Not everyone enjoys competing. And not everyone who is a great shooter is a great competitor.
That's a retarded take. People who are gOoD at something usually have a demonstrated record of skill and experience. He's never been in a fight, and he doesn't shoot comps. He's a ****ing actor.

Like I said before, T Rex Arms does a lot of good for the community. I don't have any personal issue with Botkin…I don't care what he does. Hopefully he sells a lot of gear. I'm also not watching his videos for training advice of all things. Nobody here really bad mouthed Lucas. The topic came up and we offered opinions. Your obsession with him is unhealthy…he's been pretty public about his thoughts on homosexuality, I don't think you have a chance man.

7.62x39 isn't an inaccurate round, but the most popular platform for it(AK) is a lot less accurate than an AR. Top-tier shorty SBR would be an Ace Gen II in x39

Lmao I couldn’t care less about him as a person or his company.

That doesn’t change the fact that you’re absolutely fking retarded to say he’s not a very, very good shooter.

Stay mad about it though.

PS: Let me know how many takes and how much editing it takes you to get to his draw-to-first-shot times, splits, etc.
Looking forward to the video.

On the other hand, I would never take a class from Lucas. I have no problem taking a class from a civilian, recognizing that you're there to learn marksmanship and not tactics or anything like that. However Lucas' skill as a shooter is vapor wear. If he was truly a good shooter, he'd be competing and placing high in comps consistently. From what I've heard, he's only competed once or a handful of times, and did not do well. That, to me, says that he's only skilled when the cameras are rolling.
That is the source of the consternation

Once you prompted to watch his content with the "let's run a drill on an empty range until I get an awesome time and show that run" mentality, you stop watching them lol

He does shoot for a living and he is fast

I'm sure that happens. A lot.

But he also has a **** load of one takes where the camera doesn't stop or cut at all from the time the timer goes off until the drill is done and he shows target hits and the shot timer showing some absolutely insane first shot times and splits with A zone hits.

IDGAF if anyone loves or hates him. Feelings aside and just judging him as a shooter - he's a damn good shooter.

And you aren’t understanding what I’m saying.

How many takes does it take you or anyone ITT until you can post dozens and dozens of videos with his insane first shot times, splits, and accuracy with said insane times?

You can’t. Just like no one else talking **** about him in this thread can. Lol

Oh, ok.

So as gathered from multiple posts itt, he’s:
- not a good shooter because muh multiple takes and who was shooting competitions
- but also better than anyone itt

Glad that’s clear.

Bearing also in mind that it's a demonstration of skill within an extremely narrow band. If you repetitively rehearse one drill over and over and over and over again for that shot for the gram, of course you'll get fast. If you want to cultivate actual useful skill (i.e., to fight, or to win comps) you have to be able to function across a wider band of situations.

You don't need to like competing to shoot competitively, either in competitions against other people, or designated courses of fire to compete against a standard (e.g. quals). You need do it because it's a way to measure aptitude outside of your comfort zone, to test your skills in general unrehearsed situations.

Total number of comps where Botkin has placed in the top 3 = 0 as far as I know. You might as well take a class from Tom Cruise since, in one highly-rehearsed scene, he was extremely fast.

They're both actors . The fact that you can't tell the difference says it all.

This. It’s weird that people are so obsessed with him that any questioning is immediately met with severe hostility and accusations of those people must be awful shooters lol. The cult following is just weird.

I wouldn’t have much opinion for him either way if he didn’t lie or try to teach tactics when he knows absolutely nothing about them.

Just swapped gas block on my 11.5” BHF upper yesterday and it was a 100% nightmare. I don’t know if they rocksett the gas block screws or what, but absolutely no amount of heat would get them to break loose. Ended up setting the entire upper up in one of the mills here at the shop and literally milling the block off.

Ex: guy comes in asking for an AR
