Sorry OP..I dont believe this at all. Im 42 and in Corp America. The ladies in their late 30s and 40s are desperate. I work with them and chat with them daily so I hear it all of the time.

Half of my wifes friends that are divorced 7/10s with kids have no options. They ask me constantly to hook them up with my single friends and the only requirement is that they "have a good job". They dont even care about height or looks..They just want security.

The dating pool for women in their 40s is ridiculously small because decent looking men with good jobs dont want to get married again because they got raped financially in their divorce or are looking for a younger women.

I was walking in the city one day and heard a lot of yelling coming from somewhere in front of me.

I didn't know where it was coming from until a few people moved out of the way, and I saw what seemed to be a 40 year old unbathed manlet yelling at the floor.

He was convinced the floor had wronged him in some way and felt the need to assert himself in a very discerning and aggressive manner.

To this day I have no idea what the floor had done wrong, all I know is the small unbathed manlet was thoroughly unimpressed.
