Not really. If I nap I'm inclined to get out of bed in a better mood on Monday morning. Could have something to do with the fact that I nap with my bedroom door locked. With my Wife.

Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

What's everyone's thoughts on being sore after a workout?

Do you think you're getting bigger or strong IF you finish a workout and you aren't sore?

I'm probably in the minority but I think soreness is an indication of the muscle trauma you're looking for in trying to get bigger. You can get stronger without necessarily getting sore though.

over time i learnt that doesn't mean i don't feel the doms it means i aint growing. rarely feel DOMS on my shoulders and triceps.

i agree with bando. after EVERY leg workout it just hurts like a bish man.

MY theory is that my legs are just weak and that they need more hammering, thus easily feeling the DOMS for at least 2 full days.

This is the mentality I have. And even if I bang out 3 or 4 exercises @ 3/4 sets each and I don't feel sore the next moring…I feel like I wasted a whole workout

I will ALWAYS feel it after leg day too. No matter what.
But recently chest and back I feel nothing. Even after going heavy

Whenever I switch up my routine and add a few new exercises, I'll be sore as hell for days. Doing that also prevents me from getting bored of the same old crap, day in and day out.

You gouts have any plans this weekend?

My bro brain several years ago would have undoubtedly equated soreness level with gains. Now, I place a heavy emphasis on mobility and capacity and soreness impedes both. I shouldn't be one day removed from a lift and struggling to walk up stairs or swing a hammer. Soreness also masks real issues that may be going on.

During my last cut two weeks ago, I had 85 weight sessions in 42 days – I couldn't imagine how I would have completed it without 6 months of training in mobility and capacity first. On my last day of that cut, I strained my right lat and it's been terrible to deal with the past couple of weeks. Sore most of the time until it's warmed up.

I know it will heal soon but I couldn't imagine dealing with that soreness on a daily basis. It would more than likely keep me from lifting heavy things regularly.

In all, I guess it really depends on the person. My GF trains bikini comp and she's always sore. She has the mentality of, "if it doesn't hurt, it's not working". I like to take my time and do the preventative stuff to avoid injury, ice, heating pads and Advil

Sup OG's Long time no talk.

How is life, fellas?

what type of training plans are you guys on?

Just re joined my globo gym out here. and I have been getting good gains but I have been doing random chit lmao.

I want to incorporate some oly lifting and a bit more powerlifting.

but man it feels good to be back at a gym. I was at a CrossFit gym for sometime, it helped me in my 60-pound weightloss.

Congrats on the 9 months. Seems like quite a few of us OGs have ditched the evil liquid in exchange for a healthier lifestyle. Since quitting, I can say I haven't felt this damn good in a very long time. I sleep less and feel 200% refreshed. Tons of energy through the day, better attitude, clearer thoughts, etc. I made major improvements in all parts of my life, especially the wallet. I also leaned out a ton. Veins popping out of my abs, shoulders and legs.

ayye, I'm 5 weeks out from my next PL Comp. Running a Sheiko template with bench 3x a week, squat 2x, deads and variations 1X. Workouts can be as long as 2 hours. It's more like work than training but will be nice getting them sweet PR's at the end of April. I'm not losing any size and my traps have been blowing up.

Oly lifting is a lot of fun if you learn it right.

Grats on the weightloss and 9 months noalcoholaveriresery OG.
