if he could be our WR version of Jeff Garcia…especially given the need we have for someone to step up at WR.
