The sad thing is the new regime clearly isn't sold on Garnett. If they liked what they saw in him there's no way he would've been put on the IR without designation to come back.

I hope he works out but not a great sign, similar to Joe Williams. The "IR" designation out of nowhere screams someone who doesn't make the roster if he's not a 4th round pick. Hopefully all of these guys take their offseason seriously and come back playing hungry next year.

I think our issues are definitely more on the interior which is easier to replace. This draft has some quality OL talent so we can certainly also look in that direction to try and improve the roster.

The one good thing from the game was the play of Witherspoon. We really need him to work out so we have at least 1 decent corner to work with. I still think Robinson can turn it around but certainly not someone we can count on.

As sad as it is to say right now I think if I'm being honest and projecting a little bit we really only have 3 legit building blocks on defense.

Solomon Thomas - I would've liked to see more out of him as a pass rusher but I think he's a guy who will only get better. He's shown a lot more than Armstead has as a rookie and should build on that in the offseason. I do think they're playing him out of position due to need right now and we'll need a legit LEO pass rusher so he can play the big end position like Michael Bennett does with Seattle.

Deforest Buckner - this one is obvious. He took a huge step forward in his 2nd season and I'd love to see a similar jump for Thomas and continued improvement from Buck.

Reuben Foster - He needs to stay healthy but the talent is clear. I think he's better off playing Will and having us find a bigger guy to man the middle and take the punishment that position requires.

….honestly that's pretty much it.

So it appears he is on the last year of his rookie contract. What happens after the season? Crazy to think we could sign him for like 60 million for hardly even playing.

Was talking to my buddy about the trade and we both thought wouldn't it be cool if they also traded for TY? Give Jimmy G another weapon.

He's not leaving unless we want him to leave. Plenty of cap space to franchise or extend him. I'd gladly pay him with an incentive deal. Worth the risk and in a year or two could be a steal as a contract. Osweiler level deal honestly would be fine with me.

he's got half a season to prove his worth. i'm glad we made a move to at least try to solve the Franchise QB riddle. there's not a whole lot of risk here. If he's a stud we sign him to a franchise QB deal, or we tag him. if he shows some growth and potential we try to sign him to an incentive laden deal. There are options.

We have so many holes, i feel like this is a move where we can use those early picks on Pass rush, OL and WR, which will only help JimmyG.

Stoked about Jimmy G. But I really think they shouldn't play him AT ALL this year. Season is lost, and we can let CJ get some NFL experience, along with taking all the hits from our decimated and already pretty bad OL. There is no need to play Jimmy this year, just let him learn the system and start next year as the 1, CJ as the 2 and a mid draft QB as the 3 or a FA backup at 3. Besides not seeing him play could serve them better in contract negotiations. Either way a huge fan of the trade like this way more than Cousins or draft options at QB early on. But I really would be fine with him not playing at all this year.

He should be cheaper then what Kirk Cousins will be getting so that's a huge plus.

That is true. I would like to see him play this year even though our oline sucks. I would like to see him given some time to learn the playbook. My guess is 2 weeks and he will step onto the field.

I am honestly pleased with this. My guess is that the Pats started to think about their cap hit and that they could not afford to keep him and Brady. Makes sense because if the tagged him it would be like 25 million or if they tried to extend him it would be fore a decent about of money for a guy who is a backup. I say pay the man a decent amount and let it roll for 2-3 years and see what happens. Now we can used that 1st or 2nd pick for something better.

It's essentially 7 practice games to get familiar with Shanny and the system. He's 26 years old dude, lol.
Should keep him out at minimum til after the bye week. Shouldn't play him until Staley and Brown are out there healthy. We put him out there with the current OL we better pray he makes it out alive.

Plus 3 weeks will give him plenty of time to pick up the offense(well at least to start)

….plus we may actually be able to beat the Giants so I don't want to do that lol.

Witherspoon definitely played his best game last week. Got beat for a 50/50 ball which ended up being a TD but also read a play well and got a big pick off Wentz. He'll have to keep playing well.

