The good news is our issues are on the interior OL which is much easier to address via free agency. However we have to start planning on life after Joe Staley. The guy is still a great player butn he's had moments that make you turn your head away and pretend you didn't see it. Great guy, great player but he's gotten beat BAD a few times in the last couple of weeks.

The other good news is this draft will have some talent at OL…just need Chicago and New Orleans to lose. Don't like seeing the Saints playing well since I was hoping to get an early 2nd round pick out of them.

Having all that cap space is great but we have to be smart with it. I think signing Cousins gets us to playing better football quicker but if we're in position and Kyle loves what he's seen from a QB prospect then you have to make that move.

I'd like to see them play some of the young guys on the interior. Magnuson is an intriguing player but you have to wonder why he hasn't been playing given how awful our guys have done. Maybe if he plays it will be one of those "practice like Jane, play like Tarzan" situations.

In terms of free agency, all eyes will be on Dallas. I don't see any way they let Demarcus Lawrence walk in free agency but if they do he has to be the top guy for us to look at, David Irving is a RFA for them so we'll see what happens there.

Trumaine Johnson should also be hitting the open market, have to kick the tires on him.

Not sure how much we'd really get…and I hate the idea of trading away all of our vets, especially a dude like Staley who's an awesome locker room guy and a pretty good player. Yes he's gotten beat bad a few times but he's been the most consistent player on the roster.

Plus I just want some stability on that OL. If we can get a 2nd rounder then trade him. If we can't get that then hold onto him. You need some vets on the team unless we're going full blown tank mode.

I mean, at 0-7 you basically already are. And it's not like the 49ers did well last year.

As an Eagles fan I'd welcome such a fire sale. I want to avoid the Big V experiment if possible!

I wouldn't trade anyone else unless you get an offer that you just cant pass up. At this point we need to try and win a couple games. Can't have the GOAT coach/GM go 0-16 their first year!!!

Need at least 2 wins LOL

I'd be shocked if we didn't win at least 1 game. The way Cleveland is going about business it may require an 0-16 season to pick ahead of them…and possibly even at 0-16 we may still pick #2

I hope we're able to keep being in our games(last game was tough to watch) but at the same time we're playing more and more younger players so it's going to be tougher to keep up with good teams. I'm expecting another solid beating vs the Eagles at their house. Hard to see it being a trap game but maybe they take it a little easy on us after a shorter week lol.

At this point I just want to see growth from the young guys. Would like to see Solomon settle into a position(i get the logic behind having him learn all the positions in a throw away season but would also like to see him settle in) and start being more consistent. Would like to see Reuben stay healthy and show he's our future at LB. See growth from Witherspoon, Kittle, Taylor, Jones and of course Beathard.

Unfortunately facing that Eagles front with our OL issues and Beathard's inability to sense pressure at this point could be a disaster. Hopefully he survives it in tact.

I don't want to trade Staley but if the Eagles after a few games realize they need a LT the price might be too good to pass up. We are clearly trending toward 0-16 and we also clearly are getting rid of veterans. So it would seem appropriate to me if the Eagles are in the buyers market and we need to get as much as we can for the future.

I didn't want to trade Bowman I thought his mentorship would be invaluable to Rueben but clearly the team thought that wasn't necessary.

LOL at the article. 49ers donating money to oppress gun owners and citing Kaep about systematic oppression. The irony.

I don't really have an issue with that. Sports teams have always done stuff like this even before the protests and do a lot of work with charities and the hot cause of that time. I am definitely done with the protests during the games though. I know it comes off chitty to some people but when you're on the football field, you should be playing football and concentrating on getting better for football…not working on making political statements.

Part of the issue is Jed York wants to act like a fuking millennial(sorry guys I know a lot of you are lol) and be the owner who cares to fit in with all the young tech guys out there.

I just want to see us build a better team and worry about football.

