I just picked up Breida, I have a feeling Hyde will be getting phased out a bit. He's still the best RB on the roster but last week he had at least 2 drops of would be 3rd down conversions from Beathard. Hell Breida even ran better than he did vs the Eagles.

Of course Mixon has been disappointing in his own right but odds are higher that Cinci would be up in games more than the 49ers would be. I'd do the deal but my FF season has been brutal with injuries.

The team is just trash right now, so it hard to have a run game when you're always playing from behind. its def going to get worst with Garcon going to IR. They are both getting opportunities, but with no WR and OL its not looking good for either of them.

Even being a homer, i would take that trade. I dont think the OL is going to magically get good this year. Even when healthy it was pretty bad. Sadly we'll be coasting to a Top 2 pick.

Gotta admire CJ resiliency and grit. Dudes getting killed out there and keeps getting back up, just led a TD drive. Love it.

the defense looks pretty good tho. i mean there are some quality young pieces there.

the injuries tho…like wtf, are we the most injured team in the league? overall i feel like there is a trend to more injuries NFL wide cuz of the CBA practice restrictions(which was in theory supposed to lessen wear on players), but our team seems to have some rly bad luck with injuries.

Honestly at this point it is what it is.

2-14 team last season with historically awful defense and a terrible offense as well
We're implementing a new scheme on offense and defense
We had MAJOR roster turnover from last season. Pretty sure we're at like 40% or maybe even less of guys who were on this roster last year.
Lead the league in players on IR
Lead the league in drops
Lead the league(or maybe 2nd at this point) in penalties

Can anyone really be surprised that we're 0-9? The crazy thing is we may not even end up picking top 2 when it's all said and done. Giants game is very winnable. And if Garoppoo starts after the bye week and we get some injured players back we have a chance to beat the Bears and Houston with all of their injuries.

At this point I think the best thing for this team would be to somehow end up with #1 overall and try to mortgage that pick away but we'll probably screw that up just like we did last year. I love Solomon Thomas and i think he'll keep getting better but Myles Garrett would've been a perfect fit for this defense at Leo. We had to win a game vs the Rams that meant nothing really…bye bye #1 overall.

I do have to say that I like what I see out of CJ. He's a tough SOB and he clearly has things he needs to work on but I love that he's out there battling. I hate to see him out there almost like a sacrificial lamb but we need him to at least hang in there for one more game. Need to get Jimmy to the bye week at least. I think there are some things he'd be able to help the offense with in terms of getting the ball out quicker than CJ, making better reads due to expereince but not knowing the offense is a handicap not even Tom Brady could overcome. If you can't line up the guys where you need them or know what route you're actually calling it makes it tough to get the ball out quick.

Hats off to CJ Beathard, he's one tough SOB.

We need about 10 new offensive linemen this coming offseason. We probably need to draft 2 with our first two picks just like we did back a few years ago when we draft Iupati and Davis. Funny neither one is on the team anymore but our line got an immediate upgrade when we drafted them. It laid the foundation for Harbs.

Honestly there are so many directions we can go I feel like each week or even each day I change my mind of how we'd like to approach the draft.

Good news is there are lots of prospects who can help us…which is why I'd love for us to be able to trade down and acquire a bunch of other picks.

Right now I would LOVE to see any of these guys drafted by the niners in the first round…no particular order

Quenton Nelson - dude is a stud OG, all pro type for years to come and one of the safest picks in the draft
Connor Williams - he's been injured this year but I see a guy who can be somewhere between Joe Thomas and Joe Staley type LT
Calvin Ridley - Kid doesn't have the numbers due to Alabama's QB play but he gets off the line like a stud. Could be dangerous #1 type WR in Kyle's offense
Courtland Sutton - Julio Jones light but a big body WR who can go up and get the ball
Christian Kirk - probably worse situation than Ridley but has OBJ like ability
Minkah Fitzpatrick - love this kid. Can play CB or FS.
Sanquon Barkley - #1 talent in this class. RBs have been going early in recent years and this guy has a chance to go #1 overall. Perfect fit for Kyle's scheme. Could be too good to pass up.
Harold Landry - LEO come on down.
Roquan Smith - we need help at LB outside of Foster(if he can stay healthy) Smith is another stud who flies around the field and makes plays. Having two guys like that on this D could really help out.

We need the quarterbacks to start doing better so a team will be willing to trade up to get one. We have to fix the oline first IMO hopefully and hopefully we can get some guys in free agency.

I think as the draft process goes along the QBs will rise to the top again just due to the position. Josh Rosen can easily be a #1 overall type of QB. Lamar Jackson is actually having a really good year and showed a lot of growth. Honestly I wrote him off myself and laughed at the idea of him being an NFL QB but it does look like he's actually showing things you want to see out of an NFL QB similar to Dak Prescott's last season at Mississippi State.

