If we want to get 'normies' on board, then we have to go to where 'normies' go, otherwise it's just a circle jerk. The misc (despite appearences) is pretty 'normie' when it comes to politics. People are mainly either conservatives or liberals, and so whatever their preferred Conservative or Liberal outlets tells them is so, they consider anything outside of that narrative 'stupid' or 'crazy'.

Regardless, there are plenty of mainstream media outlets that have tried to warn people about the potential dangers of Smart Technology to liberty.

VICE working with HBO, WIRED, The Economist, Vox, etc. They've all got pieces warning about the dangers of smart technology being used for surveillance.

Films like; The Enemy Of The State, Snowden, The Circle (with Emma Watson), were all warning about it. Along with TV shows like Black Mirror.

Mainstream documentaries like; Citizen Four and The Great Hack, were warnings too.

I forgot to add even the BBC and Channel 4 (majormainstream news stations in the UK) have warned about surveillance, both state and corporate. There is a 45 minute interview I can post on Channel 4, where they interview an author who I previously posted, where she warns about the data gathering of corporations, and how they use Smart tech to do so.
