Wow that is quite a statement, I'm impressed. I haven't handled a Nomos myself but now I'm very intrigued.

I have always liked the look of them, but now you just put this idea in my head? My wallet hates you lmao.

Times change and usually people get over things like this, however the wrist watch collecting community is different. We are very picky and appreciate heritage and vintage watches. So this may come back to bit CW in the azz.

Gifted a new watch winder recently…the Seamaster lives here for now. It's a very dark red wood…kind of hard to tell from the pics.

Does using a watch winder increase the frequency that you need to service the watch? Being constantly "in use" is it like putting more miles on a car?

It's not always rotating them, you set it to a frequency and it rotates them every 4 hours or so, it's probably better than letting the sit dormant because the oils etc dont sit too long and gunk up.

I think it's quite the opposite - letting them sit will increase the required service frequency.

There seems to be arguments for both using and not using a watch winder. I've read places that it constantly running means it may need a service quicker due to wear and other places that letting a watch sit can dry oils out and obviously using the crown to constantly wind/set time causes wear.

TBH think both cases it's minimal and pretty much personal preference. If I had a perpetual calendar or some **** I think a watch winder would be a must simply for convenience.

So you're a watch enthusiast who buys an $80,000 patek but forgets to screw down the crown…bull**** brah no one is that careless. That crown couldn't be screwed down any more even if you tried. Nothing wrong with wearing a replica for yourself but don't post that and try to play it off like its a gen 5980. The fact that you haven't posted anymore close up pics just confirms that you're a fraud, you're the reason rep owners are looked down on.
