Good to see that worked out for you. I got my engineering degree a year ago and have been working as a construction estimator. I train on the side as my own thing and it is so much more fulfilling and satisfying. Would you mind PMing me some advice or tips on how to continue or expand as a trainer?
Also to the people in saying they want to kill themselves, hold off on that. Suicide doesn't end your burden or struggle it just transfers them to the ones you leave behind. They are left wondering what they could have done different to make you stay. I struggle to this day because my old workout partner hung himself. Stay safe brahs and keep grinding. Things will get better. There is nothing wrong with living a normal quiet life. It is unrealistic to expect to be stupid rich with a harem of 10/10 HBBs. Stay modest. PM if you need to talk.

Wanna know what really stings?
When you live in a city where even if you're pulling in $100,000 a year you still have to live pretty meagerly in order to get by because of how expensive property is here. Want a house? Better be able to swing a $1 Million mortgage if not more for a small bungalow that probably needs another $50 - $70,000 in rennos. Want a 2 story house? about $2.5million and up.
You can buy a condo, maybe, still $350,000+, but then you're living in a 450sq/ft space where your kitchen and living room are the same place. You gonna be confortable there? You gonna have your inlaws over for dinner there? You gonna raise a kid there? Want 2 bedrooms? Better have at least $600,000 ready.
"Look for a place out of the city" is the common reply.
Yeah but if you work in the downtown core then you're commuting 2 hrs in traffic each way. I know people who do this and their lives are miserable because of it. They barely have time to enjoy the house they're working to pay for. Plus then a car becomes mandatory. And one of the great things about being in the inner city is you don't need a car. It's like new york, having a car is almost a hassle. But woops now you live 3 hours away so you need one.
Basically here (Toronto) unless you: 1) come from money or 2) have inherited property or a massive amount of money) - you will never own property here.
And if that's not bad enough, detached housing prices are rising by $550 per day.

So even if you get that 6 figure job you're still basically on that poverty time.

No amount of money is worth wasting 4 hours of my life a day, stuck in traffic, miserable. We only get one shot on this rock, enjoy it, dont work yourself into a stroke.

But to adress what you're saying, I understand that whole "don't be a slave" mentality but what does somebody do if they need the money? I guess they could opt to rent instead of owning a home. But long term where does that put you?

You make more moving into management. It is very achievable if you plan three steps ahead where you want to be. I just turned 25, I made $81k last year before taxes. Expecting to be right around $200k by age 30 like the guy you replied to mentioned.
My old manager recently left the company to become director of worldwide sales at another firm, basically told me if I leave here he had a $140k/yr role waiting for me whenever. So connections are important as well.

People got to put that into real world perspective especially when people from the states see these salary ranges.

I know these feels. Spent a few of the better years of my late 20's getting really drunk and doing a LOT of drugs because of it. Cleaned up (relatively) and going to grad school now, almost 30 years old, no shyts given, as I actually have a plan this time around.
-We got a backup plan?
-Yes. Kill everyone in sight.
-I like it. Can we switch and make that the main plan?

What I find interesting is people that say outright: "I'm not intelligent".
I find it almost contradictory. Someone with the self-awareness and introspection to realize they aren't smart must be at least above average.
I think its a sign of low self-esteem,confidence or depression. As opposed to being dumb.
Most stupid people are often arrogant, brash and think they are the brightest.
Its also a quality that many people are fiercely protective over. It's one of the worst things you can say to someone.
I'm very secure and not easily rustled. But if someone I respected said to me: " Look m8; your slow, stupid and struggle to figure out conceptual ideas." I'd be pretty taken aback.
In fact I'd say it was my only true comfort blanket. My self-talk goes along the lines of telling myself: you're on the right track, you screw up a bit and slack too often, but the combination of your genius and ambition will pull you through. You're gonna make it.
Also intelligence=/= achievement. its only a singular attribute.

Life is what you make of it, you can either stay at home all day and continue living your life like a robot doing the same old boring things everyday and complain about it and never do anything... or you can be a go getter and change your life and do things you've never done before and be successful and tell everyone to suck it... only You control your life, no one is pressuring you but you, which is a sign to get up and do something

As someone who has a lot of mates that age, I can say that money is the most important thing of all. Forget about women they come and go, money must absolutely be the priority.
Tbh if people kill themselves because of women then they deserve to die. LDAR, dead style.

life only begins at 30, mang.
i feel younger mentally than ever before, women love me more than they ever did, my band(that i started at 30) is playing in front of hundreds of people and we haven't even released anything yet.
calm down, meditate, do a little yoga, put yourself out there.
life's a party
tour is definitely not over

Can confirm on doing things on your initiative. I was fortunate to have been asked to join a running/hiking group last year. It has never been the same ever since. I found myself doing a lot more than I did when I was in my 20's.

I think it's better to accept that you aren't happy and just get on with it. Doesn't make sense that you'd always be happy in life. it waxes and wanes

this thread is depressing, but real though. i like these threads, because they reinforce what should be happening in your life. Awakening your goals of what you want to accomplish.
That's all it really is anyways, looking for the next thing to run with to make life somewhat easier. Every life should be unique to ones real purpose, or intentions after that we should encourage others to do the same.
Being positive takes a fuk load of time to encompass in your brain until you're effortlessly living with ease. Just really depends, everyone is different, so you got to be real honest to yourself at all times.
Some people are born with it, and are ruthless, and then become gangsters, politicians. While others are steadfast into making others happy while never seeking their own interest. Big mistake, and will always lead to depression.
We all gotta die someday so it's whatever. Work toward your goals, and take no for answers, and you should be able to get there, regardless of age. Think about yourself first, and put your family first as well.
Life is indeed tuff, but it's all about how we react to it, and remember we all die alone, so do what's best for you, and your thought process.

Lets be honest life sucks unless you were fortunate to be born to wealthy parents. Most people will say "oh my life will be better in 10 years" bs your life will only be better when youve got a ton of money, which for most of us will be never. Best thing to do is party hard do drugs hard and phuck girls even harder until one of those kills you. Good luck brahs
