yep I was talking about the Seiko 5 Sports watch with a suit..The SNZF17K1 to be specific. The monster I would strictly only wear casually lol

Anyways I ordered a SNZF17K1 and got it today.. I guess this is my first analog watch.. Not my first watch since that would be that dere basic digital Casio watch lol.. After that I just wore diigital G-Shocks through out.. well apart from a timex sport watch i have for wearing with a suit cuz im not going to be wearing a G-Shock with it lol

The case back is actually glass so I can see the mechanism inside.. its mostly obscured by a weight I think is used for the automatic winding.. Doesn't look as good as the Speedmaster sapphire back but its nice.

BUT ran into trouble because the bracelet is waay too big for my 6.5in wrist!
There is no way I can wear this watch without removing links in the bracelet.

I tried to do it myself using a paper clip but failed.. Do you guys think it's wroth it going to a mall kiosk and getting it fixed or should i just try doing it myself?
While you were partying I studied the Blade.

ebay you can get a kit for like 10-15 bucks……..pays for itself after a few time uses. Very simple/easy if you plan on adding more watches.

For a very high end watch I would have someone fit it for me….but 99% of the time just do it yourself. I learned in literally 2 minutes.

THanks mane. thing is I don't have any idea what tools to get or how to do it lol.. I watched a few vids and i was able to get the crossbar on the clasp off but the links are a no go.. The vid i watched had bracelets with little holes in each link where u can put in a tiny screwdriver and force out a bolt-thing that lets u remove the link..

Anyways i think for the first time i will just get it under at the mall if it's gonna be around $10 and then get a kit and learn..
Is this something like this what you're talking about kits?

yes that kit has everything…..it can be confusing @ first but quite simple once you realize what is going on.

Most bracelets you either tap/push a small pin like tool through (little arrows usually show you which way to push.) then you pull out pin/link….remove then close with the remaining links.

Some have a screw in when you simply unscrew it. If you need it asap go to the mall.

top left tool (gray ) in the kit actual is what you need. Put the watch in there…line up that pin and push out the bar. just make sure you have a cloth on the table not to scratch anything.

That kit has far more chit than you'll ever need if you are just resizing a bracelet. I'd rather spend that money on one or two good quality tools instead. Sizing a watch is easy, and there is pretty much no way for you to cause irreparable damage.

This is just general advice since I don't know what tool you need for the watch you mentioned.

EDIT: assuming this is the tool you need, this is pretty much the gold standard as far as bracelet spring bar removal and push pin thing goes:

I would not recommend tools like these, the quality of these things are piss poor and you have a good chance ending up scratching the watch and/or bracelet. A bergeon springbar remover runs for more than the cost of this set.

A decent watch shop will resize a bracelet for free, just make sure you go to something at roughly the same price range of your watch.

For now the Avenger Bandit is going on a Panatime leather strap. I love that combination of subtle titanium and leather.

It looks like it's wider than my wrist, but that's an illusion of the close up shot…the lugs are slightly less wide than my wrist. Anyway, this shot really shows how the bezel looks in the light.

I remember you telling me that a while back that you hadn't fallen in love with a watch for a long time, and you were just flipping stuff and barely wearing anything special.
Crazy how sometimes a beautiful piece like this changes that.

Morning guys,

Anyone looking to get into the hobby with an affordable mechanical watch I'm looking to get rid of my Steinhart Ocean ONE GMT Pepsi. The head is in perfect condition because I sent it in to the factory cause I didn't like the bezel action, so they replaced the case entirely. It has since been worn maybe 2-3 times, bracelet has some swirls as can be expected. The only thing that's wrong with it is the magnifier is slightly out of rotational alignment over the date window but it's enough that I can notice it at the right angle and I can't stand it. With that said misc pricing for all my bros. PayPal and insured shipping. Let me know.

opinion on the oysterquartz? aparently i have a thing for watches with integrated bracelets like the Royal Oak, Nautilus, Vacheron 222 etc. but i cant break the bank really. I'm really torn right now, on the one hand i like the design and you cant get one relatively cheap (compared to the others mentioned), on the other hand it's (as the name suggests lol) a quartz watch which kinda puts me off. while it's still a rolex i'm not really keen to pay that much for a quartzwatch. help me brahs

for your time

Oysterquartz is awesome. Grand Seiko makes an amazing quartz movement, but no integrated bracelet.

Looking at a $3K GS quartz myself.

Leading to my next point, for my horobros like kaba, niche, and that Belgian guy. Thoughts on spending $2K on a quartz cartier tank solo on bracelet? I much prefer the aesthetics of the quartz tank solo to the automatic. I like the no date look and lack of a second hand. I'm just wondering the value in what I assume is a stock ETA quartz movement, in a $2K watch.

I needed a new everyday watch since the band on my Suunto Core broke. And the battery died, as well.

So I got the Elementum Terra. This is third Suunto I've had. First being the Vector. And second being the Core.

Went on a catalogue ordering spree the other night, first couple just arrived today: Longines and Lange & Shne. Still to come are Roger Dubuis, Omega, Vacheron Constantin, Piaget, Panerai, IWC, Nomos and Omega. Couldn't get anything from Rolex, AP and Patek.

Wristcheck - My best friend just traded in his special edition Speedmaster for an Explorer + cash. Really starting to get a hard on for Rolex.
