My AD had it for 22,500 but I was able to negotiate him down, since my whole family buys so much from there, to $17k (it's the jumbo)

I gave them a deposit, hopefully they don't sell it to someone else. They only get one every 12-18 months. If I don't get it, I will prob get a Panda ROO they have.

I guess since the caseback is closed they can't sell it as new, even though it is, so steeply discounted from like 22 to 15k.

Ask around for a referral to a dealer either here or on one of the other watch forums. You should be able to find a good discount at an AD, and can even buy out of state to save tax if you don't care about using a local dealer.

Unless you have a good watch maker who can service the AP for you, please God DO NOT buy an AP from jomashop. You will not get a warranty with it and I've heard APs can be notorious for problems. Jomashops in house warranty you get with a purchase is completely worthless. They couldn't fix a simple quartz tissot chrono for me, and their customer service is atrocious.

Look on watchrecon for one. I'd keep an eye on forum favorite sellers like davidsw. You can get a new watch with full warranty with a decent discount.

I'm looking @ ref. 15400 (not the jumbo) ..I read that you can't really get it wet. Rain? is that an issue…..

also it looks like the price is around $16900 for the one I want. What would be a reasonable discount at a dealer.

Here is a white 15400 with full warranty from an AD for $13500. Idk which color one you're looking for but that seller is 100% legit, have used myself, and was selling the dark dialed one about a week ago as will.

Go to your local dealer if you want, look at the watch, and ask them what the best they can do on it is, 10% or so is pretty standard right up front. If you have a relationship with them or have a good referral, 20%+ is common.

Also, the rolexforums posted above is always a good place for deals. Just make sure you're buying from a reputable seller.

No worries. Glad to help. Wish I would have known this stuff when I got into the game. Yes, warranty applies. He is a very reputable seller. I've bought a Tudor from him previously. Give him a call if you have any concern.

Somebody needs to snatch this up, those linen dials are hnggg. Anytime we take these in as trade-ins they almost always get purchased as graduation gifts. Lifetime watch, will always mean something to them, holds value…. I just wish I wasn't the only one in my family interested in watches.

You just pull them in one watch at a time, either gift or sell them cheaply, below market value (so it's a safe bet for them). I already blinged out 3 of my 5 siblings

My brother is rocking a vintage 1980's Omega Seamaster quartz (I gifted it to him), I'll likely give him a mechanical watch at some point in the near future too.
My oldest sister has a two-tone 1990's quartz Reverso and a few vintage mechanical ladies Omega's (Seamasters mostly) (bought them from me)
My youngest sister has 2 or 3 vintage mechanical ladies Omega's (bought them from me).
My mom rocks an Omega quartz as well, amongst others (I gifted it to her)

Especially for women it's easy; those ladies Omega's are like $50-100, and they're classy as ****. The only problem is that many non-WIS don't want the hassle of mechanical watches - or in case of mothers: they're too lazy/blind to set the time themself, so mechs aren't very convenient

My first "real" watch, young adult period, wanted something flashy but still good (was this or omega speedmaster), now need something bigger (not huge) and better. Also old pic my arms are bigger now heh.

P.S. Had a lot of sloots go wet over having gold rolex, especially knowing it's real since so many ***s wear fake ****

Also, is it generally just preference if you need the month or day of the week on the watch? Is there some universally unspoken watch etiquette that says those things are tacky? They add quite a bit of cost to the watch.
