thanks

all handheld, I'm just using a poverty m43 camera so weight is one thing I don't have to worry about, I can pan literally all day (like this last WEC/IMSA event that had 20 hours of racing in 2 days, and the Rolex 24 hour race in January) and not get tired at all.

^^^ Amazing photo, love the contrast and shadow.

A client of mine asked me if I did drone video. Well, I do now. I am doing updates on a construction project. I am learning the basics of video editing as I go. I found a really useful free downloading for editing called "Shotcut".

I just got the Sigma 105 ART and people aren't kidding when they call it the bokeh master. One of my photographer friends invited me to her shoot and I just took this:

Another with my girl in Miami this past weekend:

The 85mm is more of a "zoom" focal length, meaning it will be closer to the subject, so to speak. The 50mm is regarded as a length that replicates what a person sees through their eyes. There are lots of online discussions about this. You just asked about a landscape photo that was shot at 16mm… notice how wide the photo appears and how you see everything? If it was shot with a 200 or 300mm lens, you'd probably just see the lighthouse in the whole photo.

okay i have an outdoor wedding in Yosemite next weekend and i really want to bring OCF capabilities. however, i am extremely green in experience and gear with flash. i've shot one wedding before a few years ago (all natural light and only used on camera speedlight flash during the reception), and i will be solo this time. i'm mostly concerned with figuring what lighting gear to acquire to create good light, especially because the wedding will be in the morning, and down by lower yosemite falls where tons of trees and shadows are around.

i took senior photos for a student last weekend and for that i bought a 26" rapid box to pair with my speedlight. so right now all i have for lighting gear is:

1 SB-700
1 SB-600
1 SU-800 (optical trigger)
26" rapid box
6' light stand

for the wedding i plan to have

2 D750s
15-30 2.8
24-70 2.8
70-200 2.8
50 1.8
85 1.8

my first foray into OCF was the senior shoot last weekend and i think it went pretty well, but i discovered some issues that could hurt my potential for good work at the wedding. i had to have the soft box extremely close to my subject to keep it soft, and it didn't spread much more than half the body. the sb700 seemed pretty weak. i've read a lot about how using optical triggers outside can be problematic, but luckily i didn't have any issues with the flash not firing. radio triggers cost a lot and i don't really know if i want to invest in them for my speedlights in case i get strobes in the future. i was considering getting a bigger softbox and strobe but unless the price is under $800-1000 i'd rather not at this time, and i don't really know where to begin with that anyway. should i just get a stronger speedlight (sb 910)? should i get an umbrella? taller light stand? i'm thinking of possibly having to light group shots and don't want to be severely limited.

any lighting gear advice would be appreciated.

Video is horrendous for GAS given you have to move the camera in a stabilised fashion, smoothly move focus and need continuous lighting.

I noped the fuk outta that pretty quick.

I'd Foques with that ^

I haven't had a chance to shoot at all for what feels like forever. That said, I'm going to be doing some head shots for my office next week. I've never done it lmao. Planning on using my 85mm 1.2L

The weather has been really nice, so I need to just get out and shoot. Hopefully this weekend. Probably bring the 24-70mm to be able to go wide or semi zoom, or 35mm for portability sake. It is pride weekend, so maybe I will just stay in doors. Don't want to end up accidentally zuckin sum dink I mean…

Long time no post. I got an FD mount Elicar 90mm macro that I adapted to my X-Pro2. I've the utmost respect for macro and flower photographers. It's not the simplest thing to do (and now I want to try a lot more).

I love my Olympus 75mm f1.8, if I ever switch systems I think I'm going to keep a body just so I can keep using this lens

Local photographer. I was going to say "no words" but I do have something to say. Scrolling through his channel I saw several locations I've been to and many more I haven't. He was living life that's for sure. There's nothing better than landscape photography — exploring beautiful locations and coming away with a souvenir to share with others and hopefully inspire them to visit those same places. Rest in peace mate. Never met you but wish I did.

Wish I had something fun to share, but most recently I did some head shots for my staff. It's really fukkin funny how some people HATE to have their picture taken, UNTIL they see a good one! Then it's straight up photo shoot time.

Anyways, planning a trip to Switzerland in the winter, and am struggling to determine what to shoot with. I would like to have a legit camera for all the cool chit we'll see, but don't really dig the idea of lugging it around, or worrying about something so valuable. I could go with more of a P&S, but that's just another purchase being added to an already expensive trip. Or I could just use my iphone…

Options:

Canon 6D MKII with either 24-70mm or 35mm, and then maybe the 17-40mm for landscape chit
iPhone X

How's the 6D MkII?
I was totally getting one, then I heard terrible reviews, then I heard those reviews were silly, and it's GTG; gets good reviews now.
Compare to other Canon bodies, if you can be bothered.

As for the above post, if you only wanna take one lens, 17-40 all the way.
