Pro Tip: If you set a table up at the entrance to a gun store in Georgia, and somebody walks in, to a gun store, in GA, wearing a camo shirt…and you say "hey I almost didn't see you 'cause of the camo hehehe"…there is a 0% chance I'm paying any attention to whatever the **** your kid is selling at that table.

Because that's real retarded, sir

noob question of the day. Any reason I shouldn't buy this combo for a DD Mk18 if I can find a deal on it?

Any options you'd prefer over it?

Only subjective reasons, it's a solid set up.

I demo'd one and decided I didn't want the magnifier.
I'd prefer red. Moreover I'd prefer an LPVO for a magnified optic.
I don't plan on shooting over 200 yds so I kept the Eotech.

Does anyone have recommendations on steel silhouette targets? Looking for A/C zone size (I think that's around 12" x 24"), 3/8" and mounted via 2x4s. The range has base stands all over, so I don't need that. They have a fair amount of steel targets that are free to move around and use as well, but I'd rather have my own that I can reliably use and not have to hunt around for them.

Figured out a plan for some new drills in a new area of the range I haven't used yet. Called Milsim City, it's a pretty large area of the range that is primarily used for airsoft/simmunition training, though I've never even seen it reserved since I've been a member. It's filled with a ton of various obstacles, vehicles, and buildings.

On one side of the city are four pistol bays that no one uses. My plan is to put a steel target in each of the four bays and run courses that advance through the city to the bays. The city would be split into various lanes, with left and right limits to stay generally on course as advancing. These lanes would be marked with cones or flags and always changeable.

Initial concept for drills is to have a shooter with a runner. Shooter advances towards the bays within a lane while the runner advances behind him. Sporadically, the runner would yell "contact", forcing the shooter to seek immediate cover and engage whichever targets he has line of sight on from that position. The obstacles throughout are quite dense, so not all targets would necessarily be seen from any given position of cover. Once each visible target from a position is hit a designated number of times, shooter continues advancing and the runner can continue to yell "contact" whenever.

There are numerous buildings throughout that have various doors and windows. I'm thinking of putting cardboard silhouettes in random doors/windows that face the pistol bays and we'd have to automatically clear any of those targets as we came up on them without being prompted by the runner. These cardboard targets could easily be rearranged and moved to always keep variety. Even the steel targets could be moved laterally just a few feet within each bay and really change the visibility on them from any of the positions of cover within each lane.

Pic below for reference. With how wide of an area this is, it may be far more than four lanes, too. We could also run this course laterally, or in reverse for breaking contact. Eventually, live fire maneuvers with multiple shooters is definitely happening.

I don't really have a good pic of Milsim City, here is the only one I have from a couple weeks ago looking at it from far left of the start of lane 1 in the above pic. Lot of options here, gonna be sick.

You really have spots/ranges like this is the middle of nowhere to use free reign? Or is this on a base somewhere? Couple people I know out west (ca) etc literally say they just go out to the desert to shoot. Never see it so I guess it’s fairly common to just have pop-up ranges to locals to use in the desert.

I left that ****hole early last year. I’m in Utah now. This range is about 40 minutes from me just outside of some towns. There is a ton of BLM land right next to this range but it’s privately owned. The range is also members only with 24/7 gated access. Super grateful to have something like this near me.

Shooting at Michigan State University, and just a month after Democrats took control of all 3 branches of the state government for the first time in 40 years. I wonder what comes next…

Good on you for leaving commiefornia. What constitutes BLM land?

How did you find out about that range? Is there many like that to choose from? Seems like every tuber and rangeboi making video has access to one of these remote ranges.

BLM is federally owned land that the public has access to. I'm sure that's way over generalizing it and I know not all BLM land allows the same activities, but much of the land in western states is owned by the federal government, including a large portion specifically by BLM.

I honestly don't remember how I found out about this range, but online somewhere. Utah is a very gun friendly state and there are actually a ton of gun industry companies based here, so we have ranges all over. This is the only range I'm aware of with these features this close to me, though. I may have seen the range when looking at local shooting courses. The range only has about 55 private members, but courses taught by a wide range of instructors/companies are run there regularly. The local sheriff's department has some sort of deal with the range to use it for training. Even the US Army's National Guard Special Forces unit (who is stationed in Utah) uses it from time to time. I got super lucky and when I found it the range was currently opening to new members. I applied and was accepted before I had even moved lol. I pay $500 a year.

Rep’d $500 is pretty pricey but being able to train basically whenever you want to practice skill is priceless. Basically another gym membership. Here I can go to any public ranges as long as I have a hunting license…(but you don’t get these nice courses etc)….and it’s public.

Just ordered a sling. A lot of talk of Vickers and slingster….I just decided to go the multi cam T-Rex sling. It’s a simplistic sling with less hardware (which I want…less noisy and less bulk). Thin but enough pad and won’t get caught on gear. I also really like the quick adjust material loop (as opposed to other brands that use metal or just a flap) to tighten and loosen. But really like the “reverse” installation of it so you can pull the loop away from your body to loosen. Basically it will be tight to my body then when I want to use it…one motion to grab the loop and pull away/toward the gun frame and my hand is already right there to grab the rail and start shooting. Comes with some nice ties to secure it away, but had to buy BCM QD fasteners

It averages out to $41 a month, I'm sure most of us spend more than that on retarded **** that doesn't provide any benefit lol. If you shoot a few times a year, it's probably not worth it. When not skiing, I'm going a few times a month so definitely worth it for me. There is plenty of BLM near me as well and I do plan to do some shooting there for even more flexibility, but nothing like what this range has to offer.

I run a Slingster and really like it, particularly for the quick retention adjustment it has that sounds similar to the TRex one you just got. I would never run a sling that doesn't have that feature after having this one.

Same. If you care at all about how your gun looks, Get the No Quarter sling silencer. The Slingster's metal adjustment thingy scratches the absolute hell out of your gun.

I recently bought a Blue Force Gear Vickers sling with metal QD’s. Maybe I haven’t used it enough yet but I don’t find it loud and it isn’t scratching anything yet.

My QD sling swivel will be metal…can't really get away from that if you want durability. (I bought the BCM QD D-loops) to plug into my QD points on the back/side of the rail by the mag well and the back of the receiver. but the material connects right to the QD "loop" (no metal clasp)….so no "jingling" there for metal on metal parts. Also the 2 tri-glides are non-metal and will not be noisy. The bro above was mentioning the metal parts on the slingster scratching (also noisier) the gun….with the T-rex you don't have to worry about it. The included sling keepers are heavy duty shock cord and hard plastic so those will be quiet as well.

Posted in an old thread like a jackass. Hey brahs, I’m new to this thread. I’m looking for a good self defense handgun for my wife to be able to use at home. Something with little recoil but good stopping power. Would hollow points do the trick? Are any of these good options?

Beretta 92
Sig Sauer P365
Glock G19

Thanks.
