As for the HCQ, here's a study done recentlyhttps://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2012410which says they couldn't find proof of HCQ being either good or bad for end-stage COVID patients (those intubated).

2) Social distancing has been proved to be effective: see Surgeon General, CDC, FDA, WHO guidelines. As for the vitamins part, you can't really fault him for not recommending vitamins because people will use that to twist his words, eg. "Fauci says upping vitamin D intake helps coronavirus, here's why that's false." People high up in medical fields can't just recommend things willy nilly since they're looked to as experts.
Can't comment on the back-and-forth about masks. That was plain stupidity.
I read the article regarding HCQ trials done by James Todaro. However, if you read the link I posted above, many more MDs are stating that HCQ hasn't been proven to be effective for even end-stage COVID patients, let alone the claims that it can prevent it entirely.

3) Not denying that it wasn't released by a lab in China. All I know is that coronaviruses are found in the wild bat population. Doesn't mean that they haven't been experimenting with it in labs.

4) That can be attributed to a lack of testing, but I can't comment 100% on that. Also, if you could post a .org study regarding the funeral homes and/or inflated numbers, I'd appreciate it. No offense, but I've seen enough of Project Veritas videos' to know that I don't trust their reporting.
I'm not buying your stance on the vitamins issue. If that's the case, where's the apology for this whole thing since new york is reporting more "cases" under people staying at home.
I don't have a study. This is a common sense judgement. if you have these hospitals attributing covid counts to so many deaths, which is heard not only under veritas, and then you have all these other contributions from where influenza cases aren't counted/minimally, all this contributes to cases that cannot be trusted.

1)
The reality is that New Yorkers, along with the rest of the country, aren’t truly staying inside all day, safe from exposure to COVID-19, the disease the coronavirus causes.

“I think that ‘staying at home’ is more than that,” Nathan Grubaugh, an assistant professor in the department of epidemiology of microbial diseases at the Yale School of Public Health, told McClatchy News in an email.

He mentioned that grocery shopping, walks in the neighborhood, ordering food and grabbing your mail can all expose you to someone who may be infected.

”There are lots of ways to get exposed,” Grubaugh said. “I highly doubt that many people are truly locked in with no outside contact.”

This is where the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention coronavirus guidelines come in handy: wash your hands, wear a face mask, avoid close contact with others and disinfect surfaces as much as possible.

2) I don't really understand what you mean by this part. You're saying that they're attributing deaths that aren't covid to covid?

I remember when this virus was supposed to mutate into a deadlier strain.

Still killing the same bingocels and vapecels it was killing months ago. Until then, we need to weigh the demographic being killed to the overall health of the economy. If that's the case, we should re-open as is.

shulan was closed a little bit before that city and they're in the same province. read that the new cases had been traced to a laundronat there. im in china now and the rest of china is up n running tho with a few cases here and there. so it's not that serious still. one dude in shanghai had it and rode the metro for example

This happened to both my feet within a 3 week period in Jan/Feb. This is one of the rarer symptoms but a symptom nonetheless.

Totally came on out of the blue. Felt like I got stepped on. Feet blew up and got black and blue....mainly top of the foot to the toes.

I had rona.

There will be clusters and smaller outbreaks as we open up, and there will be more cases of the virus. Those are inevitable, but the key is to have our testing / contact tracing regimens in place so we can avoid another round of exponential growth.

Although some media outlets seem to be posting up articles with headlines blabbering about 100million+ or 108million Chinese people in a new lockdown, I can't find anything to substantiate those numbers. Some articles are saying two or three cities in the Dongbei region have been locked down, and the Dongbei region as a whole has 100million+ people. But I can't find anything saying that entire region is locked down.

And interestingly, that headline seems to be mostly posted on Financial news sites. A Forex website, BNN Bloomberg, and a few others. Are they trying to create another dip in the market? Or what's the motive here

this has nothing to do with socialized healthcare. The issue with sweden is they may be a little higher now but no second spike and they will be past this before anyone else.

No lockdown is better because we wouldn't have had a economic crash to deal with at the same time and wasted 3T for something that we caused ourselves. Lockdown old folks homes and let everyone else take care of business.

the virus itself wasn’t created in a lab
The ability to infect humans was created in the lab

https://www.sciencealert.com/here-s-...n-a-lab-rumour

It's a rumour that just won't die. When asked whether the COVID-19 virus was genetically engineered in a lab, scientists have already said "no" rather firmly, but the matter of the new coronavirus' origin is unlikely to be put to rest so easily.

Discussions around this subject have become even more pertinent since US government intelligence officials are reportedly investigating the potential source of the pandemic, focussing on theories that it may have originated in a laboratory, despite all evidence pointing to SARS-CoV-2 not being human-made.

