Express version is free. No local adjustments, sessions, advanced tools for keystoning and color, no tethering but then they're not giving away their $400 flagship software. There's still more than enough there to process your Sony RAW files. Upgrading to the pro version for Sony is $79.

Upside with C1 is it's going cost less than LR and you can buy the latest version outright. $79 for their pro software is a pretty good deal for Sony users.
I haven't bothered upgrading to v11, I'm still at v9, and everything works fine. With the Adobe model my card would be getting reamed whether I'm using it or not. I prefer paying for software and then upgrading if I feel like it as opposed to renting it.

C1 works well but it isn't half the intuitive workflow tool LR is which has a much better database based system. C1 shines with project-based work shooting tethered in a studio. I've tried like 3 different versions of it because it does do a good job on nikon files but always end up back with LR.

I looked up the LR CC plan and $10/month is quite reasonable but I'd say most would be tempted to go all in for $53/month to have everything and that would add up quickly.

First time trying image stacking. I think 1 or 2 photos were misaligned so it's a little blurry

Awesome thanks, i appreciate the help. I might just leave the flash at home and rely on the light inside the building/use my flashlight to paint. I love to bracket my shots so I dont know why I didn't even think about it (probably because I only shoot landscapes and never did this type of photography). I will post some of my results come Sunday if I get time after the shoot.
They are all bracketed shots also. I loved using my 12mm. I also used my 50mm Macro a lot. I think only the black and white one was from the 50mm

Anyway, a lot of the technical side of photography seems overwhelming at first but the amount of variables are actually pretty small so it starts to come together fairly quickly. Making good pictures with this knowledge is a whole 'nother thing though.

Agree with this. Be wary…A ton of photogoraphy tutorials on youtube/other means are a front to try and sell more gear today…it's a bit frustrating but I see where it's coming from.
Really try and outgrow your gear…it may take a few years but I think you get the idea.

I want to get a godox AD600 / flashpoint xplor 600
waiting for it to hit $429 again like he has in the past on slickdeals.
currently have a v860ii / flashpoint r2 zoom, and I want to expose more for the background in daylight with more a powerful strobe..
** also for adobe to charge $10 a month for lightroom when they have not even re-written the code of the program is ridiculous. You have ipad running (newly coded lightroom) at almost instant speeds, but they continue to ignore PC.

I have Lightroom with a Free Creative Cloud Membership, and I don't pay any monthly fee, this different than what everyone is bitching about?
Cleaned the sensor and lenses before going on the trip to California, but noticed on the last day another dust spec, I tend to change lenses a couple times when I'm out and about, it was exceptionally windy at Point Reyes, they closed the lighthouse down, so we had to hoof to it.
Had processed a ton of pictures on lightroom the past few years, but didn't effectively back them up, source files moved, got a new computer and have moved all my pictures to the new computer, organized them more efficiently, but I don't know if lightroom will be able to re-connect with the images once they move? File name stayed the same, just folder structure changed. Am I going to have to re-process all the images? I have a catalog but not sure what was all captured on it. Figure it's a good time to re-do the 500px website as well, different photo signature now, old one was generic text, probably eliminate some pictures as I look through them another time too.
Here are some phone photos from the trip. I find it interesting that despite having actual camera equipment, when I see an excellent shot, I usually take a follow-up picture with my phone. Maybe wifi on the camera would eliminate that. Typically easier to share phone photos across social media apps, and some phone shots can be stellar. In doing this I've sometimes found that I prefer my phone image to the camera image, difference between lenses I suppose, There was a Mono-Lake shot two years back that I loved on the phone, but when I looked later at the wide angle lens shot on the camera, it had less of an impact.
Anyone heard from Final Rep in a while? Last I heard he moved to the states, he posted some on his ******** photography page, but seems to have died off.

Just checked his FB page and he posted a few months back that he will no longer be updating it due to their privacy breaches, bad photo compression, etc. Hopefully he starts posting again somewhere.
