^^^^ It's completely our difference in philosophy. I obviously understand the close games shows our progress and us being closer to contenders, hell we've contended the last three games. The thing I am saying is as someone not blatantly looking for losses or satisfied with them it's really frustrating to watch the team lose the way they do. TBH any loss frustrates me but I had more of a knowing feeling last two years making me take it easier during the losses where this season is hard cause we're so close to winning and blow it.

I understand. Loses are always tougher to take when you had a legit chance to win the game. I think if you try to see it from the other perspective…that it means we're closer to being contenders with time and better talent it's easier to take

We've been in every game outside of the Carolina one. And even that one we were playing well until the Foster injury. I think we have some nice pieces on both sides of the ball.

Truthfully there was a part of me rooting against us in that last drive. If it was the QB class from last year I wouldn't have but because there's some guys that could really change our franchise I'm more worried about that than winning a meaningless game.

Looking way too ahead, I really want us to spend the top half of the draft all on offense. Obviously get a QB in the top 5, then get a guard/center and WR in the next couple of rounds. If we do that, our rookie QB will be put in an actual good situation with the offensive coaching, a decent offensive line, a good running back and a very reliable receiver in Garçon. I also like Kittle, even though he had a drop today, maybe not great ball placement but he should've still caught it.

BTW we must have the most drops on defense this year. I feel like we drop 2-3 sure picks a game and even more 50/50's. And I'm tired of looking at our defensive coordinator. They show him more than Shanahan and he just looks sleezy like a snake oil salesman lol.

I really hope the staff is considering starting CJ soon. Hoyer is so dang erratic and inconsistent. On one throw he makes an unbelievable on target throw and makes you wonder why he has been on 6 teams and then the next 5 throws are horrid. Yeah the drops by the receivers aren't helping but every QB has to deal with those.

I cheered when CJ went in only to see that they ran the ball and Hoyer came in after. Hard to see Hoyer go from last weeks game to playing like this. For the most part I am happy to we we are some what "some what" competitive and losing these last few games by a little. Better than being blown out… That at least gets me excited for the next two years. We still are missing a few pieces and once we get those we should be better. But at the same time some of our players (Staley, Bowman ect…) we be either off the team or too old, so we have to replace them.

I don't understand why Kyle is still sticking with Hoyer. We are 0-4 and everyone in the world knows Hoyer is just a bridge QB and at this point he isn't even that. Why not let the rookie play some snaps? What is the worse that can happen? Let CJ play a half or something.

Maybe Kyle promised Hoyer a long leash?

He's there at practice every day. Beathard probably looks worse than Hoyer.

He obviously did. Here's an article that recaps a lot of the points on why Kyle is sticking with Hoyer. Can't really disagree with any of it.

http://www.mercurynews.com/2017/10/0...thard-for-now/

Hoyer has been bad but benching him when we've been in our last 3 games and receivers haven't exactly always done their job it would set a bad precedent.

Plus while we're always excited about the unknown factor with rookies….maybe as was already mentioned he's just not showing enough in practice to warrant the start over a vet QB.

Good points I guess. I think Beathard probably isn't showing enough in practice to be ready. if he were Kyle probably would consider it.

However what's infuriating about the above is that the reason Hoyer is starting is because he's supposed to be the savvy vet who knows this offense very well. Given the struggles we have scoring points he HAS to make that read.

It's not like he was looking in the other direction. His first read looks to be Taylor. Arizona actually fuks up and 3 guys go in to cover Taylor. As a vet Hoyer has to have a lightbulb go off in his head that 3 on 1 means someone is open in the area.

i think its cuz once you make the switch, you don't want to keep switching. CJ isn't ready, and they want to bring him along and let him learn without throwing him to the wolves and ruining him like so many other QB prospects have by being thrown to the wolves. I mean even Brady sat for a while…

I think later in the year, after more development, I could see putting CJ in if we're up by a lot(LOL), or down by a lot and the game is out of reach, and there is no pressure to play lights out.

exactly, he's looking over there…i mean…what was he looking at? We keep seeing him miss reads like this constantly. Thats the part that is frustrating, he had plays to make against Seattle and LA, just like this. Instead he holds onto the ball and gets sacked, or dumps to a covered guy.

you would think that they're dissecting the film and he'd be more prepared/aware of it.

That's exactly my point. I was totally sold on Hoyer being at least an average QB especially considering the circumstances. Guess not. But yeah I see why Shanny isn't making the switch. I'm sure CJ isn't close to being ready yet

That's the thing…he's supposed to be the cerebral QB who knows where everyone is supposed to line up, where everyone is supposed to be.

He can't be missing chit like this, especially in moments like that in the game. Now I'm not that upset just because I'm cool with us tanking for a low round pick and either drafting a QB or if we decided to sign Cousins we could trade that pick for a chitload of picks to improve the roster all together.

I think that article did a really great job hitting the main reasons why it doesn't make sense to start CJ now. As fans we obviously want to know what we don't know. We haven't seen what Beathard can do vs actual defenses and the unknown is exciting. If he goes out there he could be a total disaster because he's not ready. Personally I think he'd be ok, nothing special but I think he's a smart dude and I think he's got a good grasp on the offense already which is why we cut Barkley. If he wasn't showing the coaches what they wanted they wouldn't have him as the #2 guy.

I think one of the biggest reasons Shanahan doesn't need to start Hoyer is because he was a 3rd round pick and because he's comfortable with his job. Everyone in the building understands this isn't a quick process so Hoyer stinking it up(but not to the point of throwing 4 picks and us getting blown out) means he's still at least pretending he wants to win(i'm sure he actually does)

Chicago and these other places where coaches are on the hot seat and can't afford to have their QBs look like ass need to play these guys right away, especially as is the case with Chicago when they trade so much to draft a kid at #2 overall.

Yes the best thing for most of them is to sit. But the public won't let that happen.

The way Hoyer is getting hit I think we see Beathard play this year but I don't think it will be with Hoyer being healthy. I'm good with it as long as the team plays hard and the young players who will make up this roster moving forward improve.

My biggest concern right now are our corners. Robinson is playing awful and I really don't understand why. Maybe he's just not comfortable with what the coaches are expecting of him but I'd figure he'd excel at it. As cocky as he is he plays very skiddish, all the interference calls have to stop. Stick with your guy and get your hands in there when the ball arrives, not before.

If we can't get a win today, somehow I don't even know what to say. Hoyer and Kittle already missed a TD opportunity and luckily we were able to overcome some penalties on offense already but we need to see ****ing TD's on offense. D will do their job.

Hoyer started out on fire but that pass to Kittle was off. Awful announcers as usual acting like that's a drop. Sorry dude but when you have to dive at a ball an inch from the ground that's not a drop…

I agree we should be able to win this game but we'll see how it goes.

No need to rush him out there IMO. Still a close game and there's time. Breida doing some good things.

One thing is for sure..we're being very consistent this year lol.

In most of all our games, shooting ourselves in the foot with drops, bad throws and penalties and bad calls by the refs.

Just giving him some change of pace carries and he's taking advantage.

Can't believe refs called that a TD. Such bad reffing.

Defense is exhausted cuz the offense can't do chit.

This is the **** that annoys me. They stop playing like retards and air the ball out when they're down 2 scores. Went stagnant all game on offense attempting to run the ball after the opening drive. Where is this playcalling the rest of the game?
