Someone within bb.com or on the outside is hacking into my account and changing my titles. I'm now keeping tabs on all of my posts and title information.

Changing someones post title is actually a crime believe it or not. So while the person or geek who is doing this thinks it's a joke, you're actually committing a crime. Typing something and logging into someones account and pretending to be them, is an actual crime. So go ahead. Be my guest. Keep it up. What do you have to lose? Keep it up by all means if you think you're having a good time.

It's called the social band wagon. You follow someone because others are following. You follow the crowd. It's the party effect. You want to be where others are. If someone has no followers then you feel like you're missing out on the party. You follow the people with the most followers already because you want to join in on that party.
