Made turkey lasagna tonight. Substituted the pasta with zucchini. Replaced ricotta with fat free cottage cheese and some liquid egg whites. Low fat mozzarella on top and in the middle. Taste is out of this world. IF really helps in this area as I've only consumed 250 calories while at work today( black coffee really got me through). Will be able to eat two servings plus a scoop of whey before bed tonight.

Edit- took first dump of the day. Anyone else have poops that are super rancid? I mean to die for.

anybody doing lyle mcdonal rapid fat loss? just finished 5 weeks of it...now doing maintenence for 2 weeks. i started with a lot of body fat. but i'm thinking after these two weeks, i'll do one more round of rapid fat loss, then i should be good to start bulking after that

What do you mean when you say you failed?

What does it matter whether you are or aren't in ketosis?

I'm quite lean as well and feel just fine eating 1 big meal before bed

phahah don't ask. stopped lifting week 3. and my lifts were poverty anyway, bench x 5 was under 80kg, squats 90kgx5, deadlifts were like 105kg x 5.
had to start at like 60kg bench x 5 at the end.

i was mostly just sleeping the last week. chit was unbearable. got to 130lbs even. Looked shredded tho. I am a bit leaner than the first pic rn, have to make it 1 month and will make another comparison pic. But now i don't have a goal, so i usually eat too much weekends.

Tried this as per Lyle Mcdonalds protocol about 3 or 4 years ago. Went 10 or 12 days. I think he says 12 is max. Lost a legit 3/4 lb / day. But I would never do it again. It messed up my cns. Took me about 2 months to recover to where I could contract and fire my muscles as they should. I tend to base most of my training around simple compound lifts done 'heavy' (heavy being a relative term). Needless to say, I did not like the after effects and now just diet conventionally.

The problems I suffered I have heard others have had similar things happen. Basically, after the diet, when I lifted heavy, my eccentric portion of most of my lifts was plagued bu misfiring, twitchy, jerky muscles. It was VERY frustrating as nothing was firing right. Getting up in heavier weights you cant afford breaks in form. The jerkiness was so bad, I had to wait until I got better until I resumed 'heavy' training again. IIRC, it took almost 2-3 months before I got completely past it. (even after resuming a 'normal' diet).

Not worth it to me. If I needed a ton of weight loss and strength was not an important part of my training, I think it would be a great option. For me though I dont need it. I stay lean year round now and have the past few years. At my stage in the game, bulk/cut does not really yield anything.

I think PSMF is a tool in the shed, but for me personally a 500-700 cal deficit gets the job done with minimal mass loss as well. Being where I am now, overnight changes are not necessary. You look very lean. If that is you in the pic, I would just diet normal a few weeks and not mess around with it. Just my thoughts.

I found the thread when I did it. It was about 4 years ago. I was just coming off a 5 month bulk so I had a decent amount to drop and wanted to jump start my cut. It is a mini log but has some good info and day by day along with post diet of how I felt.

Notes I took out of negatives.
-TERRIBLE joint pain
-Weird heartburn almost every night
-hiccups that lasted for almost 4 days
-weakness which did not bounce back after carbs were reintroduced

Up the protein and add in broc****. You don't even have to count the broc**** calories. Don't forget fish oil.

Sounds like you didn't do something right.


Weighed in at 169.8 yesterday morning which is about a pound a day since I've started( started at 177.8). It seems once I got into week two and back into ketosis, my body had adapted nicely and I no longer had the negative symptoms I hade in days 3&4. I could see hitting 162/3 by week's end before getting a cheat meal again.

also: The guy in that other thread wrote that on week 4 he only did shakes & potassium & multivit (no meat no veggies as far as i understood) and thats where best difference happened. Anyone looking to do the shake approach?

This was excellent for what it is. Further down the page she has a recipe booklet for two bucks that has some amazingly tasty meal in it. Get it and thank me later.

If you can,etnslly handle the satiety problems that come with just drinking shakes, then go for it, I know Lyle recommended either casein or casein/whey mix to keep you satiated longer if you decided to do that method. As long as you're getting in your proper macros and micros for the diet, I guess there really isn't any approach to food you can't take. Me personally, I'd do it by the book the first go around until you've got a grasp on your mental( satiety/hormones) and physically( gym) then slightly modify from there.

Thanks. Yeah well I did it a few years ago and hormones crashed. I had a superhotgf at the time and we had plenty of sex, my dick wouldnt showup for the entire time. after 2-3 days in it was dead down there. so i know whats coming

Day 5, now I'm back to where I was before I had my largest binge (14000-16000 kcals)
it took me a bit longer than I expected but it's all good, probably going for 2-3 days and after that going back to normal

What did you ate to reach 750 kcals?

I take my calcium, magnesium, fishoil, b12, d, zinc just before I eat and I eat everything in one meal before bed and no strength loss here either. Don't you feel miserable eating that low calories in multiple meals?

My sleep is the best it has been in ages srs, whenever I eat super low calories I sleep the best, no idea why

Only time I feel chit is straight upon waking for like half an hour, after that I feel generally good

I'd like to try this but can't see it working with bjj 5x pw. Already doing eat stop eat but binging way too much on the weekend. Any of you guys tried this kinda chit with sport training? How'd it go?

Aim is to cut from 16-17% to 10% in 4 months....

Your mental state may not be for this diet if you quit from a bad tasting meal.

It looks to me like the guy didn't follow the book like he was supposed to. Make sure to take the vitamins you're supposed to take and hit the macros you're supposed to hit and everything will be fine. Remember, this is a crash diet that's meant for the short term, nothing will be permanently damaged in such a short amount of time.

Make sure you refeed when it tells you to and have a nice cheat meal once a week if you're a category 2/3.

Just do a normal cut, 4 months is plenty of time to reach your goal. I get that people want results now, but I feel like crash dieting is just no bueno. I'm gonna try to never go above 14% bf again MAX (preferably not over 12%). That way I can diet normally for 6-8 weeks and get into the 9% range.