Looks like Eric Reid is now LB. very interesting. He can lay the wood pretty well but I am not sure he will be facing 300 lb linemen trying to block him. I am guessing he will be working on passing downs and coverage because we suck in that area.

I think that question gets taken out of context. It's a weird and ballsy question to ask but considering a ton of people going to the games are going there for the social aspect and aren't true fans unfortunately I don't think all those people care whether the team wins or not.

Let's be honest it's not like the 49ers fanbase is known for being raucous during games and giving the niners a scary home field advantage.

Not since we moved out of candlestick. Jed made this **** happen now he has to deal with empty seats cause the real fans don't want to show up anymore (the ones who feel the team winning is important). Those going for the social aspect used to be sprinkled in among real fans now its just sprinkles of social people and no real fans, except the ones who are forced to go cause they got stuck with a seat license.

The biggest issue is that they can't see whats wrong because Jed is so stupid. He literally can't look at this from a common sense view and see the problem. So he resorts to sending this bull**** out.

Team not winning = **** attendance its not that ****ing hard to see.
Pair that with ownership distrust, and no confidence in his or the teams moves/outcomes what does he fukin expect. Not to mention the fact nobody likes Levi's or the fact the team is in Santa Clara. Jed royally ****ed up and is gonna have to deal with it unless he wants to make a move he won't make, sell the team or move it back or they do heavy renovations on Levi's. I hate the affect this all has had on the team but tbh Jed deserves it. Karma is a bitch.

I see what you're saying but I don't think it's as simple as "if you win the real fans will come"

If anything if the team is winning the ticket price goes up which means you see less hardcore fans coming since they may not have the big bucks of the casuals and social event attendees. Plus you have teams that don't have success but their fans are always vocal. Our fanbase has never been known as being super loud Candlestick or not.

Sucks but at the same time when teams make it so expensive to go see a game, deal with all the traffic, parking, etc…it's just that much easier to watch the game from home.

Yeah it's going to be a blood bath. We may be missing several starters on the OL vs one of the better defensive fronts. Poor CJ better wear extra pads. If we keep this one within 14 points it should be considered a "win"

I debated not watching yesterday but I did and took it on the chin!!! The game was close until 2 minutes left in the first half and then they fell apart.

The only positive was the DL played really well especially that street free agent Leger Douzable or whatever his name is. He was a monster early on.

Beathard was plagued by inaccurate passes. If he could be more accurate we might could have something with him. He takes a beating like a champ and he's starting to scramble a bit more when nothing is there. The OL doesn't give him time and I wonder if he's just rushing his passes?

At one point we were down to 5 healthy olinemen. I wonder what they would have done if 1 of those got injured?

Lots of injuries yesterday. Ward, Garcon, Staley, Gilliam

Ugh….

I don't care about the loss but the injuries suck.

Thomas will be out a few weeks with an MCL sprain
Staley will be out with fractured orbital
Brown I'm assuming will be back next week but they said if Fusco(who was gimpy) had to come off we'd be playing a TE at OT.
Ward
Garcon
Gilliam

When you're not super talented to begin with and you're losing some of your best players to injury the product is tough to watch. I felt much better about this team before the Dallas game when we were losing but losing close games and our guys weren't getting injured like crazy.

Hope the guys who can come back, come back soon. Thomas definitely needs playing time so hate seeing him get hurt like that.

As for Beathard it was obviously an ugly game but Hyde dropped at least 2 first down conversion passes. One of the picks was essentially a lateral from Robinson to the DB.

Honestly I can't believe he survived that beating. That was worse than the one we put on Eli back in 2011. Not much he can show if the OL plays like this but the odds of CJ being our franchise QB were slim.

Honestly I can't believe he survived that beating. That was worse than the one we put on Eli back in 2011. Not much he can show if the OL plays like this but the odds of CJ being our franchise QB were slim.
We literally need 3 offensive lineman and that doesn't include an aging Joe Staley who is past his prime. Maybe we get lucky and Garnett pans out.