"All evidence so far points to the fact the COVID-19 virus is naturally derived and not man-made," explains immunologist Nigel McMillan from the Menzies Health Institute Queensland.

"If you were going to design it in a lab the sequence changes make no sense as all previous evidence would tell you it would make the virus worse. No system exists in the lab to make some of the changes found."

Back in late March, we covered a study published in Nature Medicine, in which the researchers investigated the genomic data of SARS-CoV-2 - particularly the receptor-binding domain (RBD) sections of the virus - to try and discover how it mutated into the virulent and deadly version we're currently struggling to contain.

As a by-product of their research, they were able to determine that SARS-CoV-2 was not genetically manipulated.

"By comparing the available genome sequence data for known coronavirus strains, we can firmly determine that SARS-CoV-2 originated through natural processes," one of the researchers, Scripps Research immunologist Kristian Andersen, said at the time.

"Two features of the virus, the mutations in the RBD portion of the spike protein and its distinct backbone, rules out laboratory manipulation as a potential origin for SARS-CoV-2."

Although it is clear the virus was not created in the lab,
there have been ongoing concerns it may have 'escaped' a research facility, with most of the speculation - understandably - focussed on the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). However, it remains just speculation. The Washington Post recently reported that US embassy officials had safety concerns about the lab back in 2018, and the institute did keep a closely related bat virus - but even that's far from a smoking gun.

"The closest known relative of SARS-CoV-2 is a bat virus named RaTG13, which was kept at the WIV. There is some unfounded speculation that this virus was the origin of SARS-CoV-2," explains University of Sydney evolutionary virologist, Edward Holmes.

"However, RaTG13 was sampled from a different province of China (Yunnan) to where COVID-19 first appeared and the level of genome sequence divergence between SARS-CoV-2 and RaTG13 is equivalent to an average of 50 years (and at least 20 years) of evolutionary change."

Now, it is important to note that viruses can mutate naturally anywhere - in animal hosts, in humans, or even in laboratory cell cultures. Unfortunately, it's difficult to determine where and how the new coronavirus acquired its mutations, although most researchers think the process involved an animal host.

Additionally, researchers are still investigating if the necessary mutations for causing the new disease occurred before or after SARS-CoV-2 made the jump to humans.

The institute at the centre of the controversy has repeatedly denied accusations of being the source of the pandemic. Back in March, head of bat coronavirus research at WIV, Shi Zhengli, explained that when she first received samples from early COVID-19 patients, she immediately did a thorough investigation at her department, finding no match between the viruses her lab had been working on, and COVID-19 patients.

"That really took a load off my mind," she told Scientific American. "I had not slept a wink for days."

What experts do agree on is that a pandemic like this is no surprise. Scientists have been warning governments for years that a new disease was on the horizon, and that many countries were woefully under-prepared.

For example, the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci, told the incoming US government administration in January 2017 about the inevitability of a "surprise outbreak", urging them to make preparations.

"We've been aware for some time that another coronavirus, like SARS and MERS before it, could cause a pandemic, and so in many ways, the emergence of a new coronavirus with pandemic potential is not a surprise," explains La Trobe University epidemiologist Hassan Vally.

"We have to be careful to not aid those irresponsibly using this global crisis for political point-scoring by giving any oxygen to these and other rumours."

Has anyone even brought up the fact that Farley1324 keeps bringing up how bad things are going to get but he lives in the state that opened almost 3 weeks ago and has seen a decrease in cases?

Lets ignore that fact and keep making presumptions and assumptions about the future.

Nobody is going to stay inside completely for 3 months without seeing the daylight. If you were to look at New York now compared to before, it would look like a low population town in the Midwest. Not to mention how unhealthy that is, if you were to actually do that.

no, the second wave won't hit right away. It takes 1-2 weeks to show symptoms and the number of carriers right now is low, so itll probably take like 6-8 weeks to show, but when it does, it's gonna suck.

No, the second wave won't hit right away. It takes 1-2 weeks to show symptoms and the number of carriers right now is low, so itll probably take like 6-8 weeks to show, but when it does, it's gonna suck.

you do understand that even if you do not die from COVID, studies have shown that it can cause irreversible damage in the lungs of healthy young individuals?

you are worse than the normal ignorant people who just go along like sheep. you chose to spew misinformation because it has disrupted your life. when you or someone you infect due to your nonchalant attitude have irreversible lung damage will you still feel the same way? or 10 years from now when you need an inhaler everytime you hit the gym will it have been worth it?

open with precautions is what most reasonable people are saying. you are just saying OPEN OPEN OPEN MASKS ARE BAD and make yourself sound like an idiot.
Christ, does this bitch still post on the Misc???