Robinson is frustrating. Honestly I think it's a great trade for the Jets. A 5th round pick for a corner who fits their scheme very well. We asked Robinson to do something he wasn't comfortable doing and he was awful as a result. Sucks but sometimes guys just aren't scheme fits.

Won't surprise me if he plays really well for them but for us he was awful.

I would not put him in with the OL in its current shape, if Staley and and Brown are back, maybe. Reasons to hold him out all year because he can still learn the offense in practice, we don't need to win any games at this point (except morale maybe), and because we can still develop CJ by letting him learn through actual game experience. We're not losing anything by not playing Jimmy. Either way he's a upgrade on paper and hopefully is our QB of the future, but we all know the future is not this season, it may be next year if we kill the draft, FA, and everyone stays healthy maybe we can be contenders, but even with Jimmy being a upgrade at QB alone next year is no guarantee to be a legit team.

If he plays this year I wouldn't be mad but IMO patience and waiting longer to play him is a better option than rushing him out there sooner than later.

Edit: kinda glad we got rid of Robinson, cause he wasn't doing **** but mostly it shows that ShannyLynch aren't babying anyone and ready to cut/trade if the talent isn't cutting it. Wasn't a fan of the Bowman move but everything else they have done has been pretty good.

I'm hoping for the best with Garnett working out and maybe Blair being a productive backup. Thank god for Buckner though.

This draft will be huge. I would love for us to get #1 or #2 overall and do a deal with the Jets. I'm thinking our #1 or #2 for Jets 1st, 2 2nd and 1st next year. Perfect world we get #1 with Browns behind us and teams like the Jets or others will want to jump ahead of them to get the QB of their choice.

OL talent is pretty good this year. Quentin Nelson, Mason Cole, Billy Price would all be terrific additions. Nelson could be a rare guard to go top 10. I like the offensive talent in this draft much more than last year so I think where we went heavy on D in last year's class this year it will be more offense driven and we should definitely try and surround Jimmy with legit weapons and protection.

I would LOVE for us to find a way to get Quentin Nelson and Courtland Sutton somehow.

because they generally come at a premium, i'd really like us to get a pass rusher first. IMO, even just having one guy that can create pressure will be a catalyst/force multipler for the rest of the defense and make it look much better than it has this year. I really hope we keep Tank and Armstead around.

Ideally we'd be able to trade down, stay in the top5? and still pick up Chubb.

and yeah, being able to get a guy like Sutton, who can be the Julio in Shanny's system would be great too. You dont really find top notch WR's(Calvin, Julio, AJ Green, etc) late either.

Otherwise, i think we need to stockpile youth along the OL(mainly T and C). Need to groom a RT for when we slide Trent over when Staley hangs em up in a few yrs. I think other spots(WR, G, DB, LB) can be supplemented with FA.

Lots of ways we could go and it will become more clear once the season is over and guys declare and we know where everyone is picking(need Saints to get back to losing to get that 2nd rounder earlier)

I like Chubb but depending where we pick pass rusher may not be the BPA. Arden Key seems to be the top guy but I'm not a huge fan. I think he's a lot more projection and i'm afraid of guys like that with a top 10 pick. Projection is great when the floor is pretty high to start.

I'd like to see us sign Ansah from Detroit in free agency to address that position and hope we can find a gem later in the draft.

i forgot about Ziggy. You typically dont see premier edge rushers hit FA, but i'd be cool with that too.

My buddy(a Cards fan) insists Saquon Barkley should be the pick and while i agree he's an outstanding talent, we have too many holes and its counter to the Shanny RB logic.

I hate that we suck, then on top of that our roster is decimated. I know its a heavily physical sport but I would like to see what our healthy team would look like, or at least close to healthy.
San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco Giants
Golden State Warriors
San Jose Sharks

We need a break soon. We've been one of the most injured teams the last few years. It's crazy. Compare our injury list to like KC or the Rams and it's crazy.

Need some luck to go our way. Hopefully it starts next season.

I've barely been paying attention. What's the story with Hyde and Breida? Dude in my league wants to swap Mixon for Hyde…trying to decide if I should do it? I know this oline is trash…
Is Jimmy playing this year?
SF Giants
Both teams played hard.
