Very good idea to separate wedding and automotive photography. Wedding clients only want to see wedding pictures, same goes for automotive, having them separate is definitively the way to go.

Website looks great, simple menu, all the photographs laid out in a big thumbnail gallery, it is a standard photography website layout but for a good reason; it is very convenient to navigate like this.
The automotive photographs selection is perfect to me. Very nice selection and in the right amount. I would say for the motorsport section that you could trim it down to the absolute best ones in the same amount as in the automotive section.
You could also skip the homepage and have your website start directly in the automotive or motorsport section, more of a personal preference for this of course, but I find that a homepage that is basically empty and makes you chose between automotive or motorsport is an unnecessary step.
Nice colorful pics!

Planned most of a South Dakota trip for November/December back in 2014 but the weather and other expenses have caused us to go on different trips during different times of the year. Looking at going out there this Thanksgiving however, main focus would be the badlands and the black hills, thinking about renting some gear, my current gear is
Nikon D7100
Nikon 70-300mm VR
Nikon 10-24mm
Nikon 50mm
Nikon 35mm
Have been thinking on the Tamron 150-600mm as within my price range, have heard of some using a teleconverter with it as well, but some issues with the f/stops and autofocus. There is a 2nd Gen of the T 150-600mm as well, about 500 more bucks. Anyways thinking about renting the lens, to see how I like it, for the trip. About $70 to rent for 7 days, we will be in the area for only 3, seem to find mixed reviews on the lens, some say it is great and others do not. The rental places I looked have bad reviews about the condition and quality of the lens, which gives me pause.
Any recommendations for rental places, or what may be a good lens to test out on the trip? I also have thought the 18-300mm Nikon could do well to replace the 35/50 and maybe even the 10-24 at times, but hard to beat a prime, been using the 35mm more, the 50mm I should probably sell as I never use it since getting the 35. My main focus on the trip will be buffalo and mustang photographs along with the landscape/nature shots.
Also ending the trip at the farm, there's a barn that always has owls in it, will probably visit again.

Well now I'm also looking at switching out the 10-24mm for a 10-20mm. I already own the 10-24mm and paid $500 for it new in 2014. The 10-20mm came out June 2017 and most reviews show it preferable to the 10-24mm, most of my shots are at the wider end of the range anyways. It's new at $300. Could sell the old one, buy the new one and have some excess money. I think the VR would be nice as I often hand-shoot with that lens just as often as tripod. Any thoughts?

LIghtroom gurus, edumacate me..
i've been using bridge for years, but now that I am getting large volumes of work, I can't afford to exclude LR out of my toolkit.
This said, how does this chit work?
I understand Image adjustments and syncing - this stuff is fantastic. But, once the images are brought into photoshop, and processed, how do I retain the naming convention and get the updated/processed image in to the library?

If for some reason Lightroom does not automatically import the psd in Lightroom you can always import it using the "File - import photos and videos" menu.
Now who has upgraded to Photoshop 2019? I still need some time to get used to that new undo haha

Sums up the sickening feeling when you make the decision to get up early and photograph an iconic location only to share it with a crowd. Everyone is so hell-bent on getting the shot even when it's not on ("I'll just photoshop it") that it becomes a circus.
Nothing wrong with meeting a few people in your travels but landscape photography is usually most enjoyable when you're experiencing it without a crowd, ideally alone, so you can make an emotional connection to the location that feels special and if you come away with a beautiful shot, great, but if not you got to experience it as intended rather than feeling like you're in a crowded shopping mall.
The photographer in the video likes exploring peaceful parts of Scotland looking for unique compositions and he does a wonderful job of it. Now that he's got an online presence and does workshops โ which is part of being a professional and paying the bills โ he's expected to get those iconic shots in other parts of the world but I can tell it's leaving him empty.

That's the biggest turn off for me with landscape photography. Sometimes there's no way around it when traveling where you're staying somewhere only one night and people expect you to get the iconic shot but it feels so good to be the only one there or if you're sharing it with a few people that they're all respectful.

Has anyone here got advice on doing weddings? I want to shoot some video, but if I start with portraits maybe that would be a good place to start, with how many photos do people generally deliver, how many batteries, are you dumping footage etc…?

I just got into motorsports photography this year and love it. I went to a IMSA, PWC, and Historics race this year at Lime Rock. I'll be going to these same events next year, and maybe the IMSA race at Watkins Glen too.
edit: the 2nd shot of the blue Bugatti is at 1/25 which I think is pretty crazy at 150mm ff equivalent.

Last two weekends have went out to the woods to snap some shots of the kid and the dogs, having a hell of a time getting well-focused shots, mostly just using the 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX Lens on my D7100.
When I would go shutter priority, I could get some fair shots, pretty dark but worked alright, and when I tried to use continuous focusing, it never seemed to grab the dogs but some tree or something else instead. Or if I would get a one dog in focus, the others would be quite blurry, so to low of aperture maybe? Have been unhappy with the sharpness of about 25% of my shots in general, and more like 50% of the dog shots. The 35mm doesn't have VR, so that could be a small part, I do use back button focus and tend to focus and recompose alot, I've read how this can cause your focus point to move behind or in front of the original point, due to trigonometry. But still getting a handful of good shots each outing.
I also just take one photo at a time, rather than continuous shooting, not sure if that would help? Maybe a different lens as well, in this specific application.

I think If I adjust Aperture to have a wider depth of field, it would help with the recompose shots being a hair blurry. Pretty sure it's not a hardware issue, but a user issue, I have noticed with all of the lenses that some of the shots are not as sharp as they could be.

Rented the 150-600mm Tamron from Lens Pro to Go for next weekend, hitting up the Badlands National Park and Custer State Park, along with a handful of other areas over there. Main goal is to get a few Bison/Big Horn shots, and then to just take my time setting up the landscape shots, Slowing down should help produce higher quality images, and a lower overall number of pictures. I've always just snapped off quick photographs while hiking or exploring areas, without to much thought on settings or a tripod, some of my favorite shots from trips are usually impromptu shots like that, they just can suffer from issues I feel could be addressed with the right settings.
Not quite in focus, but did enjoy how well it turned out despite that, good contrast between the subject and background.

Rented that 150-600mm Tamron for the South Dakota trip. About $900-1,000 new, avg used price seems to be $650 Forgot the Tripod, so I figured the trip would be a bust, but it hand-held real well, just didn't get to try any night shots is all, brought a new ND filter for the 10-24mm, but hardly used that lens at all, never maybe. Just the 35 and then the 150-600 for most of the shots. Took around 400, narrowed it down to about 100 ******** ones.

So did you rent the tamron or the sigma? you posted a pic of the sigma, they do look very similar though