Not sure if Darnold comes out but the more potential prospects teams want the better the market for trade down scenarios.

Boy I can't wait til the offseason.

Here's what I'd like to see happen before next year as of now.

Extend-sign Jimmy G

Key Free Agency Additions:
Ziggy Ansah - Leo
Ryan Jensen - Center
Zach Brown - LB
Morris Claiborne - CB

Draft
1 - Trade down picking up at least a 2nd rounder this year
1 - Quenton Nelson - yes guard early isn't sexy but this kid is a straight up stud no matter what scheme
2a - Christian Kirk - I think he'll end up raising his stock during the offseason when it's all said and done but kid has OBJ like abilities but playing with a terrible QB situation
2b - Rashaan Evans - Our new SAM
3a - Frank Ragnow - Depth or potential starter at C or G(whatever we need more help at between Garnett or Jensen)
3b - Rashaad Penny - Not sold on Joe Williams being the guy but Penny despite the competition has the moves to do great things in this scheme

I think improving our OL should be #1 priority now that we have the guy we think can be the QB of the future.

I trust Kyle to make offensive players look better than their talent actually is but one thing he cannot do is scheme OL talent. You need guys who can do their job to keep the running lanes open and keep the QB from getting killed.

On defense I'd like to see us add some speed at the LB position. I wouldn't count on Malcolm Smith and we need guys around Foster who can fly to the ball.

Trading down is gonna be key. Hopefully a team falls in love with one of the QB’s and gives up the farm for him. Let’s get a guard, a receiver and a corner in the first two rounds. And add a first rounder for next year.

Yeah if we can pull of a similar trade to last draft but closer to what Titans/Browns got for moving down with Rams/Eagles that would be excellent.

My mind may change as we get closer to the draft but at this point I don't see a single guy I love above all others. Last year when it became pretty clear Myles Garrett was going #1 I was all in on Solomon Thomas and while he hasn't lit up the stat sheet I think he still has great potential.

This year I'm all over the place. Would absolutely LOVE any of these guys

Minkah Fitzpatrick
Calvin Ridley
Quenton Nelson
Harold Landry
Saquon Barkley

But would also be cool with guys like Arden Key, Connor Williams, Bradley Chubb among others.

Reason I think Nelson would be the best of the bunch is I think he's head and shoulders the best OLman in this class even if he's not playing the sexy LT position. I do think Ridley would be special in this offense and could be another Antonio Brown.

Also…not draft related but I'm really liking what I'm seeing out of our last pick of the draft in Colbert

I don’t want Saquan. Way too easy to find good backs in the mid-rounds and we already have a good back in Hyde, albeit injury prone. We have way more problems than at the RB position.

I agree but Saquon is a perfect fit for this scheme so if he stays healthy you know you're getting a sure thing in a sense.

Perfect? I wouldn't go that far. Tough game draft wise. I don't want us going 0-16 but winning this may cost us a top 2 pick. We'll see what happens but hopefully we don't end up regretting winning a meaningless game a few months from now.

Looks like we're not going 0-16 but top 2 pick probably just went out the window which will make it harder to trade down.

The 49ers currently cant even do being bad right.

Its kind of not their fault though, the Giants are just so bad themselves that they lay down for everyone.

RIP top 2 pick. Seems kind of futile to win one meaningless game, but who knows I guess they just have to let the chips fall wherre they may and let the players have this one so their spirits arent totally crushed.

Adrian Colbert is my new favorite player. Dude needs to be our starting safety going forward even when Ward and Tartt come back he needs to stay a starter next year. Reminding me of the Goldson/Whitner days ****ing love it. Glad we got the win **** draft position it is what it is, you don't play for draft position you play to win.

He's looking great. Brings the big hits but also covers ground quick and getting to the ball like a FS should in this scheme. Hope he keeps getting better. He can be our FS and Ward can move back to Nickel corner. Help 2 spots in the process.

Don't think I could have played. Glad he got a chance to score.

I like what our defensive line is doing and we can have a killer rotation next year if it all pans out.

Signed through 2018:
Deforest Buckner
Soloman Thomas
Arik Armstead
Ronald Blair
DJ jones
Earl Mitchell
Elvis Dumervil

2018 Free Agents
Tank Carradine
Leger Douzable
Datone Jones
Aaron Lynch

All we are lacking is speed rusher and maybe Pita can fill that role with a year of NFL ball under his belt considering he is so raw. Would like to sign Carradine and Leger to contracts but they probably might command a decent amount of money.
